Kenji looked into Ardere's eyes searching for any sign that she was lying and found nothing.
"Yeah, no, bullshit cause i'm right here."
"Kenji, how can you say we are a team and continue to treat me like a moron, it's in our history books that humans were killed off by the Demon King Of Slaughter 2,400 years ago. There is no way you are human because even humans could use magic while they were still around."
"Then we must be talking about two completely different Humans cause I come from a planet ruled by humans with no magic. We know of magic, but the best we actually got is slight of hand and tricks."
Ardere could hear no lies in the words Kenji spoke, but for there to be a whole planet completely separate from her own with nothing but Magicless humans then she had no choice but to think it was a lie.
"Look if you don't want to tell me then don't, but we are supposed to have trust between each other."
"Alright then, don't believe me it doesn't matter what I am lets just get back on topic." Kenji had barely uttered these words when they heard the bells ring.
"Looks like we talked too long, it's time for lunch." Ardere said as she went up to her belongings and picked up a wand that was sitting on top of her folded uniform and swirled it around, then all of a sudden the clothes she was training in had been replaced with her uniform and her dirty clothes had been folded in place of the uniform. Ardere put her wand away and began to walk leaving the training clothes on the bench where she had her belongings.
"Aren't you going to take those." Kenji said as he followed her.
"There's no need, a servant will arrive shortly to take them to be washed and will return them to my room."
"If that isn't the laziest shit I have ever heard of then I don't know what is." Kenji said.
"I'm not being lazy!" Ardere exclaimed. "Students need all the time they can get to study and train, that is why the servants take care of the dirty clothes and clean our rooms."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night." Kenji said as they left the training hall and headed into a hallway with students all heading in the same direction.
"By the way, why does it feel like this bell rang a lot sooner than the others?"
"That's because the classes they hold today focus on students learning and practicing new spells, and when you learn a new spell it can drain your stamina very quickly so lunch is eaten earlier than usual on these days." Ardere explained.
Kenji followed Ardere down the halls through twists and turns until eventually they reached a set of doors that were wide open revealing a massive room with several long tables.
Students each sat in a chair at the table conversing with their companions and friends. Ardere and Kenji walked through the room until they found a table that had two empty chairs next to another. The two sat down and waited patiently as the servers came from the back room with cart after cart of plates covered by cloches.
The servers would put the plates down on the tables and once every table was filled with plates, all at once the servers pulled the silvers cloches off the plates letting a puff of steam escape from the silver dome before it revealed the exquisite food underneath still steaming and fresh.
Kenji couldn't help but cringe. While everyone was used to being treated like royalty; Kenji had only seen trash treat him like even worse trash and was not used to this type of service.
Kenji waited for a moment as the students all picked portions of the food and plated it before he made his selection. He picked an even portion of meat along with greens and other vegetables. even while in another world his mothers words rang in his ear. 'Don't be a picky eater, we don't have the luxury to eat whatever we want.' Even though now he did have the luxury to eat whatever he wanted, those words were carved into his head.
The room was lit up with chatter and the clang of knifes, forks and spoons as everyone ate. Some time had gone by of the two eating before the student next to Ardere stood up and walked off, then another student with long black hair that was tied back sat down in the exact same seat.
"That seat was taken Ian." Ardere said with a cold bite in her tone.
"Yes it was taken, now its taken again. I just wanted to make sure you weren't going to back out of our little arrangement, since a little birdy told me you weren't in class today."
"I got permission from the Head Master to train with my Summon."
"Oh and where is the famous Summon of Ardere Daemonium is it hidden in your coat?"
"My summon is not an imp."
"That's right I had heard your summon was larger and caused quite the commotion during the first day."
"I'm not backing out of the duel so just mind your own until then."
"Well that's no way for a lady to act. How about you mind your manners and i'll go easy on you during the duel."
Ardere's blood was boiling and every fiber of her being wanted to slap him and just before she could Kenji spoke up.
"Well shit even as a completely different race nobles are arrogant assholes."
Kenji leaned his chair back to look past Ardere.
Ian narrowed his gaze to kenji. The boy was leaning the chair on its back two legs and looked at Ian with annoyance.
"Who might you be? one of Ardere's pathetic friends?" Ian sneered
"Oh please were barely acquaintances."
"Then i suggest you mind your own business before you make a powerful enemy."
