Huo Jinyan pressed his forehead and stood up to take the phone before going out to talk.
Huo Tingrui heaved a small sigh of relief. He moved his eyes and pulled up a chair to sit down. He took a bun and ate it while remaining deeply preoccupied.
Huo Yao leaned against the table and glanced at Huo Tingrui pensively.
Huo Tingrui and Huo Yao did not talk much while they quietly ate. Moments later, Huo Jinyan came back after talking on the phone. Upon close scrutiny, it was clear that he looked a little different when he came back.
He placed the phone on the table and Huo Tingrui raised his head to ask. "Is he coming?"
"Nope," answered Huo Jinyan mildly.
The moment Huo Tingrui heard this, he did not continue asking. Instead, he lowered his head to eat.
Huo Jinyan was so affected by the phone call that he lost his appetite and put down his chopsticks altogether.
He glanced at his daughter and sighed in his heart.
