"Hey, I know that I am going to lose this battle. You are far stronger than me.", said Jin.
"Oh, you are smarter than others."
"Yes, I am. I know that you have not called out your best Pokemon yet. So, I want to make a bet with you."
"And what would that be?", asked Axel.
"You call out your Pokemon that had recently ranked up to king rank and I will do the same and we will fight. The winner would go to the finals."
"And why would I do that? I have far stronger Pokemons. Even though I am sure that I will win it, I don't want any risk."
"If I win, I will go to the finals but if you win, you can ask for any reasonable thing from me and I will fulfill it. Also, if you do this, you will not have to call out your best Pokemon and that would help you in the finals."
"Ok, then but you will be the first to take out your Pokemon. I want to see that you are not cheating.", said Axel.
"Yes, I have no problem.", said Jin and threw the ball in the air.
A big Pokemon came out and gave a huge roar to announce its presence. It was a large dinosaurian Pokemon with a green, armored-like hide covering its body. It had two pairs of pointed teeth: one in the upper jaw and one in the lower. Several spikes of varying sizes protrude from the back of its head, neck, and shoulders. Both sides of its chest, the center of its back, and its knees had two triangular holes. There was a gray, diamond-shaped patch of scales covering its belly and a smaller one on its back. It had three claws on its feet and hands. A ring of spikes surrounded the tip of its tail.
It was Tyranitar.
Axel had fought with many Pokemons in the tide and in competitive battle but he had never fought against a Tyranitar. Tyranitar was very rare to find and this trainer must be very resourceful to get one and even make it a king rank.
Tyranitar was a pseudo-legendary Pokemon and even though it was not a dragon-type Pokemon, it was very hard to evolve and rank up. It was not as hard as a dragon-type Pokemon, but it was a slow process. So, Jin having a king-rank pseudo-legendary Pokemon was a testament to his abilities. Jin was also very young. He was around 25 years old.
"So, you had Tyranitar. That was why you were so confident.", said Axel with a smile.
"Of course, I am not going to get into a bet without being sure that I will win it.", replied Jin.
For a normal trainer, this was going to be a difficult battle, almost impossible one. Tyranitar was a pseudo-legendary Pokemon. The gap between a normal Pokemon and a pseudo-legendary Pokemon would increase with every rank and at king rank, the gap would be very huge. So, it was almost impossible for a normal trainer and a normal Pokemon to win against Tyranitar when they were in the same rank. That was why Jin wanted this bet.
However, Axel was not a normal trainer.
"I have decided what I will make you do after I win.", said Axel.
"And what would that be?"
"I want you to be a part of my mercenary team. If you have any connection with another large organization, you will close that relationship and then come under my team. That is what I want. Are you ready for it?"
"Well, if you can beat me then I will follow your command.", said Jin.
"Haha, you really think that I cannot win this battle?", asked Axel.
"Yes, you cannot. You are just bluffing."
"Ok, let me call out my Pokemon, come out, Venusaur."
Venusaur appeared in the stadium and gave a big shout to announce its presence too. Looking at both of them, Venusaur looked too small compared to Tyranitar. Venusaur was around 5 feet tall while Tyranitar was around 7 feet tall monstrosity.
"Axel, Tyranitar might be weak to grass-type moves but that doesn't mean that it would lose.", said Jin with a soft smile.
He was thinking that Axel would call out another pseudo-legendary or even a legendary Pokemon to counter Tyranitar but he only called out Venusaur. Tyranitar had many weaknesses and grass was one of them but being a pseudo-legendary Pokemon, it would not just faint from one or 2 hits of grass-type moves. It had a huge defense to counter it.
"Oh, we will see about that.", said Axel.
"Are you both ready for battle?", asked the referee.
"No, just give me a minute.", said Axel and then looked at the status of Tyranitar.

This was a strong Tyranitar. It had recently ranked up to tier 1 king rank as he could tell by looking at the status but its moves were the ones that concerned Axel. Axel was thankful that it had learned its pre-domain move till now but it new 3 new moves.
Axel looked at the move description of those new moves:
---
Stone empowerment: With the help of minerals on the ground, the user would be able to empower their bodies making them more durable. This would also increase the attack stat of the user.
Volcanic Eruption: Erupt the ground so deep that it might cause an eruption of the Volcano. This would consume a massive amount of stamina.
Exo-Skeleton: With the help of minerals and rocks on the ground, the user will able to create an exoskeleton that would cover the whole body as another layer of skin but it would be as hard as the toughest bones. This would increase its defense and special defense to a high degree but also reduce its speed.
