It was a bright sunny morning. Axel had done his morning chores and now was in the training field. Oak's castle also had a training field. Oak had decided to reveal his new successor after 2 months when Axel would leave this place.
Oak just wanted Axel to give a little more time to grow stronger. Being Oak's successor had many benefits but Axel would also garner negative attention. Axel was now looking at Charmeleon's stats
Pokemon's name: Charmeleon (Age- 5 months)

Hidden power: Dragon (0%)
It was too soon to think about any new creative moves for Charmeleon as it was not fully evolved. But having the system, bypassed this requirement for Axel.
So, what is a dragon in its true sense? Axel had heard a lot of stories and seen a lot of anime about dragons. Dragons are mystical creatures who possess a great amount of power. They are called the incarnation of magic itself.
As per Axel, a dragon should have the following capabilities:
1. Prideful- Check
2. Intelligent- Uncheck
3. Great amount of magic power- Uncheck
4. Dragon roar- Uncheck
5. Dragon scales- Uncheck
6. High defense and very powerful- Uncheck
Charmeleon only had one quality and that was being prideful. It didn't have any other qualities. Axel felt that if he wanted Charmeleon to actually be a dragon in its true meaning it should at least have these 6 basic qualities. But this was just his fantasy.
As of right now, Axel wanted Charmeleon to focus on some new moves.
They were 'Flame Charge', 'Rest', and 'Iron tail'
These moves were carefully chosen by Axel for Charmeleon's future.
'Flame Charge' would coat the user's whole body with fire and increases the user's speed. Axel wanted to evolve this move to flame armor where Charmeleon would have a good defense and higher attack power with good speed too. This was 3 in 1 combo.
'Rest' was for a strategic purpose. Axel didn't have immediate plans for it but he felt that it would be a valuable move in the future.
And 'Iron tail' was to make its tail durable and powerful. Charizard species had some connection with its tail and the flame in it. It was one of its weaknesses. So, he wanted to remove this weakness.
Axel also wanted Charmeleon to practice all the existing moves except for 'Ember' and 'Dragon Energy'. 'Ember' cause it already knew 'Flamethrower' and 'Dragon energy' as Axel was not confident that Charmeleon could survive using this move.
'Dragon energy' is the signature move of Regidrago. Axel didn't know why Charmeleon knew this move but since it was a signature move of a legendary Pokemon, Axel felt that Charmeleon would be badly damaged if the move is used.
All the new moves were learned in 1 day by Charmeleon due to the help of TM. Charmeleon looked eager to train and become powerful. This change in its nature had impressed Axel. Charmeleon and Absol had the highest potential among others in their team. So, he was confident that Charmeleon would reach the same level as his other team members very soon.

Nidorino was now hell-bent on creating his new move 'poison ball'. It was learning from Shedinja and also using its own imagination.
Time Skip, 1 month
All of Axel's Pokemon have improved as per his expectation. Nidorino had finally learned Poison ball as its new attack. It took almost a month for it to learn it. Axel wanted Nidorino to level the move up to at least 10 before he could instruct it to spin it like a Rasengan. Charmeleon was exceptional in its training. It had improved by leaps and bounds.
However, the progress of hidden power was very slow. The highest improvement was from Shedinja which was 6%. Bulbasaur and Charmeleon didn't even have a percent of increment. Axel felt that unless a Pokemon reach uncommon or rare rank, they could not advance in this.
Axel now realized why all of the previous trainers gave up on 'Hidden power'. Cause it was extremely hard to develop. If Axel didn't have the progress bar from the system, then he would also have given up on it.
But Axel was happy that there was at least an improvement. He told his findings to Mark censoring the system part. Mark to excited to know the results.
"So, you feel that your Pokemons had some improvements in hidden power?", asked Oak.
"Yes, cause I feel that Shedinja's use of 'agility' and 'gravity' is smother than before. Beedrill also seemed to have some improvement but I can't say for others.", said Axel.
Cause Nidorino also didn't have any improvement in hidden power. This was cause it just learned 'Thundershock' while Shedinja and Beedrill had learned Physic moves way before.
"Then I am happy for you.", said Oak with a smile.
"Thanks. I feel that 'Hidden power' is not a move but a typing. The reason for its unpopularity may be due to this cause we think that it is a type of a move."
"Maybe. If you are confident in it, then go for it. I had a talk with Prof. Bourne and he was jealous cause he gave up on you" said Oak with a laughing attitude.
"Well, he must be.", said Axel with a smile.
Prof. Bourne was the first person that Axel went to for his theory in Eeveelutions (Said in chapter 2). But Bourne gave up on Axel thinking that Axel was just a kid with high imagination. But the theory of Eeveelutions was proven by Axel a few months back. So, it was natural that Bourne would be in regret and jealous.
