Chapter 5 - I Beg Your Forgiveness, Saint

Feng Zheng yanked a dazed Feng Mo'er over and pushed her to the ground.

"Apologize to the Saint, Mo'er!" He roared.

Feng Mo'er hesitated, still stunned, when she recalled how her siblings had been going on and on about how the Saint owned the four seas, how powerful he was, and how he received the title of 'Saint'.

About a hundred years ago, the Saint had trapped and sealed the ancient beat 'Tao Wu' and saved tens of thousands of spiritists. It had taken him only five minutes to do so, and he was highly respected by everyone on the Canglan Continent since then.

It was too bad that she had only been four years old when the Saint decided to isolate himself from the outside world.

"How dare you hesitate, Mo'er?! Apologize to the Saint right now," Feng Zheng barked impatiently.

Feng Mo'er raised her head slightly and noticed that although the person in the white sedan remained quiet, the six spiritual masters who were standing respectfully at both sides of the sedan were glaring at her furiously. Their vicious looks seemed to say that they wanted to tear a peasant like her apart for disrespecting the Saint.

Feng Mo'er's look of admiration instantly turned into one of fear.

The person in the sedan was the Saint, after all!

"I beg your forgiveness, Saint. I… I misspoke, please forgive me," Feng Mo'er stammered as she kowtowed, her forehead touching the ground. The person in the sedan remained silent. Not knowing what the Saint was thinking, Feng Mo'er remained in that position fearfully.

Feng Mo'er's forehead began to turn red after a while.

"Where is your sympathy for this little beauty, Brother? Look at how her forehead is bruised from touching it to the ground. I feel pity for her," said a voice teasingly from afar.

Yu Xiao appeared in ice blue attire with bamboo leaf embroidery, and he looked elegant with a feather fan in his hand and a jade flute at his waist. His teasing tone and the playfulness in his eyes hinted at his gentle and carefree nature.

The man in the sedan finally replied tonelessly, "I never blamed her—why should I stop her when she was the one who willingly kowtowed to me?"

Yu Xiao's lips twitched; he was speechless.

Even Feng Mo'er who had turned quite pale from holding her position for so long was stunned, and her pretty face flushed in embarrassment.

"Master." The six spiritual masters bowed and greeted in unison.

Before they could get on their knees to show their respect, Yu Xiao waved his hand to stop them.

"It's fine. Is it not tiring to kneel and get up, then kneel again?" Yu Xiao asked lightly.

Yu Xiao was an easy-going man. Despite being the leader of a clan, Yu Xiao did not like to be bound by tedious rules. To him, things like royal etiquette and sacrificial ceremonies were not as important as the birds and plants that he kept.

Yu Xiao found a spot to sit and immediately leaned back lazily, fanning himself with his feather fan.

"Why were there signs from the heavens? And this sacrificial ceremony—" Yu Xiao started but was interrupted by Feng Mo'er who stood up and called out rudely, "Leader Yu, it was all because of that slave. She killed the ritual beast and ruined the ceremony, and performed demonic spells when I tried to teach her a lesson. Her spells drew the signs of the heavens and almost hurt me!"