---
Jin was not kidding when he said that he was going to win this battle. Tyranitar had many defensive moves. First was the 'Iron defense', then 'Stone empowerment', and finally 'Exo-skeleton'. Axel was not even sure if Venusaur would be able to breach its defense.
If Tyranitar was not weak to grass-type moves, then Venusaur might not even have a chance. This was the power of a pseudo-legendary Pokemon.
"Are you both ready for the battle?", asked the referee again.
"Yes."
"Yes", said Axel too.
"Let the battle begin!!"
Just when the referee said to start the battle, a huge storm of sand arrived as Tyranitar gave a huge roar. This was its ability 'Sand stream'. It also used move 'Sand storm' which helped it raise such a huge storm in a short amount of time.
Venusaur was also not sitting still. It opened its mouth and 2 small suns came out, went high into the sky and started to expand. It was 'Sunny day'. Since the move had leveled up so much it was very fast.
"Venusaur, use 'Growth' and then use 'Grassy Terrain'.", said Axel.
It gave another roar as its size started to increase and the whole stadium was now filled with patches of grass. It became a grass field. Due to the grass field, the storm also decreased by a lot as the storm could not gather all the sand and rocks from the ground as there was grass on the ground.
"Tyranitar, use 'Earthquake'", said Jin, and Axel immediately said, "Use Vinewhip and raise yourself in the air."
Before Tyranitar was able to use the move 'Earthquake', 4 of its vines came from the back of Venusaur's body all of them hit with a very high force that propelled Venusaur to the air as it stood in the air with the help of those vines.
At that moment, Venusaur was literally flying when the move 'Earthquake' hit so it was not affected by it.
Tyranitar got angry when it saw that it was not able to do any damage. So, it powered up the 'Sandstorm' which started to uproot the grass on the stadium, and now with sands and rocks, there was also grass there were included in the storm.
"Venusaur, use 'Field control' and manipulate those grass. Also, use the move 'Razor leaf' on Tyranitar.", said Axel.
Those grasses that were also flying in the storm instantly seemed to have gained their consciousness as they moved towards Tyranitar to hurt them. As 'Field control' was being used during 'Grassy Terrain', not much stamina was being consumed.
All those grasses and newly created 'Razor leaf' hit Tyranitar on all of its body. The storm instantly decreased and it suffered some injury. Even though the move was grass type which was super effective against it, it was not so injured. It was ready for another round.
Taking advantage of some seconds, Venusaur used 'Grassy terrain' once again to recover all the grass that had gone out from the storm. It then used the move 'Energy ball'.
4 small energy balls came out and then they fused together. The fused green ball became big and it was spinning at a rapid pace. It then went ahead and then hit Tyranitar.
BOOM BOOM
ROOOOARRR
Tyranitar gave a huge roar and it looked like it was hit quite badly. Venusaur took advantage of it and immediately used 'Solar beam'. 2 yellow beams came out and then hit the same spot again.
As there was a storm going on and then the smoke and dust from the previous explosion, they didn't know if the move had been hit. Right now, Venusaur was recovering its stamina.
Others were surprised to see the quick attack moves of Venusaur. Even though Venusaur had used the move 'Sunny day', 'Solar beam' was not supposed to hit so fast, and 2 of them instead of one? That also didn't make any sense.
As Axel and Venusaur were trying to look where Tyranitar really was, Venusaur felt a shaking under its feet. Realizing that something was not right, it tried to move away from it but suddenly the ground that it was standing on broke open and Tyranitar came out of it with jaws that were made of fire.
At that time Venusaur had already moved to the right but Tyranitar could tell that Venusaur had dodged the attack and then turned itself as its tail was shining in silver light. Then the tail hit Venusaur on the face.
The force of the attack was huge and it was flung over to the stadium. It did manage to stabilize itself but now it had suffered its first hit.
Axel instantly knew what had happened. Tyranitar used 'Dig' and then came out using 'Fire fang' but somehow Venusaur was able to dodge both of those attacks. So, Tyranitar turned and used the move 'Iron tail' which finally hit Venusaur.
As Venusaur was flung to the other side, it was hit by invisible pointy rocks and now it had started to bleed from its body. This was 'Stealth rock'. Tyranitar must have used this when it was using the move 'Sand storm'.
Both of them were injured but due to Tyranitar's high defense, Venusaur looked more injured and it was just the start of the battle.
"Tyranitar, now use 'Iron defense' and 'Stone empowerment'"
The real battle had now started.
