Chapter 455 - Fighting King rank Pokemons

---

Ding!

Nidoking's substitute had leveled up to 50. Its substitute can now attack too. The power of the substitute would be 30% of the original power.

 ---

'That thing came on time', thought Axel.

It was just a single upgrade but it would now change the battle. Since the power of the move was only 30% of the original, Gengar was not hurt very badly even though it took the attack head-on.

Gengar then used 'Shadow ball' and this time the substitute was destroyed. It was happy that it could destroy one of the substitutes but its happiness was short-lived. By that time Nidoking had already prepared 'Spinning poison' and …

BOOOOMMMM

The power of the attack had increased a lot since it crossed level 60. Everyone on the battlefield was able to notice that explosion. It was huge. It should not be something that a tier 1 king-rank Pokemon could do.

The dust and debris settled and everyone could see the result of the explosion. Gengar was hurt and it was seriously injured.

Axel looked at its health.

 ---

Ding!

Pokemon name: Gengar

Health: 1000/5500

 ---

Even though it didn't have high health, it was still a king-rank Pokemon. It would not go down by a single move. Nidoking needed to use another 'spinning poison' to win.

Roooarrrrr

Suddenly, Nidoking gave a painful roar. Axel could not understand what was happening but a notification came that cleared things up.

 ---

Ding!

Gengar has successfully used 'Destiny bond'.

Ding!

Since Gengar is poisoned, Nidoking is also poisoned now.

 ---

After getting hit by 'Spinning poison', Gengar had been poisoned by Nidoking. However, Gengar was able to use 'Destiny bond'. Axel could not figure out when it was able to do it, but this was bad.

Gengar opened its mouth and started to laugh. A green-colored aura started to transfer from Nidoking to Gengar.

It was a surreal scene. Axel saw that Nidoking's health was decreasing and Gengar's health was increasing.

This must be 'Life suck'. Axel was now in a confusing situation.

"Meg, use 'Poison spread' and 'Poison damage transfer'."

Nidoking started to use its own life-suck move. It also used 'Poison spread' which was rapidly able to spread the poison all over Gengar's body. It then used 'Poison ball'.

Nidoking could now throw out 6 poison balls and they would explode and spread in a gas form.

BOOOm

Booom

Booom

Booom

Booom

Booom

All of these 'Poison ball' hit Gengar. Axel realized that even with 'Poison spread', 'Poison damage transfer' was weaker than 'Life suck'. Gengar was sucking more health than Nidoking.

Nidoking was now tied with Gengar through 'Destiny bond'. Axel had to do something to get Nidoking out of it but he just could not think of any way to do it.

The battle went on for 5 more minutes. Whenever Nidoking attacked Gengar, it would also lose part of its health due to 'Destiny bond'. It now could not even attack Gengar and Gengar was taking full advantage of it.

Gengar may have trained his move for a long time cause when Gengar attacked Nidoking, Gengar was not affected. Axel didn't know how much time it would take for 'Destiny bond' to be over but Nidoking was losing a lot of health.

Suddenly,

 ---

Ding!

Nidoking's ability 'Poison point' has evolved. Nidoking would not be poisoned from the same rank and lower rank Pokemon.

 ---

When a Pokemon reached king rank status, they had a chance to evolve their ability to higher form and Nidoking has just achieved it. A Pokemon would not naturally get a new function in their ability after they rank up to King rank. They would have to work hard for it.

This new function of 'Poison point' was great for the current situation. Since Gengar was also a king-rank Pokemon, Nidoking could not get poisoned even with the 'Destiny bond'.

This lowered the effects of 'Destiny bond' which was good for Nidoking.

"Meg, now use 'Poison domain' and then 'Spinning poison'.

ROOOAORRRR

Nidoking gave a huge roar and suddenly started to spew out the poison from its mouth and its body. Poisonous gas covered 7-meter radius. Gengar and Nidoking were now in the middle of poison swamp.

ROOOOARRR

 ---

Ding!

Nidoking has got out of 'Destiny bond'

 ---

2 substitutes came out. One started to assist the original and another one was ready to fight with Gengar. Gengar knew what was happening and it also knew that it could not take another one of those attacks.

'Gen GARRR'

Gengar started to spew 'Shadow balls' all over Nidoking. The substitute could now attack too. It started to use 'Mud bomb' and 'Poison ball' to defend itself.

'Spinning poison' was now at a very high level. So, it was also very fast. Within a few seconds, the attack had been completed and Nidoking threw the attack towards Gengar.

Gengar already knew that it could not disturb the making of the attack so it had already thought of a way to get out of here alive. The solution was to dodge the attack.

Gengar used every power on its body to dodge the attack and fortunately, it was able to dodge it. It was very happy and also had a smug on its face.

But suddenly it felt something. It felt its impending doom. It turned back and …..

BOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!

This was the most powerful 'Spinning poison' of Nidoking. When it leveled up to 60, its power was heightened if the move was used during 'Poison domain'.

When the move leveled up to 55, Nidoking could change the direction of the attack. So, when Gengar dodged the move, it was able to change the direction and send the attack right back to Gengar.

It took some time for the rocks and dust to clear. After it was cleared, Axel saw that Gengar was down and it was not breathing.

 ---

Ding!

Move capture has been activated.

Nidoking has learned 'Life Suck'

 ---

Move capture was activated very rarely. It had only been activated once before. The chances of activation was 30% but Axel seemed to have very low luck to activate it.

It had learned 'Life Suck' which was able to do the same as 'Poison damage transfer' but it was a bit better than 'Poison damage transfer' in some aspects.

