Ashley looked backed on the manor that looked like a glowing castle amidst the darkness of the night. Her breath hitched when she felt the smooth finish of Ramier's leather gloves brush against her palm and looked at him, startled.
Too preoccupied to not notice that they were already in front of his Royal Majesty's carriage, she looked at Ramier hesitatingly as he prompted her up onto the carriage. Catching the gloomy expression on his face, she wanted to ask him if he was fine but instead, she tilted her head, trying her best to avoid seeing each other face to face.
'It's probably not the right time.'
When she was successfully seated on the spacious carriage, she focused her eyes on the window. She could only see how he sat beside her with her peripheral vision, which he quickly noticed.
Biting her lips and pretending that she was busy, she only looked his way when she heard him clear his throat.
