I could not believe this day has finally came, I'm going to college. I could barely sleep last night I was so excited. Oh, I'm Sabrina Davis, I'm 18 years old and today is college move in day. The first thing I need to do is pack up this car tho. Baylor university, that's the college I will be attending. I'm from Tennessee so I'm a long ways from home. I'm looking forward to my college years and making lasting friendships. My family pushed my friends away growing up and I was always that awkward shy girl to them.
My family was not your average family. We had loads of money and it really broke apart everyone. My Father, Mr. Davis he was one of the private owners of the Tennessee Titans and he had many more business, that he put before everyone else in our family. My mother Mrs. Davis, she was a terrible mother figure, was very harsh when it came to her opinions about me, only cares for the green my father brought in, and had multiple affairs. My 23 year old brother is a junky and always needs daddy's money for illegal activity. He has no job and lives with my parents and they say nothing to him. This is the life I plan on escaping.
Now that I'm here I have to do the hard part of move in day, which is actually moving everything in. I was all the way on the 4th floor, at the very end of the hall. I was moving by myself, my family couldn't make it due to work and everything else. When I got the first load up to the room I was introduced to my new roommate, Kristen and her brother, Ryan. They were super nice people and Ryan even offered to help me while Kristen organized. As me and Ryan went back down to collect more items he started explaining how great the campus is. He was a sophomore and his whole family, including him and now Kristen have attended the university. His speech was just so well put together and he knew how to keep up a good conversation, not to mention the fact that he's totally hot.
It took me over an hours to get everything up stairs and put in place, but I had great help from Kristin and Ryan. I can definitely see myself being great friends with them soon. We all grabbed a bite after, it was a good way for Ryan to show me and Kristen around the campus and city. I caught myself staring at Ryan a few times and I think a few times he noticed, it was a bit awkward when we made eye contact.
That night every freshman was invited to a welcome party. I wasn't planning on going and so I let Kristen go with out me. An hour later I was deep into a show on Netflix, when I get a knock on my door. "Sabrina come to the party, you need to get out and have fun". I opened the door and it was Ryan. He was going on and on about me needing to experience the college life and how as soon as he heard I stayed home he rushed over here. He told me to get dress and meet him in the lobby. I told him I had nothing to wear and he texted Kristen to ask if I could borrow something and of course she said yes. So I quickly threw it on and brushed my hair and went down stairs. It was so awkward, Ryan was staring at me and for a second he blanked out when I tried to tell him I was ready. He's definitely something else.
Before I could even enter the party you could hear how loud the music was. "I can't do this" I trembled. Then Ryan opened his glove department and handed me a flask filled with vodka . I took a quick gulp and he patted my thigh next thing I know I'm getting out the car and headed into the party. There was lights, loud music, people playing cards, a bar, people dancing, and beach balls being thrown around. I have to admit it seemed pretty fun. When we got in there Ryan brought me to a table where I was greeted by Kristen and a few of their friends. I met Greg, who was a freshman, Tiffany, a sophomore, Hannah a freshman , Jarvis was a sophomore , and then there was Haden, he was a freshman, new to everyone also, and had brown hair, with a deep sexy country voice, and a chiseled football body. I could just.... oh god let me snap out of it. Hey I'm Sabrina I introduced myself and then we all took a shot and went to go party.
I was having so much fun dancing with the group. A couple mins later I felt someone come up behind me and grabs my hips as I was dancing and they pulled me away from the group to where people started to block them from my view. Our bodies so close together grinding on each other and their hands were all over me and they started to kiss my neck. I turned around with my eyes close and we made out. When I opened my eyes to see who it was I quickly backed up, It was Haden. He had this sexy smirk on his face and started to come closer. Then Ryan came up to us and sounded worried. He was asking us where Kristen was and I left with Ryan to find her. We were all over that venue looking for her. We both tried calling her and no answer and then I told Ryan that we should head outside and get some fresh air. When we got out there we looked across the street and there she was, drinking some coffee and talking to some guy. They were laughing and talking and enjoying themselves.
We took a breath of relief. Ryan started to walk towards the cafe and I stopped him. He hated the thought of his little sister on a date and I had to convince him that's she's grown and they are in a safe spot. I told him to call and check on her and she almost saw us so we ran behind a car and she ended up calling him. He answered and acted like everything was normal and told me to sush. He made sure she was alright and he hung up. We started to walk afterwards and we talked about what we were in school for. I was in school for medicine and he was in school for business. We talked for about 30mins it was a great conversation and then, he asked me about what I was doing with Haden. It was hard to talk about considering that was a friend of his. So I simply just denied the question by answering I don't know what your talking about. He stopped and looked at me and it looked like he was about to say something important , but instead he just kept walking and told me to be carful with him he's a player.
