Chapter 639 - Tier 2 king rank Pokemon

"You took advantage of my memories and manipulated something pure. I will make you suffer from it.", said Gogoat as it activated its 'Grass domain' and started to use 'Razor leaf' to destroy this place.

Freta and the Pokemons vanished after Gogoat started to attack. The crack got bigger and bigger and suddenly everything collapsed.

Gogoat's POV ends.

###

Gogoat had been hit by a lot of attacks. 2 'Focus blast' and 3 'Psycho cut'. Even though it had not woken up, seeing that its injuries were not so serious and its eyes were also open, the referee didn't conclude the battle.

"As you can see, Gogoat seems to be in a different place. This must be the 'Illusion' move that Alakazam had used. It is a very interesting move and this shows how talented Alakazam and Noir are.

It looks like the battle would end anytime right now. Oh, what is happening? Gogoat is shining in green light. Has it come out of the illusion? No, that is not it. It is ranking up.", shouted the announcer.

It had already been more than 3 minutes and Gogoat was hit by a lot of attacks. Since it had 'Wooden armor' and 'Growth', it was able to tank a lot of hits but now, the armor was also falling down and it had suffered a lot of injuries.

However, suddenly, it started to glow in green light. Shocked by what was happening, Alakazam backed off because..

Gogoat is ranking up to tier 2 king rank

 ---

"What the hell is happening", shouted Noir but Alakazam told her that it was ranking up and they had to wait.

Axel also didn't know what was happening. It was not surprising that it was ranking up as it was very close to reaching tier 2 but that should have taken at least a couple of weeks and how were all of its stats increasing at a rapid pace? Something didn't make sense to him.

Since it was ranking up, Alakazam didn't interfere and just waited. It used 'Light screen', 'Reflect', 'Calm mind', and 'Recover' to be ready for round 2. It knew that the fight would be even harder now.

It also used 'Psychic terrain' as the effect was already decreasing.

The rank-up process took around 3 minutes and suddenly the green glow disappeared.

"ROOOARRR"

Everyone could hear the angry and energetic roar of Gogoat. The 'Grassy terrain' that was starting to lose its effect was reignited again. Gogoat also used 'Grass domain', 'Sunny day', 'Growth', and 'Wooden armor'.

It used all those moves so fast that even Axel was surprised by its speed.

---

Ding!

Gogoat has learned a new passive move. Please name the passive move.

 ----

Axel was surprised by this. How did it come to learn this move, Axel didn't know but after seeing the effects of this move, Axel was happy and named the move 'Reload.'

Before Alakazam could even 'Teleport', Gogoat used the move 'Frenzy plant'. 4 massive tree trunks surrounded Alakazam from the ground and they bound Alakazam tightly. These branches had thorns on them so it hurt a lot.

 ---

Frenzy Plant (Gogoat) (Level 40): A huge tree branch would be summoned that could pierce or bind the target.

(Level 45): 4 huge branches of trees is summoned from the ground that would bind the target. Consumes a lot of stamina.

(Level 50): The power of the move would increase during 'Grass domain' and 'Grassy Terrain'.

 ---

'Frenzy Plant' had also become a powerful move after a lot of training. Gogoat then gave a huge roar and then used 'Razor leaf'. Almost all the grass started to move. All of them were razor sharp and all of them hit Alakazam giving it multiple injuries. Due to 'Grass domain' and 'Grassy terrain', the power of this move was very high. It had also leveled a bit.

 ---

Razor Leaf (Gogoat): (Level 40): The area coverage of the attack has increased massively

(Level 45): The leaves are more sharper than before.

(Level 50): Can create a storm of extremely sharp leaves.

 ---

Gogoat then used 'Bullet seed' and multiple seeds came out of its mouth as it stuck on Alakazam's body. Gogoat activated those bombs.

BOOOM

BOOOM

BOOOM

BOOOM

Multiple explosions happened. One of the tree branches took hold of Alakazam's feet and slammed in on the ground while Gogoat used a powerful 'Solar beam' and hit Alakazam with it.

It didn't even give Alakazam to catch their breath and started to run. The yellow electric current started to surround its whole body as its whole body now glowed with that current. Its speed also increased to a very high degree as it slammed its head on Alakazam's chest. Alakazam was thrown off to the other end of the stadium and it crashed. It didn't stand up.

"Alakazam is unable to battle. Gogoat and Axel win!!!"

Honestly, there were too many surprises in this battle. Gogoat ranking up to tier 2, Alakazam and Noir being surprisingly strong, and that move. Axel wanted to get hints on how to learn that move but he knew for certainty that Noir was not going to teach it to his Gogoat.

Axel didn't have it in him to watch all the battles. Axel was now selected for the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals would not start tomorrow but a day after tomorrow. So, Axel had some time to take a rest. He went to the hotel and thought to get some food.

###

Axel first went to the Pokemon Center to look at Lucario. It was injured from a powerful attack by Machamp.

