"So how about you, why do you love the night so much? Zyair then asked, but instead of an answer, he only watched her pretty smile fade away with sole confusion.
She almost let her guard down from this friendly talk; she doesn't know what to say. What if she would say something that isn't known to this world? What if they suspect there's something unusual about her? What if the night sky here wasn't the same as hers? What if?
Well, she wasn't able to look at the night sky yesterday, so she has no clue. Was there even or did they even discover;
Meteor showers?
The black holes?
The space and gravity?
The planets in the solar system?
Life?
As far as she could remember, on her first night, the stars shone brighter and there was some sort kind of circle stuffs. She cannot remember the scene clearly but she knew she saw something unusual than the comet itself. What was it again?
'Planets...' That word resonated on her busy mind of weird hypothesis.
If she was indeed on another planet and the fact that they have the same sun, is it possible that Earth was nearby???
That opinion sent shivers on her spine as fear and excitement both swirled in her stomach. She wanted to know, that it's killing her deep inside.
What was the truth?
Was this place located somewhere in the solar system?
How come they [humans] failed to discover this place?
Do these creatures here aware of human existence, that there's life on other planets?
Does this place really exist on one of those globes?
She imagined all the possible things that she's about to find tonight with the help of the telescope, but then, a sudden thought made her waver, that this was a dream.
---Nothing but a sullen dream. She almost let herself be engulfed by this world that she nearly believed it but she knew, nothing of this was supposed to exist unless in a dream, in a book, and in human's imagination.
If there's indeed life on another planet, it would not look like this. Everything in this so-called dream was contradicting her human beliefs and the nature of the universe. Thus, she shouldn't believe it, should she?
Her overwhelming thoughts were making her lose her mind. What's the TRUTH?
"Ahem," A soft hum then broke her trains of thoughts. She looked at Zyair after she retrieved her composure, only to remember Zyair's question.
'Why did I yearn for the galaxy again?'
She's an astronomer, how could she forget. It was not only because of her fond and love of what's visible in the night sky, the stars, the moon, it's beyond that. It is the obsession of finding something like this world, the impossible.
"Well, I wonder too," She mumbled, "The thought of being stuck in this small world bothers me, that whenever I look at the stars, I feel like it has been telling me that somewhere out there, it has something beautiful for me to find." She uttered with the sincerest of her voice. She loves talking about stuffs she loves and interests her, that's her nature. "Odd, is it not?" She smiled at him, fighting the awkwardness.
'No, not at all,' Zyair, as he observed how genuine and real her emotions were, she wasn't any of the things that his companions imagined she was, a threat, a danger, a bad omen. Was the old Yuna someone like this too?
What he saw in that smile and eyes of hers was innocence and more than that ---wonders.
"So how about this, I'll show you the outline of the design. Maybe you could find something." He proposed instead, he has nothing more to say from their current topic.
He spread an ancient and cleft scroll on the table, revealing the blueprint of the telescope. As they stood near each other, skimming the description, a small entity also took a peep on the scroll, filling the space on their center.
"Geeh, how could a mirror helps you to see that far?" Dale innocently asked.
"Well, by understanding the nature of light, you can be able to control it, I guess." Zyair replied as he glanced down at Dale who's now giving him an annoyed expression, saying that 'I'm-not-asking-you-idiot'.
"Then what's the need of this and this and this..." Dale then continued asking him as he pointed every single part of the design, planning to irritate him.
Amidst their noise was Yuna, trying to concentrate on reading every description and detail of the design to find what's wrong with it.
'Was the setup wrong all along or the mirrors? We should disassemble the telescope to see the---' She unexpectedly toppled the rod of the scroll, causing it to roll and fall on the stone floor. It continued to roll until it stopped, revealing something else to her.
The silence managed to distract Dale and Zyair childish fight and turned to look at Yuna bending her knees while silently looking at the other information on the scroll. They approached her, only to see a black and white illustration of 'the' comet.
"Wah, it is Lerage, [Le-raazh]." Dale happily uttered as he stood by Yuna's side.
"Lerage?" She asked and turned to face Dale.
"It's Sirius's creation, often called the 'moving star'." Dale happily replied.
She glanced back to the drawing as another question popped out on her frustrated mind, was that even possible?
While on Earth, she found Astrid a week before it was formally known. Its existence was peculiar and impossible since comets can only last about 10,000 years but this comet surpassed that, it was a million years old or more than that. No one knows.
But then, she saw it here and now hearing that it was created in this place. No way, not a chance unless it's indeed a dream. How come it even reached the Earth's atmosphere?
"The star-keeper huh," Yuna softly mumbled as she remembered what Omri told her before. Strings of connections were now allotted in their very places, creating a very vivid possibility.
'Was Sirius the one responsible for this incidence, where I was magically spawned here?'
There are so many reasons why she doesn't believe this world is real. Unless she's able to give a reasonable conclusion to it, she'd believe it.
It sounds absurd that such a question found its way to her mind but,
'Fate, does it really exist?'