I got back to my building and I tried to get up the stairs and I plopped down seated on the step. I was way to drunk to go up these steps so I called Ryan before he could walk back to the party and he came back to help me. When we got to my room Kristen was there. She started to question if we did anything she was freaking out. We tried to explain that nothing happened between us and he just walked me home because I drank to much. She calmed down, but she was still a bit off. "you and my brother that's crazy and it could never work out." Ryan asked why and she told me that she plans on becoming best friends with me since we have to live together and it would be uncomfortable for her. I agreed and I looked at Ryan and he looked at me with slight annoyance and said he had to go. I would never with Ryan no matter how cute, because I value being close to Kristen more. I never had a bestie before.
It's 2am and me and Kristen are still up just laying in bed asking questions, it's not like we had class tomorrow, it's the weekend. She grew up with a normal family sounds like, all I told her was how simple my life is and what I came to school for. I rolled over and looked at her and asked who was she with across the street. She said it was a secret as of right now and she wants to make sure it was a real deal situation. I sat there as she went on about her mysterious man. I couldn't get that kiss out of my head, Haden was so sexy and that kiss was so intense and my body was so vulnerable to him, but it can't ever happen again because he's apart of the friend group. 1st day and I already have boy troubles.
Buzz buzz buzz, *alarm goes off*. Uhhh it's 7am last night was crazy , my heads still pounding. Kristen was still sleep, I went to put on some gym clothes and got my morning jog on headed to the gym. Baylor was so beautiful and the climax there was great. When I got to the gym is was super packed. Everyone there was beautiful and all of them had abs. I felt off, I know I wasn't fat, but I wasn't toned to the Gods either. I tried to make my exit by backing up slowly. "Going somewhere" crap I got caught, I turned around to find out it was Hanna and Tiffany. They grabbed my arms friendly like and pulled me with them to go work out. I guess it wasn't that bad, especially cause even tho Hannah a and Tiffany are very beautiful they know me and won't judge. We encouraged each other to push through the workout and we also had great conversation about the college life and the party.
"So where did you go"? Hannah asked while looking at me very curious. "Uhh uhhh", I was so nervous but I didn't want to lie to them, it would have set off bad vibes. We were all dancing together and then Haden pulled me away and we started dancing, but I didn't know it was him until after I kissed him and opened my eyes, then Ryan and I went looking for Kristen and I went home. They looked at me with all shock. "You kissed Haden" !!! Hannah yelled. Yea they both looked at each other with disappointment. Was I not suppose to I'm sporty I didn't even know it was him, they calmed me down. Apparently dating friends in the group doesn't matter in college. Hannah and Tiffany made a bet saying I would get with Ryan first and Haden betted he could get with me first. Wow what a douche bag and I thought he was so cute, not I feel disgusted. Tiffany laughed in a jokingly way" he's a hoe Sabrina" they told me that if you were just looking to have fun then he's the guy and if you want a relationship then I need to not mess with him.
Finally back in my dorm, It's 10am and Kristen was gone, there was a note saying she went to breakfast with mystery guy. I texted her to let her know that I got her note. Then I got into the shower and blasted some music. Our dorm was a more expensive dorm and came with a full bath attached to it. The dorm was nice but I'm thinking of moving off campus next year. Getting an apartment something simple. I got out the shower and I looked through my closet and realized that I have no clothes. I texted the girls to see if they wanted to go shopping and they said they had to work and other plans, then told me to text Ryan, he has good fashion sense. I'm not so sure if that's a great idea, based off of what Kristen said last night, so I went off to the mall by myself. The mall was decent I guess, I went forever 21, then pink, and I hit up Victoria secret.
