Chapter 645 - Jin of Pride

"Venusaur, use 'Wood thorns' and 'Field control' and create a barrier around you as much as you can.", said Axel.

Venusaur was fast on following Axel's commands.

Venusaur created multiple thick wooden walls that covered the front of it. It then used its 'Vine whip' to get away from Tyranitar's charge. But Tyranitar was very fast and it could not completely dodge the attack. Tyranitar broke those wooden walls and it hit the left side of Venusaur. Venusaur was flung away by the impact and 2 massive sounds came from the impact.

One was of Tyranitar crashing on the stage as it could not handle the speed and the second one was Venusaur crashing into the ground. The storm that was raging for the past 15 minutes suddenly slowed down. It was still there but it was nonexistent.

The crowd was silent as everybody looked at both of the Pokemons. This was a crucial moment.

Surprisingly, both of them \were trying to stand and none of them had fainted. Both were tired and injured but Venusaur had a massive injury on its left side. Blood was flowing from it and it looked badly swollen.

"Venusaur, cancel 'Grassy terrain'", said Axel.

Venusaur gave a low roar as it canceled the move. All the grass that was in the stadium started to vanish. No, they didn't vanish. All of these grass started to surround Venusaur and covered Venusaur. Then Venusaur which was now not visible as it was covered by lots of grass started to shine in green light and it gave a low roar.

After a few seconds, the grass disappeared and everyone could see that Venusaur had recovered a lot of its health. It was not completely healed but it was ready to fight. The blood from its left side had vanished and instead of being badly swollen, it was only swollen a little bit.

ROOOOOARRRR.

Venusaur gave a big roar to show its dominance. Everyone was surprised to see that Venusaur had yet another move to recover so much of its health. There were a lot of Pokemons that could recover their health during battle. It was not something new. However, they had many restrictions. Either they could recover a negligible amount of health over a period of time like in the move 'Grassy Terrain' or they could recover a huge amount of health but only 1 or 2 times.

Venusaur had recovered a massive amount of its health 4 times during the battle. It was like having 4 extra lives while battling. This was just a cheat. Jin looked at Venusaur and then looked at his Pokemon.

He could tell that Tyranitar had many injuries now and it was extremely tiring. However, Venusaur had recovered a lot of its health and also had more stamina than Tyranitar to fight again.

"I lost.", said Jin and called out Tyranitar inside the ball.

There was no way that he was going to win this battle now and it was now pointless to extend it.

"Meet me in the waiting room. We will have to discuss which position to give to you in my team.", said Axel and then walked off to the doctors to look at his Venusaur. Even though it had recovered a lot of its health, he wanted to make sure that it was doing okay.

###

"So, that concludes the battle of Jin and Axel. This was truly exciting. I never thought that Venusaur was going to win it by such a large margin. This tells us to never underestimate any Pokemon no matter how weak they seem...", the announcer started to conclude the battle of both of them.

"Venusaur is okay now. It would take some time to heal fully. But I would like to do more tests, just to make sure.", said the nurse.

"Yes, please. I will come and pick it up after a few hours.", said Axel, and then he turned towards Venusaur.

"I am going to meet Jin. I will be back in a few hours.", said Axel.

After making sure that Venusaur was okay, Axel went ahead to meet with Jin in the waiting room.

Axel went to the waiting room and waited for Jin. Jin was also taking care of his Tyranitar. Even though Tyranitar lost and had suffered many injuries compared to Venusaur, it was still a pseudo-legendary Pokemon. So, it was going to be okay and may recover faster than Venusaur.

"So, what do you want to talk about?", came a voice from behind. Axel turned around to find that it was Jin.

"Why don't we talk while we have some food? I am hungry.", offered Axel.

"I am okay with it as long as you are paying.", said Jin.

Axel agreed to it and then they both went to a restaurant. It was a high-end restaurant and it looked expensive. However, Axel didn't care cause he was going to get another powerhouse in his mercenary team.

"So, since you lost the bet, do you want to join my mercenary team?"

"Yes, I will do it."

"You know you don't have to do it if you don't want to. I cannot force you for it."

"No, I want to do it and I am the man of my word. So, I will do it."

"Good, now first tell me something about the organization that is supporting you.", said Axel.

"Why do you think that there is an organization that is supporting me?"

"Oh come on. You are from a middle-class family in Rose City. You don't have the capital to raise a Tyranitar without any help."

"So, you did a background check on me?"

"Of course, you think that I will let anyone join my team until I do such things?"

"That is fair, but I am not going to snitch on my previous organization.", replied Jin.

"I understand. I just want the name and what they generally do. I mean to say that I want to know their objective.", said Axel.

