'It's too late.' I thought staring at the lifeless bodies lying on the ground. 'I have to help him.'
"You need to leave, now."
"But my team, they're still on the way." The voice protested. "Let's just wait a little more-"
"They are not coming." I cut him off. "Your team isn't anywhere near this place. I would've known otherwise."
"Are you wearing an earpiece?" I asked him out of the blue.
"Y-Yeah." He replied despite feeling nervous. "But it's not working right now."
"Listen carefully, stranger. I can help you get out." I heaved a heavy sigh before I continued speaking. "The whole institution is probably in a state of confusion because of what you did. It's most likely that a whole team of specialized guards are making their way here to stop me from escaping."
"The reason why your head piece isn't working is because I cut off all connection from this part of Xellene from the world. And because of what I did, they do not have a single clue that an imposter is in here with them. If anything, they think that I'm trying to escape by myself".
The temperature around me suddenly grew stale, probably because of the dead bodies lying around me but still I continued.
"I can only help you this much as I don't know the where the exits are but since you got in, I'm sure you'll know how to get out."
I looked at the camera, knowing that he could see me.
"So go now before they check the monitor room."
Just when I finished my sentence, I realized that the guards had already reached the second gate. 'Well, that was quick.'
"Why are you helping me so suddenly?", he asked, his tone was almost as if he was unsure. "Because you promised", I answered him honestly, "To get me out of this prison". "If you think that I'm helping you out of pity, then you're obviously wrong", I said, "Because I don't feel what you do"
"You promised to get me out", I said again, "That was more than enough". "I...thank you Hel. I own you my life", he said and there was silence, he left. "STOP RIGHT THERE!", a loud and demanding voice screamed behind me. I turned to look and sure enough the guards were here to put me back in place. They were all armed with high tech firearms this time which were of course, created by the institution. I recognised them from one of my training sessions a few months ago. 'Those things hurt, a lot', I thought standing perfectly still like they instructed, 'Surely, they don't intent to shoot?'. The whole room stood silent, none of the guards dared to lose their focus on me in case I'd do something. Just then, I was attacked by an excruciating yet familiar pain coming from my neck, it was the chip, someone was inside the monitoring room. Desperate to stay conscious, I forced myself to withstand the electrocution but it didn't seem like it was going to end.
I was kneeling now, the voltage was just to strong for me to keep standing. Instantly, I was surrounded by the guards in all directions, aiming their pistols at my head. My mind grew blank because of the pain I was feeling and before I could even react, I was tied up in a straight jacket and was forced to wear a muzzle. 'I hate this', I thought, trying to free myself from the restraints but it was hopeless. Too tired to resist any longer, I gave in to the pain and stopped moving, knowing full well that it was just going to make it worse. They bought in the transporting cube, along with more restraints and unfortunately for me, things weren't looking so good. "The subject has been claimed", the leader said into his earpiece, "But, send in the 'cleaners' as casualties has been caused". He looked at the corpses laying around him after that, fear and disgust evident in the expression that he was showing me.
He continued to stare at me as his men hoisted me into the cube, locking me up with more metal chains as if I was a safe full of money except, they weren't doing this because I was valuable. They all looked at me with suspicion as I stayed still without thrashing around like before, especially the captain. "They were some of my best men", he said as his men finished their job, "Passionate youths filled with potential in what they do and now...dead, all of 'em". A string of silence fell among everyone in the room, no one was talking, just pure silence. "I'm sorry... is that what you want me to say?", I asked tiredly, my voice filled the room despite it being barely audible, "Why? Why should I apologise for doing what I was made for?". I stared at him as I said that, he didn't look like he was angry but, maybe pity? "Isn't it funny?", I said resting my head on the side of the cubicle, "They made me like this and yet they're the most scared, as if they weren't the creators of this 'monster'".
