The chief glanced at the file in Yang Yi's hand and recalled the matter of the report, so he was completely unsuspecting. He simply raised his hand. "Okay then. Just leave it on my desk. I have a guest with me, so you can leave."
The chief stopped looking at Yang Yi. Instead, he invited the middle-aged man beside him to take a seat.
As the middle-aged man sat down, his eyes paused on Yang Yi for a couple of seconds.
Yang Yi pretended not to notice. He simply placed the report on the table and left the office.
The sound of the door closing gently could be heard.
"Who's the guy?" asked Shangguan Hou curiously.
The chief poured Shangguan Hou a glass of water. "That was Zhu from the technical department. He joined the base just slightly over a year ago, but he's good."
Shangguan Hou thanked the chief for the tea. "No wonder he looks unfamiliar."