"Don't worry. It is okay but it needs a week of recovery. Don't let it train during that time.", said the doctor.

"Yes, I will take care of it.", said Axel. He was really scared when Machamp hit Lucario with 'Darkest Lariat'.

Lucario was released after an hour and was given some mild medicine and told to rest. Axel could use 'Hyper potion' or 'Full restore' to get its health to a good level but the nurse didn't suggest it and Axel also didn't want to do it.

First of all 'Full restore' didn't mean that it would fully heal the HP of the Pokemon including the status conditions. It would heal more than 'Hyper potion' but when a Pokemon suffered a serious injury or they were in their death bed, proper treatments from doctors were required.

Using these potions more than required would also lead the Pokemon to be immune to it which would be very deadly in the future.

So, Axel was letting Lucario rest for some time. However, Lucario didn't want to rest for a week.

"Lucario, listen to me. First of all, this fight has been a good learning lesson for you. You understood that there are more powerful Pokemons than you, life is not fair and everything has consequences.

If you start to train right now, despite your injury, you will injure yourself even more. So take a rest but that doesn't mean that you will be sitting idle.", said Axel.

"Lucar?"

"Yes, you will be meditating and focusing on your aura a lot. Just no physical exercise."

Lucario could also train on 'Mind reader' and 'Detect'. If it could level it up to level 40, then Axel expected that it would do some miracles.

Axel had thought to use Feraligatr in the next battle but after seeing the state of Lucario, he changed his mind. Axel never expected that these trainers would be so powerful and talented.

After the preliminaries, the battle would start to be extra hard and he had a perfect Pokemon to start the battle for the quarter-finals.

###

"Axel can you help in thinking of training plans for my Pokemons?", asked Frank.

"Yes, of course. You helped me so it is logical that I help you too. I am also your teacher, so fire up. Which Pokemon do you want to make the training plans of?"

"I want to start with the young ones. I realized that I should up my training and I am now serious about it."

"That is good to hear."

Frank and Axel went to the training ground and Frank called out 3 of his Pokemons. Riolu, Gible, and Toxicroak.

Toxicroak had recently evolved and it was in need of new training plans.

"Now, let's first start with Riolu. You have seen how I have trained my Riolu and what kind of moves it knows. But let me tell you the proper plan for it…."

Axel didn't hide anything and told him everything that he had thought of his Lucario so far. He also went on to say the importance of training on aura for Lucario. Once he completed all of it, Frank had a new understanding of what he wanted in his Riolu.

"Frank, every trainer is different and every Pokemons is different. I am not telling you to copy all of my plans because it may not suit your Riolu. But you must have a future plan on how you would want it to develop when it reaches higher ranks like King rank and above."

Moving on to Gible, Axel told his experience on how to train a dragon-type Pokemon.

"You also know that dragon-type Pokemon take a longer time to evolve and rank up. But they were more powerful than a normal Pokemon when they did evolve. Most of the trainers do everything to evolve their dragon-type Pokemon as fast as they can. But that is the wrong way to do it."

"What do you mean?"

"Frank, you must have a solid foundation if you want your Pokemon to rank up to a higher rank. This is one of the major reasons why most of the Pokemons don't reach king rank in this lifetime.

Before anything, I want to concentrate on this solid foundation. That means, proper vitamins and food, a proper training plan for them and also you should select some moves that are basic to everything that you have planned in the future.

For example, your Gible is a dragon/rock type Pokemon. You must plan what core you want for it. If it is a dragon core, make it learn a couple of moves that are of dragon type but also some moves that are of ground type. This would help in mastering and manipulating the core easily in the future.

Gilbe has an ability called 'Sand Veil', so you must let it learn 'Sand storm'. It also has 'Rough skin', so you should plan accordingly."

"What do you mean by that?", asked Frank in a confused voice.

"Due to its hidden ability 'Rough skin', the enemy's health would get lowered when it makes contact with Gible. Now, as per me, you have 2 ways to go through with it.

The first way is the offensive one. That means, let it learn some defensive moves but mainly focus on physical attacks that would lead it to deliver higher damage. This would make it a berserker.

The second way is to focus mostly on special defense and only a little on physical defense. Since you already have 'Rough skin', you don't need to worry about the physical attack for the most part.

However, there is also another way to go through with it, and that is to do both of the ways together."

"But that would take a lot of time.", said Frank.

"I know and you and Gible have to choose what to do. Life is about choices. But before you do anything, I would first focus on its ability and hidden ability and it mastered before it reaches its final evolution."

"What do you mean by mastering it?"

"Oh, you may not know as most of us don't but if you are able to master your ability and hidden ability, they would improve and some of them even might have a different function added."

"Really?"

"Yes, most of my king-rank Pokemons have their ability mastered."

Frank had a lot of things now. He had to make a perfect plan for Gible. Frank knew that Gible would be one of his most powerful Pokemon in the future. So, he had planned it perfectly.

"Between those 2 options, what would you have chosen if you were me?", asked Frank to Axel.