"I'm not asking you to pity me captain", I signed heavily, a few of the men flinching as I did that, "All I ask of you is to never blame me for the deaths that were bound to happen, be it an accident or on purpose". "Captain, Dr. Blake has arrived", a young man interrupted, his expression uneasy, "He wants to see you immediately". The captain said nothing for awhile until he pointed at a group of men and said, "I want the five of you to guard her while I'm gone". The men nodded silently and stationed themselves around my immobile state as the captain followed the young guard outside. I closed my eyes to block out the now annoying brightness of the lighting in the room. As exhausted as I was, I knew that this ordeal was far from ending and judging from the sudden tension when Blake's name was mentioned, I knew that he was mad. 'He's surely going to plan more experiments on me', I thought secretly enjoying the silence surrounding the cold room, 'Maybe I shouldn't think about it'.

'I can't believe this!', Liam thought as he hurriedly ran from the parking lot towards the institution. Just a few minutes before, he was quietly enjoying the scenic view at the diners that Blake frequented. Now because of a sudden emergency call that Blake received, he was dragged back into this madness but now was not the time to complain. 'If she truly gets loose', he thought, sweat dripping down his forehead despite the cool environment inside Xellene, 'Who knows what she's thinking of doing'. Despite his worries, it seems like his mentor was worried for totally different reasons, maybe getting fired was worse than a world catastrophe. He arrived at the corridors of the fourth floor shortly after Blake did, which surprised him greatly that the old man was so good at running. He stopped right behind Blake gasping for air while his mentor stood there in silence. Once he felt like he could breathe properly, he proceeded to look at what made Blake so quiet and boy did he regret that. The entrance looked like a mass murder scene, with mysterious people in white hazmat suits carrying several corpses away from the room. The bodies were all covered from head to toe so thankful, Liam was able to withstand his strong urge to vomit right there and then.
A group of guards immediately recognised Blake and went over to report what happened. Liam barely heard the conversation as he felt too sick to listen, instead he quietly excused himself to a corner to collect himself. Only then did he realised that he had tremendously underestimated the power that Hel had, 'Something like her shouldn't be left alive', he thought. Just then, he heard rushed footsteps coming towards him, it was Max and Celia. "We came as fast as we could. What the fuck happened?", Max asked, confusion and worry laced his eyes as he examined me, "You okay Liam?". "Y-yeah", he managed to say, "Just, feeling a bit sick". He didn't seem to understand until he looked towards the entrance, his eyes slowly widening in horror as he whispered under his breathe, "Jesus Christ". Celia on the other hand reacted in a similar way as Liam, covering her mouth as she turned the other way, avoiding the horrific sight.
"What happened?", Max asked again, his eyes glued to the entrance as if he wasn't disgusted at all. Liam told him everything he heard from Blake, both Max and Celia listened intensely, their expression worsening every second. "It's all my fault", Celia whispered, her face filled with guilt and fear, "If only I did my job a bit more seriously-". She stopped talking when Max gently held her hand as a way to calm her down which surprisingly worked as she seemed calmer now. "It's no ones fault", he looked at the gruesome sight, "Let's just all calm down and try to understand what really happened". Both Liam and Celia nodded in approval and once they calmed down, walked into the room to meet up with Blake. "Are you sure there was no intruders found?", Liam heard Blake asked coldly, "Even the security department was bugged".
"My men searched every nook and cranny capable of hiding and confirmed that they found no one", the captain explained, "Considering the evidence, I believe that this was all Hel's doing". "What is her current status?", he asked rubbing his temples, this was a sign that Liam knew too well, he was furious. "For now, we successfully managed to obtain her although", he hesitated for a moment before he continued, "We lost several men during the conflict". "Compensate the families generously", was all Blake could say about that, "The cause of death can be whatever you wish to tell them, except the truth". The captain seemed upset but he decided to keep his thought to himself and replied, "I understand". Once he left, Blake turned to us or more specifically, to Celia, the anger in his expression slowly growing, "You, explain yourself".