"From what i'm hearing were already enemies. its a pleasure to meet you young jackass, im the infamous summon."
Ian's face twisted into anger.
"Well it makes sense that Ardere would summon such an ugly, vulgar and impudent being such as yourself."
"Oh how you flatter me, but arent you one to talk you look like you were born with a silver spoon up your ass."
Ian stood up from the table pushing his chair back making everyone silent as they all watched.
"Your words are as ugly as you. It doesn't matter however when the time comes i'll make you wish you were never born."
"Well now i am kind of wishing i wasn't born so i wouldn't have to listen to any of your yapping. fucking aye man you remind me of my neighbors annoying ass chihuahua; all bark and no bite."
"well you seem to lack etiquette, i'm guessing your a peasant. It all makes sense now your parents must have been lacking the knowledge to teach you to respect those above you."
Kenji began to laugh loudly so much so it made everyone including Ardere uncomfortable. Kenji stopped laughing and got up from his chair and stood in front of Ian with an amused grin on his face.
"What makes you think your above me?"
"Well it seems your just as unintelligent as your parents. exactly what morons came together to make such a mistake as yourself."
Kenji began to laugh hysterically before. stopping and taking a step forward to get into Ian's face. Glaring at Ian with piercing eyes and a malicious smile Kenji spoke in a threatening tone.
"Oh I'm so gonna kick your teeth in."
Ian was spreading mana throughout his hand, getting ready to let out his anger when from behind him his hand was grabbed and pulled back. Kenji never looked behind Ian and only kept his eyes on him while Ms.Black pulled Ian back.
"Landegra you have caused enough trouble during meal times. The Head Master let it slide the first time out of respect for your father, but any more disturbances and you will be eating your meals in your room for the remainder of the year. Do you understand?"
Ian pulled his arm from the teacher and gave another glare back to Kenji and Ardere before walking away.
The teacher watched Ian as he walked away and then turned to Kenji as he still watched the last spot he had seen Ian.
"Ms.Daemonium I advise that you control your summon before he gets you into trouble."
"I advise you watch your back woman. Don't think I forgot what you did to me a few days ago, I'm always one to return favors that are delt to me Alice." Kenji said
Alice felt a shock go through her spine as she looked to Kenji and he had his gaze set on her.
"How do you know my name?"
"I have my ways."
Kenji walked up to Alice until he was only a few inches from her face. Alice wasn't short, but neither was Kenji he actually had to look down slightly to have eye contact with Alice.
"I'm only going to tell you this once. No one owns me and if you ever think im nothing more than some servant again, i'll chain you up like one." Kenji said emphasising the word "You".
Alice felt the malice in his words as his eyes showed no signs of lying. This boy was dangerous, magic or not.
Alice backed away from Kenji, but all the other students were still watching. If she let him get his way then the other students will just act out and threaten her and the other professors to get their way. Alice needed to do something to get the boy to compromise.
"I don't want any fighting from either of you until the end of the week, and any fighting you do needs to be official. So no sudden brawls, if you wish to fight then challenge them to a duel and if they accept, then a time will be set for the fight and a teacher will be present to evaluate."
Ardere stood up from her chair and stood next to Kenji.
"We understand."
Alice looked to the two nodded her head and walked out of the dinning hall. Alice had never felt such hatred and anger from simple words in her entire life. Kenji sent shivers down her spine and kept her on edge whenever she was around him. he was like a bomb; ready to explode and kill everyone before they even knew what hit them.
Melodi had been in a different world all day. She had finally met someone she could be close to and as the day came closer to meeting her, Melodi's excitement had left her in her own world. Even during lunch Melodi couldn't concentrate on eating as she thought of Ardere.
However her mind not only drifted to Ardere, she also thought of the strange boy she had bumped into. Melodi had never met a Demon like him, even though his features were different he still looked handsome.
Melodi had gone into a sort of auto pilot mode as she ate food so she could think about the two people she had met today. The boy had asked where the training hall was and so there was a chance he would be there when she went to meet up with Ardere.
Melodi had heard a commotion in the Dinning Hall as she ate, but didn't care to pay attention to it as she had other things on her mind. Melodi had finished eating and left the Dinning Hall to prepare for her next class as did a few other students, and as the day went on Melodi couldn't help but feel like each second of the day dragged on as she waited for the final bell to ring.
