[Ammon, copy your father alright? Say this, da-da]
For some reason, I am beyond fed up with this old man. To who this old man is speaking to? That's me, Simoun- no Ammon, that's my name now since I was born into this world after my life at Earth ended nearly a year ago. And this old man is my father. He looks stupidly good for an old man, and one look at him will really show his majesty as someone born with high status. Well just don't look at him right now.
[Can you do it for father Ammon? Come on I know you cutesy adorably handsome thing can do it, say da-da] My father, Adolph, still is insisting me to do some dumb baby talk. He caught me sitting in my crib trying to make sounds, but this little body is sure inconvenient. Apart from being annoyingly cute sounding, I still can't stand up on my own for long.
And I want to be able to eat on my own again. I don't dislike it when my mother is spoon feeding me, but since my father went back home with his men a week ago, he's been annoying me nonstop. My peaceful life as a baby was ruined. All I needed was to be cute and eat what mom gives, then sleep. I've been a good baby so far giving them signals when I relieve myself or when I am hungry.
I worked hard to be the most lovely and absolutely not annoying baby. But my father… He's supposed to be a titled noble that many look up to from what I've heard while the maids gossip when he's away. But he's acting even more immature than me! Damn it. My very first words might be curses if this continues.
Are all fathers like this? I seriously don't know since I didn't grow up with one back in Earth.
[guu doo daa] (god damn) was what I meant to say but I just made those stupid noises. Well it still works I guess, my father looks pleased enough.
[Hmm!!! You really are our little treasure! Even old Bland's daughter isn't as adorable as you! You understand father already even if you're not even a year old yet! Do you love father the most? You love father the most don't you?]
Bland, or Bland Valeen Fortessa is one of our house's residents. He's a quiet looking tall man, and unlike his name, I don't see one bland thing about him. He has a badass scar on the left side of his head like a claw mark, he even gives off the vibe of a master like those in manga back in Earth. I think he's father's right hand man since he's often mentioned by father himself.
And yeah he has a daughter too. They often make us play with each other during afternoons, while mother and Bland's wife Seri, our head maid look over us. Well its more like they put me with a cute destructive being since when I'm playing with the building blocks mother hands me, Oli suddenly rolls over and makes it all fall. Its all good since she's really cute and I'd like my kid to be as cute and bubbly as her. But she's damn loud when she cries.
She calms down when I pat her when we're in the same crib together tho, but only after she grips my arm or my hand so hard I can't pull it away from her. I was really surrounded by beautiful things always, my beautiful mother, a cute little baby that's really adorable, even Seri was beautiful and calming to look at. I always felt at ease with them.
As such was my life before my damn father came home from a subjugation request by the neighboring city's lord who seems like his acquaintance.
I miss rolling around and just sleeping and eating old man, give me back to mom already. I cried inside.
[My lord, the mistress is calling for you and young master Ammon to join her for lunch.] The head maid Seri entered my room and spoke in a slow but clear way while keeping her head slightly bowed.
[Oh Seri, it's noontime already? My, my, time really slips out of my mind when playing with my most precious son. We'll be there shortly, thanks.] My father stood up after positioning me to sit on the back of his neck, which I indulged him to do so and firmly held on his hair. Slightly pulling at it to relieve some stress also.
Upon arriving at the dining hall, the maids have already finished setting the table and have retreated to the sides. Mother as well as a cool looking young girl that was my sister was already seated on their places. I wiggled in a cute manner upon seeing my mom to show my dad that I want him to bring me over to mom.
[Ara~ my sweet Ammon is looking energetic dear, how was your morning playing with him?] Mom smiled sweetly looking at us.
My father laughed loudly, [Guess what, our little treasure is finally trying to speak! When I went in his room he was really adorable while trying to speak you know? So I went and tried to help him learn to speak. Our son's first words are near my love, and it shall be dada.]
Fuck, heck no. I'm gonna say fuck you or just say mama when I'll be able to speak. Damn this inconvenient body.
[Dad you're a bigger kid than Ammon is, give him to me, he looks like he went through a lot dealing with you.] Oh my gosh this is why I love my sister, she's the only one who understands me in this house.