Coming out of Victoria Secret you wouldn't believe who was standing there waiting for me. It was Ryan. The girls took it into there hands to invite him here. Walking around with Ryan was so awkward and he kept trying to hold my bags but I would tell him I got it. He pushed me into a store called trippy. He picked out a few night time clothes and told me to try them on. He practically demand that I show him after I put it on. First dress was a tight fitting strapless sequence dress, very uncomfortable. Next was a black maxi dress, to plain. I tried on this red long dress with a slit up the side that showed just the right amount of leg and it showed just the right amount of cleavage. I stayed in the dressing room for awhile just staring at how beautiful I looked. Ryan started to rush me to come out. I didn't want to show him this dress for sum odd reason so as I was about to unzip myself. Ryan quickly opened the curtains into the dressing room. I saw his reaction through the mirror, I couldn't look at him directly and I don't know why. Ryan zipped up the small part I had unzipped and then turned me around and scanned me with his eyes and told me I looked beautiful. I blushed and the we starred at each other for awhile. Then a women came up to us and asked if I was buying the dress. I told her no I'm not and I quickly pushed Ryan out of the dressing room and put back on my regular clothes and we left with out the dress.
The car ride was extremely awkward, but I didn't know why I was feeling this way after that incident happened. Was I starting to like Ryan, but I can't this would ruin things between me and Kristen and he probably doesn't even like me back. I hope he doesn't that would just make it harder for me. He pulled up to some parking lot. he looked straight at me "Hey look I'm sorry, but can you talk to me plz". I looked over at him but I couldn't find any words, I have so much anxiety right now and nothings making sense. I took two deep breaths and said it's fine let's just go. He backed out of the parking lot and said lunch was on him. A few minutes later we pulled up at a old fashion diner, it looks like it was going out of business or something. When we got in there we were greeted by the sweetest elder lady ever. "Ray" the elder women shouted. I'm guessing ray was Ryan cause he went in for a big hug and called her Nana. He introduced her to me and I told her my name and we kinda talked for a little before we sat down.
This was his family diner and I completely judged. His Parents came up to our table to introduce themselves also and I introduced myself back. They kept smiling at me and Ryan, but Ryan looked embarrassed almost. Ryan had a BLT sandwich and I had a Burger, we shared a basket of fries. When I had bitten into the burger my eyes lit up " omg this is so delicious" he looked at me and he said "I know" it was probably the best burger I have ever had in my life. We finished eating and his mother comes back and she tells me that it was nice to meet me and I told her likewise. She said if I ever needed a job then They always needed more help. Ryan cut me off before I could speak " mom she wouldn't want to work here", "actually I'm looking for a job now, how fast can I start" geez I never had a job in my life, this is going to be a challenge. "You can start Tomorrow and Ryan here is going to be your guide" she couldn't have been serious.
When I got back to my dorm the chain was on the door. You could hear a bunch of moving around and whispers. Ryan wasn't to happy about what he was hearing, so he starts to bang on our door for Kristen to open up. 3 mins later she finally opens the door and Ryan starts raiding our room. Standing in our shower with his shirt off was the guy from the coffee shop Kristen was with. Ryan was so furious and tried to beat him up. Kristen tried to back them up but Ryan got a good punch in and then the guy tried to ruff Ryan up so I jumped in to help Kristen. "Ryan look at me, look at me, calm down you guys are acting crazy" he finally calmed down and looked at me and Kristen took the guy out to cool off. "Why are you getting so heated Ryan" I asked he answered with a typical normal brother answer "she's my little sister Sabrina, I'm not going to let her just give it up to some guy" "she's an adult and if you keep pushing guys away from her, you are going to push her away also" I yelled at him. He took a deep breath and sat on my bed, "your right" he stated I'm going to go apologize. "What a day" I said to my self, "what a day"
Buzz buzz buzz, *alarm goes off*. I woke up to check my phone, it was Saturday 8am. When I looked over Kristen was still fast asleep. I forgot to mention to her yesterday about my new job, after all the crazy things that went on. The only things that could cross my mind is what will she think about me working with him. Ryan's such a well rounded guy. He's smart, handsome, volunteers, and is a family man. I have to stop thinking bout him as more than a friend though. I can't have a relationship with him or Kristen would hate us. When I was done getting ready I went to go wake Kristen up, she wouldn't budge, So I made a note that said I would be working today and left it in her desk. The clock read 9:15am so I quickly dashed out to my car.