Both of the moves could only be activated after the target is poisoned.

'Life suck' could be used without contact with poison or physical contact for 6 minutes. However, the upgraded version of 'Poison damage' could only do it for 3 minutes.

'Poison damage transfer' could be used in 3 targets but 'Life suck' could only be used in 1 single target.

'Poison damage transfer' could heal 30% of the damage taken by the target but 'Life suck' would heal 40% of the damage taken.

So, both had advantages and disadvantages. Nidoking could not use both of them at the same time but it could use either of them depending on the situation.

Nidoking was told to assist Beedrill and Venusaur. Beedrill was just a pseudo-king rank Pokemon. It was at the peak stage but it was still a pseudo-king rank Pokemon.

Mamoswine was assisted by Gyarados, Tauros, and Absol. Tauros had just come out of the illusion and only Pidgeot was left in a coma now.

Axel started to analyze the battle and noticed that Alakazam was not in good condition.

###

Alakazam VS Gengar.

It was facing a tier 1 Gengar. However, this Gengar was at the peak of tier 1. Alakazam had just ranked up to king rank. The only reason it was still able to battle Gengar was due to its weakness. Gengar was weak to psychic-type attacks.

The battle had already continued for 10 minutes and both of the Pokemon were injured. Alakazam didn't have high defense or health points and it was bleeding from its arms and face.

This Gengar had higher health points at 8,000. Axel could also see that it had higher defense than the previous one. Gengar was successful in using 'Hypnosis' 2 times and Alakazam was very drowsy now. It was night time so the effect of 'Hypnosis' was higher.

Alakazam was also weak to ghost-type attacks but it was very fast due to its 'Teleport' and it was able to dodge most of the attacks.

Finally 'Gengar' landed a full power 'Hypnosis' to Alakazam.

 ---

Ding!

Alakazam's ability 'Synchronize' has evolved. There is a 30% chance that the status moves inflicted upon it could be totally transferred to the opponent.

Ding!

Alakazam had transferred the sleep effect to Gengar

 ---

"Is Arceus favoring me?", asked Axel to himself.

Due to its ability to evolve and triggering the effect, Gengar was now fast asleep and Alakazam was wide awake.

"Light, use 'Rain dance', 'Thunder' and 'Elemental manipulation' and finish this battle.", said Axel.

The sky turned dark and rain started to come out. The sky roared and yellow colored spark came and struck the spear made out of thunder and then all of it landed on Gengar.

Gengar didn't even know that it had died in this battle. It was sleeping at that time.

"Light come back and use 'Recover' and rest for sometime."

Alakazam could have assisted others in the battle but it was injured. Axel wanted it to have full health. He didn't want to take any risk.

###

By this time, Nidoking, Beedrill, and Venusaur had already finished the battle. Mamoswine's team had also finished the battle.

Nidoking's team went on to assist Gogoat and Mamoswine's team went to assist Steelix.

After a few minutes, Axel's team was able to kill 6 king-rank Pokemons.

Axel saw that Agatha was also done with her battle and only Dragon and Clair were fighting with tier 2 king rank Pokemons.

Axel knew that he could not interfere in this battle so he started to assist the soldiers who were dealing with pseudo-king rank Pokemon.

Agatha started to help Clair and after 20 minutes, they were able to kill 12 king-rank Pokemons. That was a huge achievement.

King-rank Pokemons were difficult to kill. That was why they were only able to kill 13 of them in 4 days. Now, they had killed 12 of them in a single night.

The majority of the contribution was due to Axel and his Pokemons. Yes, he only dealt with tier 1 king-rank Pokemons but his team handled 6 of them.

After all the king ranks were dealt with, the rare ranks and elemental ranks started to run. By this time all the pseudo-king ranks were also killed by Axel and his soldiers.

###

"We had fallen before but tonight we have taken revenge. Revenge for all our soldiers that are still in coma. Revenge for all the brothers and sisters who sacrificed themselves.

We may have fallen before but tonight is the night of VICTORY!!!!"

HOAHH

HOAHHH

HOAHHH

The soldiers started to cheer and roar. This was a massive achievement. After this, they only had to take care of 2 king-rank Pokemons who were in tier 3 and the night raid would be over.

###

Axel had announced a victory celebration after they partially won the night raid. Now, only 2 king-rank Pokemons were left and Agatha could handle them without any worries.

The victory celebration was done for only one reason. That was to make soldiers believe that they had achieved a milestone. This was important cause if soldiers were only there to fight the tide, then their motivation would start to go down.

Axel had learned all of this in his previous tide. He knew how to make his soldiers happy.

###

"Damn! I could not believe that we killed 12 king-rank Pokemons. Our General may be young but he is very powerful"

"Yes, He is only 15 years old and he commands multiple king-rank Pokemons. I didn't have an elemental rank Pokemon at that time."

"That is true. I think we are lucky to have him. We lost 40000 soldiers when he was in a coma and how many did we lose today? Only 10 soldiers.

He just has that magic with him."

The soldiers were talking about how good Axel really was. This had also boosted his reputation. This was a major milestone. Now, he didn't have to worry about night raids. He could fully concentrate on day raids.

###

The day raids were going slow. They had not encountered a king-rank Pokemon in the day raid. Axel didn't have any problem with it. He could also go slow on it.

He realized that the tide would take 1-2 months to finish. The number of wild Pokemons was huge as compared to Burbos town so he had to take it slow.

"Hector, call all of them. We need to plan for the day ride."
