"This might take some time to explain. Ummm… let's take an example. Suppose you were taught that you could only look in the left and right direction. Just when you got used to it, you are now told that not only could you look in the left and right direction but you could also look up and down.
Now let's suppose that it took you 2 days to get used to looking left and right direction. Now would it only take you another 2 days to get used to looking up and down?", asked Axel.
"No, it would take more than that.", said Frank.
"So, you get my point. When you first master in getting used to looking left and right direction, you are suddenly told that you can also look and should look in up and down direction. First, you would have to accept the fact that you can also look up and down now. That would take some time.
Next, the moment how you look left and right direction is completely different than looking up and down. You are already used to looking left and right, so it would take you more time to get used to looking up and down.
The same is true with the directions. The Pokemon get so used to one direction that it would take a lot of time for them to master the other one and then another and then another.
So, normally, a Pokemon never master more than one direction but that doesn't mean that they could not do it. If somehow, a Pokemon is able to master more than one direction, let's say 2 directions, their power would more than double as they could use both the concepts and even combine them to make them even more deadly."
Frank asked the next question instantly, "Has there been a case where a Pokemon has mastered all the directions of any type?"
"I don't think that there has been any Pokemon that could do it. I just imagine how powerful and majestic a Pokemon would be if they were able to master all the directions of a type.
Wouldn't they be the ultimate Pokemon? A Pokemon that has full control over its type and how to manipulate it to the most extreme level. I feel that the Pokemon would be more powerful than Arceus.", wondered Axel.
"Can a Pokemon really be more powerful than Arceus?"
"I don't know but I believe that if a Pokemon could truly master their type, they could be.", replied Axel.
As they were imagining hypothetical scenarios, it was already night and it was now time to get dinner. However, due to the interference of Frank, Axel had not been able to look into the direction of ice and psychic typing and he needed to complete it now as Slowemperor needed it.
The only problem with Slowemperor was its lack of experience and the rapid growth of its rank. Now, its experience was rising at a very fast pace and it was starting to look like a genuine tier 3 Pokemon. Axel believed that it would still take some time but now it needed to focus on one direction.
The book not only gave a short description of each of the directions but also the history of how it came to be invented and how could this direction be used in a number of ways.
The book was not thick and long for nothing. Axel made a promise to himself to finish the reading of psychic and ice types by the end of the night.
Thus the grueling session of reading, copying, underlining, and pointing out the points went on. Axel wanted to speed read it but he also didn't want to miss essential details. He was not going to read this section again, so he took his sweet time.
The reading took all night and he finally completed all of it at 5 a.m. Axel was so tired that he went to bed immediately. He was not physically tired. After training on aura techniques from the golden stone tablet, his stamina had increased a lot but he was mentally tired after reading continuously for hours.
###
After reading for the whole night, Axel came to know about the directions of ice and psychic type and its details. The first thing that Axel was confused about was related to its typing.
Since it had 2 cores, ice, and psychic type, should it be mastering one direction of both the types or would it be enough to only master one direction of one type?
He talked with Mark and Red but they also had no idea about it. So, Axel decided that Slowemperor would learn at least one direction of each type. It was just to be safe.
Axel first looked at the directions of ice type:
Ice Make:The user could create things made of ice. From swords, shields, walls, and houses to a freaking city. After having sufficient mastery, it would be executed fast, and the quantity and the quality of the things would increase. Mastering it fully might also let the user create beings made of ice that have their own consciousness. Ice Reflection:Ice is a very good reflector. It could be used to reflect attacks from the outside and could also trap something inside the ice cone as the attacks on the inside would be reflected back inside. This could both be used in offense and defense. Mastering it, the user can use an attack and reflect it on the body of ice to increase the power of the ice to a very high degree. It could also defend and reflect the attacks. Snow:Snow consists of ice and air. The user can use it to increase its speed. The user could also trap the opponent in snow which make them very difficult to get out. The user can also use snowflakes to attack the opponents. The power of the moves like Blizzard would increase to a new level when going in this direction.
These were the 3 directions of ice but after reading it for some time, Axel came up with his hypothetical direction which he named 'Absolute zero'. So, what was 'Absolute zero'?
Heat is produced from vibrations and moments. Even inside the body of a human, the atoms and cells are vibrating at a very fast speed. Due to this, we have heat inside our bodies. When a fire is lit, those vibrations increase which would increase the heat. 'Absolute zero' is the complete opposite of that vibration which means that when there is 'Absolute zero', there would be no vibration.
Axel knew that practically it might not be possible and it was not possible in his previous world. However, it might be possible in this fantasy world. If any of his Pokemons could do it then they would be very powerful.
Axel knew that Slowemperor would not be taking the self-made direction of Axel. This was just not suited for it. He believed that 'Ice make' would be ideal for Slowemperor as it was already using moves like 'Hadauken' which was the lesser version of it.
He would ask Slowemperor about its choices but he was hopeful that it would choose 'Ice make.'
###
The next was for the psychic type. There were 4 directions of Psychic types and they were:
Telekinesis:Nothing needed to be said about this direction. Alakazam was using it and Axel felt that this would be ideal for it as it knew moves like 'Greater Telekinesis'. Mastering it would let the user do a lot of impossible things like like bringing down the meteor to strike its opponents. Empowerment:Psychic energy was a mysterious energy and it could do a lot of things. One of those things was empowering itself to a very high level. Axel had seen many animes in his time on Earth where the main character would suddenly get an extra boost in their powers through this.
The user could also decrease the power of the enemy with enough mastery.
Illusion: The user could do a lot of things with this. They could use illusion to mask the five senses, the sense of pain, the sense of reality, and time itself. There were a lot of things that a user could do in this direction and with very good mastery, they might also be able to create a separate illusion world for themselves. Creation: Psychic energy was really mysterious and this direction got him really excited. However, neither Alakazam nor Slowemperor was ideal for this direction. The name was enough for this direction as they could create anything with enough mastery in this direction. This was one of the most overpowered direction that he had seen till now.
It was said that very few Pokemons had taken this direction and none of them were able to reach master rank. They were stuck in champion rank. But those Pokemons were said to be very powerful.
Illusion would be the ideal direction for Slowemperor. It already knew a couple of moves relating to it and it would not be hard to go in this direction.
Now, Axel had chosen the direction for Slowemperor and it was now time for Slowemperor to confirm it. If the Pokemon was not ready for this, then it would not make sense to go in those directions.
Fortunately, Slowemperor agreed with the idea of Axel. Unlike Shedinja and Charizard, it didn't want to master all the directions. Its exact words were, "I am too old for this shit."
It was really older than Shedinja and Charizard. It was one of the oldest Pokemon in Axel's team. After confirming with Slowemperor, Axel and his other Pokemons went to Shedinja for more advice.
When Shedinja was training with Gengar, it had trained on directions. So, it knew a lot about it. Axel had no idea how to do it. Red was not here and such training was not even published publicly.
"So, we have to find a place to get one of these directions?", asked Axel.
"Yes, when I was training on darkness direction, I was placed in a dark place. The place was not normal. It gave me multiple illusions and I had to get out of it. I could not get out of it so the elders helped me a lot in this.
I think if Magnus wants to get a hold of any of the directions, a special place is needed and proper monitoring should be done to it.", replied Shedinja.
"So, where would I find such a place now?", asked Axel to himself. Places like these were not everywhere. It would be very hard to find and he needed to have many connections to get to such a place.
Axel thought that it was time he talked to Angela and Red.