9:45 I pulled up at Hunts Diner, I was kinda nervous. I never had a job before and I didn't want to look like I didn't. When I walked in Mrs. Hutson greeted me and brought me to the back, she gave me a apron and I had to fill out some paperwork. It took me about an hour or two before I finished the paper work. After that I had to sit at the counter and wait for Ryan to get done giving out his order so he could guide me. He was so cute in his uniform and I think his family caught me looking a couple of times. It felt like forever for him to finish up, I sat there for about ten minutes in reality. He finally got to me and he led me to the front of the diner where his nana was. He started me off with hostess, I think that's what you call it. Basically when someone comes in I place them at a seat and then I ask them for drinks. I was doing good for the most part and I got to learn a lot about his nana, she told me to call her nana instead of Ryan's nana or Mrs. Hutson. She told me some interesting facts about Ryan and I don't think he liked that I was laughing so much with her, maybe he was embarrassed. So he moved me over to cash register and taught me how to ring up orders. I have to admit it was pretty hard at first. My first day I worked nine hours. It was ruff, but it made me feel normal and powerful. A shower is much needed at this point.
We all hung out that night the whole group. Jarvis, Tiffany, Haden, Kristen, Ryan, Hannah, and I. We went out to eat and everyone was laughing and sharing old stories about them growing up. I felt a little left out because I didn't grow up with them. Ryan was sitting beside me and I think he could tell i was feeling left out because he asked me to share something about my childhood and then grabbed my hand. It took me by surprise when he did it, so I looked at him. Then I told them a made up story about my childhood. I didn't want to tell anyone about my real life because that's not who I was it was my family and I'm here to start fresh. They all bought it though and laughed.
As we were all leaving the restaurant, Ryan walked me to the car and gave me a really long hug. I'm not sure why, but it felt great and comfortable. Haden walked closer to us and makes a fake cough sound. We let our hug go so quick as if we got caught red handed. Haden asked if Ryan could give him and Jarvis a ride. He said sure and Ryan walked over to Jarvis. Haden said he would catch up he had to tell me something. He walked a bit closer to me, to were I was backed up on the car and told me to remember that kiss from the freshman party, cause I'm picking the wrong guy, then he walked away. It was plain disrespectful and he did it for a douche bag reason, Haden is the last person I would ever date.
A month later, classes were going good and work has been going great. Good news , I have officially became part of the group. We hang out most of the time with each other, unless we have class or work. Coming to work was the best part of my day honestly, I love spending time with the Hutson's they treat me like family, they even invited me to their Labor Day barbecue. My favorite part out of this whole working situation is that I can work with Ryan. We spend so much time together at work and not at work. Yea we hang out with the group, but we have mall adventures and we have competitions with each other. My feelings are becoming so strong for Ryan and I'm thinking about telling him at his family barbecue. I love Kristen, but I just hope she understands.
After work, Ryan walked me to my car, it was night time and we were the only two people outside the diner. His eyes were so beautiful and his smile was so white. He started to back me up on to my car and he put one hand on my waist and the other hand was placed on my cheek. He leaned in and was almost about to kiss me, but we were quickly interrupted by his mom coming to bring him back in. We quickly moved away from each other and smiled. He opened my door for me and I got in and drove off. What just happened, that was crazy. My heart was beating out of my chest, Ryan is the one for me I can feel it and in two days I'm going to tell him.
I get back home and I jump on Kristen's bed with the biggest smile on my face hoping she will be okay with what I'm about to tell her. She looked confused and then I said "I love your brother". She rolled her eyes and she's said she already knew. Now I was confused. She told me that I'm always with him and I'm always laughing at his lame jokes. She touched my arm and told me " hey I was stupid to say that you guys can't be together, I'm not going to get in the way of love and I see how you look at each other. I know my brother well enough to know that he has hard feelings for you." I got super excited when she said that and then I asked her to go shopping with me after class so that I can look nice for him. Kristen is the best roommate I could ask for.
All my classes this semester were pretty simple. Just some pre requisites every freshman has to take. I had Spanish with greg and I asked him to come with Kristen and I to the mall. Greg's homosexual, and he has the best personality. He's not loud and ghetto like what other people see as homosexual. Greg has a great fashion sense and he will tell me the truth about what will look good or not.
Finally at the mall. Me and Greg pulled up together and we meet Kristen, Hannah, and Tiffany at Trippys. Everyone started getting excited when Kristen told them that I love Ryan. It made me get nervous a bit about telling him. I took a few deep breaths and then tried on a few dresses. They were way to dressy for a barbecue, so we left and went to American eagle. Cute jean shorts and a cute red champion shirt I paired it with white Forces and some cute silver earrings. Really didn't take long to find this outfit and it was perfect.
