The room got silent after Axel told Oak's name. Oak's name had the power to cause silence. He was a Pokemon master after all.
"So this is what the league meant when they said that help was coming?"
The room was dark and small with a big round table in the middle. There were 7 grown men arguing about the upcoming Pokemon tide.
"Welcome Axel. Please have a seat. If the league wants you here then we would be happy. My name is Derek. I am the mayor of this town.", said the middle-aged man.
Axel could see a black line below his eyes. It is evident that the man had not slept for days. Axel nodded his head and took the only available seat.
"Mark, call the league again. We need some help. We can't deal with this tide.", said another middle-aged man.
"I have called them multiple times but they are not receiving the call. They only said that they would be sending a messenger. Are you the messenger kid?"
"I don't think he is. I believe he is the successor of Prof. Oak."
"I don't care if he is Oak himself. He is not going to be any help for us."
Then… WOSHHH…
Suddenly Alakazam appeared. Axel knew who it was. It was the Pokemon of Oak himself. He was quite friendly with this fellow. Its eyes turned purple and everyone could hear its voice inside its head.
"The league had decided about your town. Axel would be acting as one of the 5 zone commanders for this tide. He would be the leader and would be second in command after Salam. This position of his would be temporary but you are to give him equal respect."
"WHAT???", shouted Mark and stood up from his chair.
"Are you saying that the league is letting a greenhorn take over the leadership of the tide? Are you fucking kidding me?"
"Mark, calm down. We can't go against the league.", said Derek pacifying Mark.
"Here we wanted to get some help and what we got in return was even more trouble.", said another middle-aged man.
"Sir Alakazam, do we really have to follow such absurd order?", asked another middle-aged man.
"Don't question the orders. You are soldiers and your job is to follow the orders, nothing else", said Alakazam.
"But…
"You should listen to your mayor. The decision of the league is final. Since you question the orders so much, you will follow Axel and make sure that every order of his is carried out effectively. If you want to oppose it then you would have to face the consequences.
I would be here till the tide ends. If any of you disrespect Axel, you would have to deal with me", said Alakazam.
"But…"
"MARK… Sit down. You know we can't go against the league.", said Derek with a stern voice.
"But the league is basically using us to train his bastard."
"Just sit down."
Meanwhile, Axel could not get the head or tail of this situation. He was trying to survive the tide but now he was elected as a leader? What was Oak thinking or the league thinking?
"Axel, take the lead.", said Alakazam.
It took a moment for everyone including Axel to realize that all of them now had to report to a 14 yr old kid.
"Ummm.. Why don't we first introduce ourselves? My name is Axel Blaze.", said Axel.
"I am Salam."
"My name is Rocky."
"Call me Bhai."
"You can call me Yolk."
"Hi. I am Boodle."
"Mark."
"You know me. I am Derek."
"Alright, how big will the tide be?", asked Axel.
"We don't know the actual size. It is a low-level Pokemon tide. The grade of the tide has not been determined. But our information tells us that it is a B grade. So the number would be a few thousand to a hundred thousand. We have confirmed that there are 30 elemental-ranked Pokemons till now. One of them is suspected to be at the peak and is about to evolve to Pseudo-king rank. There may be other elemental-rank Pokemon. We have not finished scouting.", said Salam and gave a detailed report.
"How many elemental rank Pokemon do we have?"
"All 5 of us excluding Mark and Derek are advanced rank trainers. Each of us have 2 elemental rank Pokemon and I have 3 elemental rank Pokemons. There are 15 lieutenants under us each having 1 elemental ranked Pokemons. There are also others who have a total of 6 elemental ranked Pokemons. So, a total of 32 elemental-ranked Pokemons."
Axel felt lucky hearing the number of advanced ranked trainers and elemental rank Pokemon. For a small town like this, it was a blessing to have so many advanced-ranked trainers.
"Ok. What is our strategy on all this? You must have thought some of it.", asked Axel.
"Are we really going to let a 14 yr old kid boss around us? Don't you people have no shame?", shouted Mark again. Axel was feeling awkward to be the leader too but Mark had just doubled his doubts.
"Mark, I told you to calm down.", said Derek again.
"You may want to sit here and lic…
SLICE…..
A sound could be heard. It felt like someone had swung a sharp sword and then…
SPLURTTTT…..
Everyone could see Mark's head leaving his body and falling toward the ground.
"MARK!!", shouted Derek and ran towards him.
"I had told you to report to Axel and consider him your leader. If anyone else wants to object, raise your hand.", said Alakazam.
Nobody dared to oppose after that. They knew that Alakazam was sent here by the league and it was a strong Pokemon. They would not be able to fight against it.
Everyone started to treat Axel as their leader after this….
Axel started to ask some questions.
