Chapter 155 - Ancient Power

Training is a long process. Your Pokemon would not be a stronger version of themselves in just 1 day. You need to train them, make their schedules, motivate them, and train yourself too to be at the top. But there is a slight problem in this process. Training is boring and repetitive. However, Axel had to suck it up.

Axel had already trained his Pokemon to train themselves. He would just monitor them and interfere only when he had new plans. But Piloswine was not familiar with this culture. So, Axel had to go through that all again. He looked into Piloswine's stats and sighed.

—————

Except for 'Takedown' all of Piloswine's moves were ice-type in nature. This was not a good situation. Piloswine was ice/ground type Pokemon. It may be efficient in ice type but having the moves of the same type would put it in a bad situation in the future. It seemed to have just reached rare rank and its stats were dangerously low.

Axel didn't know how much he could improve Piloswine in these 2 months. There were many ways to upgrade Piloswine's power.

1. He could increase the core mastery of Piloswine and improve his strength but they could not see any ice-type Pokemons around here and he didn't have any resources to do so.

2. He could improve the levels and grades of Piloswine moves by adding one ground-type move. This would be most practical right now as a ground-type move could increase its battle powers.

3. He could simply evolve Piloswine to Mamoswine. But he had never heard of Piloswine being evolved to Mamoswine except in the games. It may not have been discovered yet but his puzzled him. Normally, as per his knowledge, a Piloswine would evolve into Mamoswine after it learns 'Ancient power'. There may be 1000s of Piloswine who had learned that move. So, why didn't they evolve into Mamoswine? There must be some difference between the anime/ games and reality.

After thinking about it he realized how dumb he was. Why doesn't he try all 3 of them? The second way the most realistic and easiest to achieve Axel decided to go through with it.

Axel wanted Piloswine to learn 'Earthquake' from Nidorino. 'Earthquake' was a powerful ground-type move. This would help Piloswine a lot. So, Piloswine would learn 'Earthquake' in the morning, practice his ice moves in the afternoon, and battle Nidorino/Shedinja/Beedrill in the evening.

Piloswine never complained about the hard work. It wanted to be strong enough to challenge Tyranitar someday. Axel felt that Piloswine could be one of the strongest Pokemon in his team in the future if it work hard like this. It worked as hard as Shedinja.

At night, the five of them would eat together and share their experience. Everyone was happy with the Pokemons that they had caught. As they were talking, Axel posed a question. "What do you think about the move 'Ancient power'?"

Lance was the first to reply with another question, "What do you mean? It is just like any other move. The Pokemon attacks with a jet stream of ancient power and it may raise all of their stats. Isn't this what it does?"

"Yes, I know about it. But some Pokemon moves confuse me. Like this move, 'Ancient power', We know that the Pokemon attacks with a beam of power. Experts say that it is an ancient power that has been released. But what exactly is 'Ancient power'? And why does it raises all the stats of Pokemon? It just doesn't make sense to me. Do any of your Pokemon have learned this move?"

All of them shook their heads but Ryker had something to add. "Well, if you are so interested in 'Ancient power' I know a guy who had done a lot of research in it. I don't know all the details but as per him, it may be something related to the prehistoric Pokemons."

"What do you mean?" asked Lyra. Now all of them were interested in this topic as they started to look towards Ryker for more explanation.

"We all know that prehistoric Pokemons were a lot different than today's modern Pokemon, right?"

"Yes, it is said that those prehistoric Pokemons were much larger than their modern counterparts." said Lorelai as she also chipped in.

"That man, whose name is Reman, thinks that the move somehow taps those hidden powers of those prehistoric Pokemons." said Ryker.

"Really, but that is absurd. I mean a Pokemon doesn't grow in size when they use 'Ancient power'?" asked Lance.

"That is why it is just a theory. Much has not been proved about it. But it is said that the prehistoric Pokemons were not just bigger than modern Pokemons. They were entirely different in most of the cases. Anyway, if you want to talk to that guy then I would give you the details. He moves around but he is in the Kanto region"

The group started to talk about other things and conspiracy theories. Like how Oak is a Pokemon in a human form or How Unknown created the illusion of Arceus and we are all parts of that illusion. It was interesting to talk about such stuff but Axel didn't pay much mind to it.

Axel asked if anyone had 'Never-melt-ice' with them. He wanted to increase Piloswine's mastery of ice core and 'Never-melt-ice' was the fastest method to do so.

Lorelai jumped and said that she had it. She said she had a 100yr old 'Never-melt-ice' and a 1000 yr old 'Never-melt-ice'. Axel asked to take both and asked what he had to pay for them.

"First of all I want your Piloswine to teach 'Ice shard', 'Icy wind', and 'Icicle crash' to my Jynx and next I want you to give me 2 billion Pokedollars"

"What!!! That is crazy. I mean I accept that I would teach your Pokemon those moves but 2 billion Pokedollars!!! Isn't that over the top?" shouted Axel. He was shocked about the price of it.

"First of all, it is a naturally formed 'Never-melt-ice' not an artificially created one. So, it would have the most effect. And second, the price is actually low. If I was not in a pinch to learn those moves I would have never sold you at such a cheap price" said Lorelai.

"She is right, you know. Naturally formed 'Never-melt-ice' are extremely pricey. I would have taken that deal if I had an ice type Pokemon.", said Ryker.

Axel was now in a big thought.
