Raven POV
My sister pulls into the school's parking lot, parking the car in her paid parking spot. I grab our bags from the back seat before getting out of the car. Throwing Aine her bag, I walk towards the school doors.
"Morrigan?" My sister calls out.
I tilt my head back to her.
"Hmm?"
"I love you."
Smiling, I shake my head.
"I love you too, Gremlin." I sling my arm across her shoulders.
Entering the build, we part ways, heading to our homerooms. My homeroom is on the second floor so I take the stairs. Passing three doors, I enter the fourth door on the left side of the hall and take a seat in the front room. I take out my phone to check the time, it is 8:30 AM. I hold back a groan. It already feels like it is going to a long day. I lay my head on my desk waiting for the teacher.
Slowly the classroom begins to fill up with students, some smelling of musk and Axe. I make a look of disgust. Whoever told them that spraying Axe on their body is a good replacement for soap and water needs their ass beat. There is no excuse to smell like that. At all.
Once it seems that all of the students are present, our teacher enters the classroom. She heads to the front of the room and leans against the whiteboard.
"Good morning classroom. I am your Science professor, my name is Ms. Elis. I see no need to sugar-coat my words, I am a blunt type of person. I do not and won't tolerate lies. You lie to me and that is the only strike that you will have with me," she looks at all of us. "Is that clear?"
"Yes, ma'am," we all said
She nods, a smile taking over her face.
"Great then we should all be able to get along. Since today is the first back y'all can take this time to remise with your friends about your summers."
Ms. Elis goes to the back of the room, taking a seat at her desk. I pull out my phone to play on it. All of my friends have a different first class than me, so I really do not know anyone in this room. I know that will get acquainted with everyone as the year progresses but I am in no mood to try to be friendly today. I want the day to pass by quickly so that could go home.
Five classes later, I now enter the crowded hallways to make my way to lunch. Earbuds in my ears, I drown out the rest of the noise. Today has been slow, it seems that I only have two classes with any of my friends in it. At least though we all have the same lunch break. I finally make it through the crowd to get to the lunchroom. Looking around, I tried to see if I could find my sister.
"Raven!" I hear my sister yell from behind me.
I turn around and see my sister at a table with our friends. I make my way over to her and take a seat next to my best friend, Alisa.
"What took you so long?" Anna asks me.
"My fifth class is in the most congested part of the campus. You know where everyone tries to chill at?" I said.
We only know the layout of the school due to taking a few tours of it.
Christy laughed, shaking her head.
"Bitch, what? They played you when they made your schedule." She says, snorting.
I rolled eyes and I flipped her off. She sticks her tongue out. Cocking my head, I lean across the table.
"If you are not going to use it, don't stick out it."
"Fuck you, Raven."
"That what she said!" Kira and Marcus shout.
I settle back into my seat, laughing.
"Y'all are childish assholes," Anna said, rolling her eyes.
All of us look at her with the same "Duh" look on our faces. Like bitch we know. The groups of us have been friends since we moved here. Alisa, on our first day to our new high school, strutted up to me and told me without pause that I was her new friend. Everyone else just accepted the newcomers with no questions. This is a group of people who give no fucks about anyone's feelings. We are kind to a fault but we never let anyone take our kindness as a weakness.
I get up to get in line for lunch now that the line has shortened.
Turning to Alisa, I ask, "Are you going to join to get lunch?"
She grins and gets up.
"Let go get our lunch, Piggy."
"Whatever, dirt-eater."
She and I step into line.
"So Raven, have you been keeping up with the latest Witch new?" Alisa inquires.
I shake my head.
"No, not really. I just found out this morning that Misty Awakening is coming up soon."
She makes a face "Ooh" face.
"Damn girl, I know that you are not a witch and all but that was announce was made at the beginning of July."
My eyes widen.
"Are you fucking with me? What else have I missed?"
She chuckled.
"I'll catch you up to speed after school. There are some things that I need to tell you."
I nodded my head. Well shit, I thought that I was up to speed on most things that were going on. I hope nothing I have missed is very soon otherwise I will be ill-prepared. Alisa and I grab our lunch from the cafeteria workers. Lunches in hand we return to our table and eat. Since we all agreed to meet up after school, we kept our conversation focus on our new teachers and our impression of them.
About thirty minutes our lunch period is over and we split apart, each of us heading to different classes for the day. My seventh and eighth classes are both on the main floor of the school, which is plus for me because being on the second floor of the school towards the end of the day is brutal. With everyone ready to head for the day, you end up dealing rhinos storming the halls. Just not worth it.
These two classes just fly by and soon everyone is heading home, now trying to process how the day went.