Hanging out with this the group was so much fun. They all had something different about there personality. Kristen's definitely the home town southern bell sweet heart you bring home to mama. Also Tiffany is the flower child, she will try any drug and turns up the most at parties and always ask us to join her on the concourse for yoga, then you have Hannah, she's the iconic Barbie doll, rich, flirty, and can do anything talent wise, but she's not a bitch unless you fuck with her. Even though they aren't here, you have Jarvis the Kappa/track star, Haden the douche bag football player, and Ryan the selfless family guy/ the father of the group. Me I don't know how I fit into this group really. They all grew up with each other and I just met them.
Today was Labor Day, the day I tell Ryan how I feel. His mom asked me to come help set up with her and I told her I would bring a few things, such as condiments, decorations, and a kick ball. I got the kick ball and decorations last night . Me and Kristen packed up our makeup and outfit for the party. We were going to get ready there so we didn't get all sweaty while helping. We dropped by the supermarket and picked up the condiments and headed to the pre barbecue. Kristen and Ryan's family weren't rich, but they had the cutest colonial ranch style home and with lots of land. Mr. and Mrs. Hutson helped us take everything in to the kitchen or outside to their massive deck and yard. They had a pool and basketball court, and at least 4 acres of land. We quickly set everything up which included: blowing up pool floats, setting up tables and chairs, drawing bases for kickball, and helping to prep the food.
After set up Kristen brought me to her old room. There was so many stuffed animals and pillows. She was kinda embarrassed and started throwing them off the bed and then smiled at me. I asked Kristen about the house. She told me she was poor and then she shows me that she's raised in this beautiful home, I'm confused. She told me that this house was passed down generations and her dad and Ryan would always fix and renovate everything to make it more modern. Most the money growing up went towards renovations and the diner. So she wasn't poor but compared to her friends she was. We took a nap on the floor, so we didn't dirty up the bed. Around 5pm Hannah came barging in really loud trying to wake us up. I used the hall bathroom to take a shower and Kristen used her bathroom. We got dressed and did our make up, it took us about an hour tops. I put my hair in a ponytail and put on studs and went downstairs with Kristen. Inside was a bunch of the elders I got to meet and outside was a good mixture of ages. Kristen and I went and said hey to the group over by the pool. Everyone was here except Haden, I wonder why? No one knew where he was .
"OMG!", Ryan was walking up the stairs from the pool, with no shirt on in wet swim trucks. I couldn't take my eyes off him. We said hey to each other normal like. When I looked over at the group everyone was looking at us smiling. Ryan took my hand and pulled me towards some of his family to introduce me. As walking up the stairs to go back inside to the elders I looked back at the group and they all smiled then waved me off or thumbs me up. I met literally everyone some of them were Hannah, Tiffany, Jarvis, and Greg's family. They were also nice and gave me super sweet comments. Hanna's grandmother even told Ryan that I was a super sweet girlfriend and he chuckled a bit. I looked at him and smiled.
After meeting all the elders, adults, and kids we went to play kickball. Me and Ryan are super competitive and we decided to be captains on different teams. We played 2 games and we both won one, but I won the first one. As the teams both celebrated with dancing and laughter I pulled Ryan away and asked if we could go somewhere private. He nodded and then pulled me towards the house. When we got in the house a girl had ran up to him and jumped into his arms with a hug. I was confused once again. She was tall but shorter than him, had silky black hair, and the body of a super model.
His whole family was looking at them confused as well. She kissed him and then he put her down. He turned towards me with a slight awkward smile and said Sabrina this is Maria, Maria this is Sabrina . She looked me up and down then smiled and hugged him tighter and said "hi I'm his girlfriend". I looked at Ryan and repeated the word "girlfriend" with full anger in my face and he looked down. I said nice to meet you, and I walked back outside where I was going to go around the side of the house to leave. I caught the groups eye and they followed me. I had so many tears in my eyes and they all hugged me and asked what happened. I told them and they were just as pissed as I was. I told everyone to not say a word about it to him and especially not that I was in love with him.
Kristen went to go get my things and I waited by my car. I Heard something so I turned around with tears in my eyes and it was Ryan. He started to say how sorry he was and he never wanted to hurt me. I spoke over him with a loud STOP! I told him to go back to his girlfriend and I will see him later. Kristen ran to me and passed me my stuff thenI I got into the car and drove off. That was the last time for awhile I spoke to Ryan.
