Evelina stared at West's retreating back. Valerie was kind enough to assist him to the only other room they have besides their own. Which meant that she had to face him again later. Her stomach churned by just the thought of it. She sighed, turning around to see how boys all had their eyes on her.
It was a medley of criticism and pity.
"They've been screaming at each other, you know," she heard Ruben tell Luther. "I could count the times they've raised their voice but I only have ten fingers. I do know how to count beyond that, though."
Not too long ago, she believed that the two were in their own world, oblivious to the real one. Yet here they were, proving her wrong.
Raoul clicked his tongue, "Ah. Seems like you would have to spill your secrets."
"I do not see why I have to. I do not owe him anything."
"Yet you give away that expression. You say that like you do not care, but you know you do."