She is Ariessa Solaso Ventura, a pre-adolescent child with a palpable mature aura, unfitting of her cute demeanor. She's father's adopted daughter. She was the daughter of one of dad's closest aides like Bland but he died back when our city was sieged by monsters. Her mom was apparently my mom's past rival in love with dad, who, after giving birth to Ariessa died. She was only able to give her name in her last breaths.
My sister was the one who actually told me all these when she plays with me sometimes. She's rather lonely and cant warm up to other people, that's why she's settling for me since I look harmless I guess.
With all these who would've guessed we're nobles, aside from my mom who's actually decent, everybody's character is quite unique I've begun to feel quite guilty for judging them based on their looks alone. More like regret, look my father was supposed to be more awesome than this. But he acts lame all the time! He's clinging to me all day, there's no doubt one will mistake him for as the baby instead of me.
Suddenly tho, I noticed my old man become silent. I tried to figure out where he's looking and saw his gaze pointed towards mom, who in other hand smiled and nodded silently. What's up with these lovebirds?
[Bring in the crystal and the cake.] Father said out loud. What's the occasion tho, did something happen for a celebration to be held? Cakes aren't really served as desserts normally here, they normally serve pastries glazed in cheese or caramelized sugar.
Shortly after father's announcement, the door opened to reveal bland and two other manservants carrying a huge ass crystal chunk. While Seri followed carrying a delish looking cake.
[Ooh! It's that time already dad? Mom? Yay! I get to witness my brother's first awakening!] Ariessa squealed when she figured out what the crystal chunk was.
What?! Awakening? Something otherworldly is finally happening to me?! God, Buddha, Spirits, other religious things thank you very much!
I wiggled in delight atop my father's head, and apparently, I looked overjoyed causing Mother, and the maids to look my way with doting eyes. They think I'm excited for the cake. Well my tongue as a baby is, but nothing is more exciting than a realization of a man's romance dear mother.
[It is all ready my lord.] Bland announced as they put down the crystal in front of the dinner table.
[Dear, you took the honor of the 'Namewishing' from me. Let me experience this with our son alright?] Mother smiled sweetly at father.
[Ooh. My love look at the time, we must proceed quickly before our food gets cold! Sit back there and be at ease alright?] My father wryly smiled at mother while clearly avoiding her gaze.
[Adolph.] Mother was looking straight at father's eyes while still smiling now.
Scary!
Even the cute innocent me was startled even if the killing intent wasn't pointed to me.
[Oh! How splendid are the meals today! They'd still remain perfect even if left for a few more minutes. Ahaha- ahahahaha] Father forcibly laughed while handing me over to mom. I felt the tiniest bit of pity for my old man, I felt the beads of sweat on his forehead before he brought me down and it was cold.
[Hmm… My dearest Ammon is awakening today~, whichever element shows up you're still mother's little treasure alright?] The air around mother changed instantly the moment she held me. Definitely scary, I should never piss her off in my whole life here.
With that said, mother placed me into the cushion just beside the crystal and helped me sit right up by holding my back with one hand. And her other hand held my wrist and guided it to touch the crystal.
Afterwards she mumbled some words I can't recognize and something warm enveloped my body. Shit dude this is definitely awesome, and a bit scary, but still super awesome. He surely would be excited as much as I am if Sa-…
No he's not here. It's hard to imagine him crossing over like me.
My mood went down a bit just enough for me to not notice that the room became deadly silent.
Hm? What the actual fuck.
The reason everyone went silent was because of the crystal beside me, or what used to be a crystal, was now just eight vivid colors that was closely and brightly swirling with each other.
Red, blue, green, brown, black, white, grey, and purple was shining brightly but oddly enough my eyes don't hurt.
So what is my element exactly?
I turned my head to my mom while still looking excited as heck, only to her still staring at me and the sight beside me with her mouth slightly opened. I looked around and everyone's face was the same. Hey what am I supposed to do here?! Should I just touch one to confirm or something? Do I choose from these?
Damn I wanted to be dual element like ice and fire tho, Sh*to T*doroki of another world is badass you know.
[M-my lord. I've never seen something like this before.] Bland tone was just as flustered as he is.
Hmm? Did something go wrong? Shit brother does that mean I'm powerless here?
[But I did see something like this before, but not on a first awakening. It was on the war ten years ago.] Father seemed to have recollected himself, and his carefree aura was nowhere to be found. [Everyone, nothing about what happened today is to be talked about understood?]