"Well, I don't know if you have heard or not, but I work for an organization called Pride. They are just a sub-organization of the bigger organization called the '7 deadly sins'. Their goal is to fight and overthrow the league."

"What? You are from Pride? Isn't that a criminal organization?"

"Yes, they are a criminal organization cause the league hates them to the bone."

"But they also steal Pokemons and kill young trainers."

"Yes, they do but I didn't join Pride so that I can overthrow the league. I did it to fill my stomach and get powerful Pokemons.", replied Jin.

Jin then gave a big sigh and then took a sip of his tea. Pride was the part of this life that he was not proud of. He came from a middle-class family and he didn't have the money to get a powerful Pokemon. He knew that if he wanted to be a strong trainer, he needed money and resources. That was why he joined Pride.

Even his family didn't know about it. They were only told that Jin works for an organization and that the organization is helping Jin.

"Ok, I trust you. But just so that you know, I don't like that organization. I won't ask you for the secret of that organization but there might come a time when you would have to fight against them. So, are you ready for it?", asked Axel.

"I am ready for that.", said Jin.

"That is what I like to hear. Before you jump to my team, I want to know why you chose my team. I mean I won't lie but my team is new and it might be weaker than Pride.", said Axel.

"Well, I feel guilty to be a part of a criminal organization. I want to be socially accepted. Even though, nobody knows about me joining them, they will surely find out in the future. I don't want my parents to feel ashamed of me. That is all.", replied Jin.

"I am satisfied with the reason. So, first of all, what should you do to get out of the organization? Since it is a criminal organization, there must be some compensation to pay."

"Yes, there is. Either we return all the Pokemons that Pride had given me or we pay the fine.", said Jin.

"So, how much is the fine?"

"10 billion Poke dollars."

"THAT MUCH? Why is it so high?"

"Well, I have a king-rank Pokemon. Even though I have hidden Tyranitar being a king-rank Pokemon to them, there is still one other king-rank Pokemon. So, I have a fairly good rank in the organization.

So, naturally, the compensation is high. The compensation is lowered as I have done a lot of service to the organization. If I had not done that, then the compensation might be 30 billion Poke dollars."

This Pride really was a money grubber. Obviously, Axel knew that Jin didn't have that kind of money. If he had that money, then he would have already gotten out of the organization.

"So, you want me to pay it."

"Yes, that is the gist of it."

Axel thought about it only for a few seconds and then he replied.

"Ok, I will do it. But first, you need to tell me all about your family and also about your Pokemon and their strength."

"Really, you agreed so fast?", asked Jin.

"Why do you look so surprised? I wanted you in my team from the beginning and now I am agreeing to it.", said Axel.

Jin realized that the team Axel was talking about was not so simple. 10 billion Poke dollars was a lot of money and even though he had 2 king-rank Pokemons, it was still a lot of investment.

Jin started to talk about his family and their situation and then they reached the training ground. Axel told Jin to show all of his Pokemons.

"Come out, Poliwrath.", said Jin and called out to Poliwrath.

Axel could immediately tell that it was a tier 1 king-rank Pokemon. Axel went near Poliwrath and started to observe its muscles and its body. He wanted to see how good it really was.

"Hmm, you have trained your Poliwrath really well but it lacks a lot of Vitamins and muscles. So, its fundamental base is weak. You need to work on that. Don't worry, I will help you in it.", said Axel.

Jin could agree to that. He had spent a lot of money on Tyranitar, this first official Pokemon, so he could invest a lot of resources on his other Pokemons.

Jin then called out his other 4 Pokemons. He had a total of 6 Pokemons with him.

Golbat, Decidueye, Snorlax and Electabuzz.

Golbat, Electabuzz, and Decidueye were in pseudo-king rank while Snorlax was in elemental rank.

These Pokemons shocked Axel. First of all,

"You have a Snorlax?"

"Yes, that is one of the reasons why I cannot provide good resources to my Pokemons.", sighed Jin.

Jin had caught Snorlax thinking that this would be a powerful Pokemon on its roaster but he was very wrong. Snorlax ate a lot and if it was fed good food, it would be a powerful Pokemon. But Jin was not as rich as Axel do it. So, now he was suffering from it.

Axel looked at his other Pokemon and then came to a conclusion.

"Jin, except for Golbat, none of them have a good foundation. This is very bad."

"Can it be reversed?"

"Yes, it could be done but it would take a lot of time and it would take a lot of resources. Don't about the resources, you will get a lot of them in the future.

Hmm, let's do one thing. Instead of joining the team, you will follow me for a couple of months. I will make sure that all of your Pokemons are in top condition."
