Bai Chuwei suddenly stood up from the hood of that car, looked down at Duan Feihan, and then hurled herself at him.
Caught off guard, the man staggered backward two steps when Bai Chuwei's sudden embrace hit him, then he quickly wrapped his arms around her waist to steady himself. A faint scent of medicine swirled around his nostrils, causing a jolt of emotion to shake the depths of his eyes.
Bai Chuwei buried her head against his chest and took in a couple of deep breaths, feeling that today was worth it, so she could skip going back for her pills.
A bargain.
Bai Chuwei stole a glance at the Sandalwood Buddhist Beads on his left wrist, struggling to resist the urge to take them off him.
Duan Feihan coughed and pulled Bai Chuwei out, "Your action just now was too dangerous."