His voice was not loud but it was deep and full of authority. The maids and Bland bowed immediately.
[Dad is Ammon gonna be alright?] Ariessa came down from her seat in the table and tugged on father's clothes.
[Nothing is wrong dear, your little brother was just special, too special that he needs to be protected by us and everyone okay? You have to be a good big sister and don't tell anyone about his eight elements okay?] Father replied as he brushed my sister's hair.
What.
WHAT?!
And from that day forward, I decided to be religious as much as possible. Just kidding.
But holy…
They said eight right? I didn't mishear right? Isn't this just like the cheat abilities of manga protagonists??? HAHAHAHA fear me!
I'm saying this again but, all the sufferings from Earth is really worth it. God, Buddha, sacred beings, thank you very much.
Mother cleared her throat then carried me back in her arms, as she did the lights faded into nothingness.
[Adolph, Ariessa, come let's go back to our seats, the food is going stale we shouldn't waste it. It's Ammon's awakening, it's a happy occasion. Come on. And dear, let's discuss this later tonight alright?]
And so we ate the fabulous meal, and the overall mood brightened up once more. Upon finishing our meal, mother asked my sister to play with me and Oli, so we went to my playroom along with Seri and two other maids.
It seems like my elements is more serious of an issue than I previously thought, because before leaving, I saw mother with an extremely worried face, and father with his serious aura.
I guess I can just cross the bridge when I get there.
I played with the two girls and spent the whole afternoon acting all cute and innocent to erase the worried looks on Ariessa, Seri, and the other maids.

At Adolph's study room
[Adolph, tell me exactly what is it that happened to our son's awakening.] Leta still sporting a worried look, asked to her husband who was drinking tea beside her.
[It is exactly as everyone saw. Our son awakened to eight elements.]
[But how can that be? This is his first awakening. It isn't even possible to attain this on the second awakening isn't it?]
[Indeed you are correct. This is unprecedented, a child barely a year old awakened eight elements was never heard of. That is why we need to keep Ammon's abilities a secret. If the people from the capital hears of it, they will fight over who gets my son.]
[You said you've seen something like this in the war before. What exactly happened then?]
Adolph silently placed his teacup down, and caressed his wife's head which was leaning on his shoulder.
[This was a secret among us generals, the heads of Gardeen and Silverio households were present that time too. Just as we received intelligence about a third party about to interfere with the war, another party helped us and asked of a common soldier. One which was treated as common fodder, to be lent to them. There they performed a ritual when five of their people were sacrificed to forcibly make the soldier gain their different elements, and another one of their men was sacrificed to help the soldier control his new power. Everyone was doubtful of what they did, because they just let their men die just like that. But when an awakening crystal was used by that soldier, he showed six elements that included his own, and the five elements from those that were sacrificed.
After that, a knight squadron was assigned to accompany the soldier to intercept the third party. In which they succeeded. But the knights were visibly shaken when they returned. The power the soldier displayed was catastrophic they said, and he acted like a madman which almost killed them.]
Noticing his wife's shaking, Adolph held her hand.
[Our son will not become like that Leta, I will protect him. And the soldier became just like that because of the sixth person from the sacrifice. I won't let them lay a hand on Ammon even if I go against the king.]
[In that I believe you Adolph. You never broke your word didn't you. And I will protect our son too, he's the future head of the Ventura household. We can't have him drunk on his own power like those bastards in the capital right?] Leta looked up on her husband and lightly smiled.
[Hahahahaha, those ignorant people boasting about getting two or three elements on their first awakening won't be able to hold a candle with my son when he grows up.]
With that, Adolph renewed his vow to give it his all in raising his son as fine as he could with all his power.
[Come let's spend the afternoon with the children. Your foolish look isn't bad to see when you're playing with our son you know.] Leta stood up and looked at his husband teasingly.
[I told you, you undoubtedly fell for my foolishness.]
Adolph stood up and grabbed his wife's waist then pulled her to a kiss.
[Mnh, stop that, aren't you supposed to be a fool? No fool is as presumptuous as you before a lady.]
[Yet you let this fool indulge in you. Sneaky fox.]
'I hope today was just a good omen for my son, not a bad one.'
Clearing his thoughts, Adolph made his way towards his son's playhouse along with his wife.
