"The test is very simple. It is a game and all of you can play this game. You will have to build a pyramid. Do you know what a pyramid is?
Then let me give a description. A pyramid is a three-dimensional shape. It has a polygonal base and flat triangular faces which join at a common point called apex."
Krookodile also started to draw the pyramid. Some of them had seen and heard about it but some of them had not. After drawing the picture, everyone was clear about it.
"The height of the pyramid should be 30 meters, the slant length on each side should be 50 meters and the breadth of the pyramid on each side should be 45 meters.
It doesn't end there. On one side of its lateral face, there should be a craving for Sandile, my first evolution stage. On the second side of its lateral face, there should be a craving of Krokorok and on the third side of its lateral face, there should be a craving of Krookodile. The last lateral face should be smooth.
You have till the end of the day to make this pyramid. The pyramid should be made from rocks and ground. Only Pokemons could participate in it.
And one final thing. Your Pokemon can only use ground-type moves or energies while making this. I will allow you to use 'Stone edge' as it would be essential and you guys might not be able to make one if I didn't allow it. I will give you 10 minutes to discuss and then you guys will start."
It was an interesting game but it was very hard. First, a Pokemon can only use ground-type moves. Second was the measurement. Krookodile had said that the measurement should be to the point. It was very hard to create such a pyramid with exact measurements.
Finally were the cravings. That was the hardest part.
Axel turned towards all of them and asked, "How many of your Pokemons have ground-type cores?"
Surprisingly Kate, K, and Ryker raised their hands. He knew that they had ground-type Pokemon but didn't know that they had ground-type cores except for K cause K had Sandslash. It was only a ground-type Pokemon.
"How many of your Pokemons have ground type?"
This time Lance, Frank, and Cody also raised their hand. Axel did a head count on how many Pokemons were going to participate in this battle.
First were the Pokemons that had ground-type cores:
1. Steelix (Axel)
2. Nidoking (Axel)
3. Rhydon (Kate)
4. Krookodile (Ryker)
5. Sandslash (K)
Then there were those who had ground-type typings but didn't have the core mastery.
1. Flygon (Lance)
2. Steelix (Lance)
3. Golem (Frank)
4. Camerupt (Cody)
So, in total, there were 9 Pokemon that were going to participate in this competition. They only had 5 hours so Axel and the team had to make a fast decision.
"Since Steelix and Nidoking are the only king-rank Pokemons in the team, I will appoint Steelix as the leader of the team.", said Axel.
Steelix had the ground-type core for a longer time than Nidoking and it was better in ground-type moves than Nidoking. So, he chose it to be the leader.
"Axel, how are we going to make this pyramid thing? Even if we do, we cannot do it in 12 hours. The measurement would not be exact.", said Kate. She wanted to claim this island.
"We will divide and concur. Steelix would be the one to make the shape of the pyramid. Others would try the designs. We will divide it into teams. One team could start to train in Sandile design, others would train in Krokorok design and the final team would train in Krookodile design."
Nidoking and Camerupt started to train in Krookodile design. Krookodile and Steelix (Lance) started to train in Krokorok design. Rhydon and Golem started to Sandile design and finally, Flygon and Sandslash started to train in how to make the pyramid smooth.
Axel then turned towards Steelix to give it some suggestions.
"Steelix, you will be making the shape of the pyramid. It is the hardest part to do as the measurement should be exact. You will be using 'Stone edge' to create it."
Axel then went on to make marks around the ground. He made a triangular mark. The mark was the exact measurement that Krookodile had said. Since Krookodile had allowed them to use 'Stone edge' which was a ground type move, Axel knew that it would be the key to making a pyramid.
"Remember Steelix, the pyramid has to be in perfect shape and it should be hard. Others are going to make designs and if it is not hard, then it would fall out. Now, let's start the training of it."
Steelix closed its eyes and started to imagine. It then gave a huge roar and then rocks came out of the ground in a triangular shape. The result?
It was a complete failure.
It was not even in a perfect triangular shape. It was pointy in different places and it was bent in different places. The measurements were also widely out of place. It was small and it was inside the mark.
"Don't worry, this is just the first time. We still have 12 hours. Now start again."
ROOOARRRR
Axel then looked at Nidoking to give him advice. Nidoking was going to make the design of Krookodile. It was not easy to make a design. It had never done such a thing before and now it needed to complete it in 12 hours.
"Meg, listen to me very careful. You can use 'Mud bomb' in creating the design. The explosiveness of the 'Mud bomb' should be very minute and precise. Also, use moves like 'Sand hardening' to create a construct made of hardened sand.
You can also use moves like 'Sandstorm' if you really need it. All I am trying to tell you is that you have to use your own creativity to create it. I trust in you to do it."
