Pyrian
Already it has been two days since she has left. I can't even function right. I've been lashing out at everyone. And what good does it do me? None, that's what.
I hate this. Why did I even make her leave? Cause of my so called family. When it's only my life on the line. In my head I knew that wasn't true. That wasn't true at all actually. They would have her head to make me surrender.
My mother especially. I still love her but she has always been power hungry. I don't think that will ever stop honestly.
Part of me wonders if Zenaya will be okay on her own. Hopefully she makes it to another region before someone else finds her.
I sit up out of bed, looking at the red curtains and the light filtering through them. It was early in the morning, not quite sunrise but enough of it to know it's coming.
Should I send a raven?
No.
I should let her go. She is safest that way.
Right?
I shake my head once more. Enough of that you have things to do. I grab by belt and scabbard. I hook it into place. I needed to spar.
Get some of my frustration out. Perhaps go see my abuela.
I move to walk out the door but a feeling has me step back and as I do so a axe swings and inch in front of my face.
If I was standing where I was a few moments ago, my face would be on the axe itself. On the side of the axe was a large letter C. Coldir I'm guessing.
I smirk.
Fine. We will play games then.
Zenaya
It had been two sunrises. I managed to find a river for myself and my horse to drink at. We slept there the first night and then on the second night a cave that was halfway abandoned.
I woke up with a animal tucked into my arms.
But I didn't care. I was too preoccupied with my thoughts.
Why did he make me leave?
I shake my head.
I shouldn't dwell on it. For now I have things to take care of, like finding food. My horse was easy to take care of in that department.
There was grass everywhere.
But I still felt bad. He was a sweet thing.
I gently lay the animal down on the ground beside me and get up. I yank my hair into a somewhat decent ponytail.
I look around the cave. It was nice. Held heat very well and even was kind of cozy.
I snuffed the fire out that I had going. I pack up the bedding and sling the pack over my shoulder.
I walk outside and see my horse, I have yet to name him, scratching his head on the side of the tree.
I smile, allowing this small thing to brighten my day.
Then everything comes rushing back in and I'm back to my sour mood.
I have to find a place we can rest and maybe stay longer than one night. Me being a female, I needed to get out of here as soon as possible. Men, demon and human alike, always took advantage of a woman. And I didn't know how to defend myself. I mean just because it seems easy doesn't mean I know how to do it.
I tried to go through what I would do if something happened but every path ended with me being in a lot of trouble.
I hop onto my horse and give him a light kick to go forward.
The trees are beautiful and green here. The leaves large and lush.
I could stay out here forever. Besides the bugs.
But even they weren't so bad.
A humming noise comes from my right and I sit alert in my saddle, weary of the noise.
The words become a little clearer.
" The waves push,
And the waves pull
But never quite as daunting as your lull.
My heart it sways
Just as your ship
Sails all the ways."
It was a simple melody that was daunting and mesmerizing at the same time.
I think the voice is females but just to make sure.
I ride a bit downwind and hop off.
I creep back to the humming noise and then once again I hear it. I slowly follow it and come across a lake. There are three beautiful woman standing by the shore.
I don't want to say hello, but one of them spots me and waves at me to join them.
I even look behind me to see if they are being serious.
They giggle and nod and point at me again.
I step out onto the sandy shore.
"Hello."
They walk up to me and I immediately shrink back, still to used to the brothel.
Instead, they envelope me into a hug.
"Hi dear one. My name is Saya, and these are my sisters Nora and Kya."
" I'm Zenaya. It nice to meet you all."
The other two woman nod and smile.
" We are nymphs of the region next to Daedalus."
I smile. " Oh you guys are passing through?"
They look confused.
" Dear, don't you mean your the one who is passing through?"
My jaw drops.
Saya points South.
" Daeyalus is that way about twenty miles or so."
I rub my eyes.
They giggle.
"Did you bring a horse? If so let's go fetch it and we can give you food and shelter tonight." I nod.
"Thank you so much that would be so kind of you."
I know it's not really smart to trust people you first met. But these were nymphs and nymphs were, at least I was told, the species of giving. Meaning they always wanted to help and love those surrounding them.
We stop on the way to there place to pick flowers in the woods. They braid my horses mane and he nickers, loving the attention.
They even place a wreath of flowers on my head and I smile.
Nora sees my smile and drops back to walk with me.
" You have such a gorgeous smile."
I turn to look at her. " Thank you. Yours is absolutely splendid."
She smiles at the complement.
" If you don't mind my asking, why are you here from Daeyalus?"
At that I turn my head down, I had almost forgotten about the king.
Then I kick myself, how could you even forget the king? A face like that? Are you kidding me right now?
" Well, it's not really a why. I didn't even know I was here until you told me really. I was at a brothel working since I was young and my parents gave me up for money. Someone paid my price and now I'm free. That's about it really."
Nora nodded. I grabbed a leaf off of a tree as we passed a huge oak tree.
Nora grabs my hand.
" Don't worry, your safe now."
