"Please, West. I do not know what you need." Her voice was quiet, almost a whisper. "And if I ever do, I do not know where to start. The beginning would be nice but are you sure you wanted something so far back. I am a vampire, after all."

Her eyes widened.
She may have been waiting for him to answer her, yet she did not expect herself unprepared when he did. Inhaling the cool air, she moved closer.
"Yes. But how?"
West stirred on the bed to meet Evelina's gaze. He peered up at her from his pillow, his eyes dark and blazing. "Who are you? Why did you join us? Why did you do what you did to Sir Duncan? Why are you being chased? Would you… would you always get us in this kind of trouble?"
Saying that she would answer each one of them was easy. Hearing his exact questions made her yearn for hell to suddenly grab her by the ankles and swallow her whole.
