"Grandmother, did you wake up very early to make noodles for me?"
"I make you noodles every year…for long life," Grandmother replied with a smile.
When Ye Tianxin got up, she then went to the dining area and looked at the bowl of noodles on the table. There were long strands of longevity noodles in the clear broth. There were also spring onions on top.
Ye Tianxin then sat down, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat the noodles slowly.
The smell of the noodles made Ye Tianxin feel sad. Her eyes welled up. Then tears trickled down her face.
"Does it taste bad?"
Ye Tianxin shook her head. "No, Grandmother," she answered. "It is delicious!"
Her 18th birthday meant that Ye Tianxin was no longer a child.
She had looked forward to this day. She had waited for this day for too long.
After eating the longevity noodles, Ye Tianxin slung her backpack over her shoulders and went to school.
