After a long pause, nothing but silence echoed in the space between us.
One would call me stubborn and berate me for not listening to him, after all, he has travelled these mountains before and he is one with the wild, but that doesn't necessarily mean he knows it all and he's always right.
Even if I am not as capable as he is in the wild I know one thing for sure, I feel it deep within me, a nasty feeling gnawing at the back of my mind whispering bad happenings if we go sideways to wherever he wants to take as a shortcut to the snow-covered tip of the mountain.
I trust my gut feelings, my instinct is my guide, I'll choose to listen to grandmother's advice and listen to my instinct, maybe when he sees how stubborn I am he would change his mind and follow me.
"I said no." My defiant tone would hopefully make him listen to me.