The practice started at full speed. Since Steelix and Nidoking were in king rank, they didn't need to take many breaks. But that could not be said for other Pokemons.
Most of them were also in pseudo-king rank. However, the difference in stamina between the pseudo-king rank and the king rank was huge.
###
It has been 5 hours. There has been some progress but it was not enough. Steelix could not create the pyramid exactly in the mark but it could maintain the height of the pyramid and the lateral face of the pyramid was uneven.
The move 'Stone edge' also leveled up but that was still not enough.
"Steelix, let's change the strategy. Use 'Sand hardening' to harden the sand in such a way that the shapes would be exact.
You can also use 'Sand construct' if you really need it.', said Axel.
At first, Steelix was only using 'Stone edge' in making the pyramid. But controlling it perfectly was looking impossible. The pyramid cannot be created by joining pyramid structures cause that would make it weak and when others start to design it, it would break apart.
Then Axel came up with a new idea. Why doesn't he tell Steelix to create a pyramid in 4-5 big pieces? Others would make the design on each of the pieces and then when the design is complete, Steelix can join all the pieces with its 'Sand hardening'.
It was much easier to create a pyramid by combining these pieces.
After he came up with the idea, Axel communicated it with all of his team and they got to work on it.
###
Nidoking was also not doing well enough. So, Axel told Nidoking to change the strategy too.
"Instead of using 'Mud bomb' as a primary source of making the design, try to use 'Sand hardening' to do it. I feel that it would be much easier than before."
Nidoking and Camerupt started to make the design with this new concept and they were able to create it within a few hours.
---
Ding!
Nidoking's Mud bomb has leveled up to 50.
Ding!
Nidoking's Sand hardening has leveled up to 50.
---
Axel looked at their description and he was amazed:
---
Mud bomb (Nidoking): (Level 40): The mud would stick to the Pokemon making them slower.
(Level 45): The mud would harden and increase the weight of the Pokemon.
(Level 50): Nidoking can send 6-10 mud bombs to the target. Each of the bombs could be individually customized with regard to their power and size.
Sand Hardening (Nidoking) (Level 40): It is now in semi-solid form.
(Level 45): Nidoking can now make constructs of sand using it.
(Level 50): Nidoking can now choose to harden some of the sand and lighten some of the sand as per its wishes. That would consume a huge amount of stamina.
---
Nidoking had leveled up these moves which would make it even more powerful in the future.
After Nidoking and Camerupt completed their design, Steelix was also able to make the pyramid in 4 pieces.
Nidoking with the help of Camerupt made the design in one of the pieces and then they started to help other groups in making the design.
Only 4 hours were left before the end of this day. Nidoking and others took 2 hours to complete the design of Krokorok and then they moved to Sandile.
It only took 1 hour to make with the help of Nidoking and others.
Only 1 hour was left and it was now time to join these pieces. Before a few hours, they had already given up on this challenge but after Nidoking and Steelix made a breakthrough they started to hope.
Now, with 1 hour remaining, they had completed all the designs and they only needed to combine all the pieces of the pyramid.
"Steelix, combine it and then use 'Sand hardening' on it. Meg, you also help with 'Sand hardening'", said Axel.
All of them helped in combining the pieces and now it should be joined. Steelix and Nidoking started to use 'Sand hardening' to combine all of them and make them solid.
'Sand hardening' to Steelix had different properties than that of Nidoking but for this purpose, Steelix's 'Sand hardening' was more powerful as they could harden the sand to make it perfectly solid.
Both of them gave their all to combine all of these pieces. It took around 30 minutes but they were finally able to complete all of it.
Clap.. Clap… Clap…
They heard a series of claps. It was Krookodile who was doing it.
"Congratulations! I didn't think that you guys could even do it. There are some special trainers in your group.
Anyways, you have completed the test and that gives you the right to claim this valley.
However, do remember that you humans would be given first priority in the resources but the Pokemon here could also use it to their advantage.
Since you have claimed the island, it is now time for me to give you this.", said Krookodile.
It then took out a piece of paper out of nowhere. The paper looked a bit different than the normal paper. There was something written on it and it was glowing a bit.
"What is this?", asked K.
"This can help you teleport here any time you want from anywhere in the world but there is only one of it, so who wants to take it?", asked Krookodile.
Everyone looked at Frank but they didn't say anything.
As per their agreement, any new type of resources would first go to Frank and after that, there would be a battle if they find anything new than that. So, this valley should belong to Frank.
Yet, there was a small problem. This was the first resource place that they had found and there was no guarantee that they could find other places. So should all of them agree to give them to Frank or should they fight over it?
