Seeing them from afar made Evelina pause on her feet, leading up to West dragging her until they reached the still-open doors of the inn. 

The troupe was outside, the recruits included, waiting for them.

"Is that you, Evie? Evie!" Ruben raised both of his hands, waving to them. 

Suddenly, she felt better. She answered him with her sincerest smile, walking over to him to feel the child's small embrace. 

She wondered what it was with the human boy that she managed to control herself around him, despite her yearning. Why she wanted to protect him just as West had.

"You're an idiot, West," Giles snapped, hitting the other witch's head.

"Giles!" he protested in return. 

Ignoring him, Giles turned to the vampiress. "And you? You do know that you have a lot of explaining to do, don't you?"
