"Sir, we are facing a Pokemon tide….
"Wh… what?"
"Yes sir, you heard me correctly. We are going to face a Pokemon tide."
When Axel re-confirmed what the guard said, his legs started to get loose, and he kneeled down on the ground. This day didn't start well. First, was the plane crash. He thought this was it. But now a Pokemon tide?
Pokemon tide or Pokemon war or Pokemon raid was a phenomenon where hundreds and thousands of wild Pokemons attack human settlements. The tide was so brutal that the league would always try to hide the news of Pokemon tide. They didn't want normal people to have bad feelings toward the Pokemons. Hundreds and thousands of trainers and people die in Pokemon tide.
Axel had only heard about it from Oak and Adam before. He had never personally seen a Pokemon tide. They advised him to run away if such a situation occurs.
"Is there a nearby town or a city that I can go?", asked Axel.
"I am sorry sir, but the near town is Cornor town which is 10,000 km away from here. The tide would be coming soon. I think it would be safer for you to be here than to travel in this situation", said the guard.
Sighing in frustration, Axel went towards a hotel to book a room. He called Blue and Oak but none of them picked up the phone. So, he messaged Oak that he was in Burbos town and he was going to face a Pokemon tide.
He went to his room, ordered some food, and ate it. The mood of the whole town was very gloomy. Some of the people were praying to Arceus, and some of them were eating a lot like there was no tomorrow. It felt like a prequel to an apocalypse.
It was already 9 p.m. and he didn't have anything to do. Actually, he didn't want to do anything. His heart and mind were a mess. He went to bed and fall asleep.
###
Next morning,
He woke up and saw that there was multiple notifications of missed calls from Oak and Blue. He picked up his phone and called Oak.
Tring.. Tring.. Tring.. Tring… Katchak..
"Hello my boy, top of the morning to you."
"Hey, Oak. You got my message huh."
"I most certainly did. I feel sorry that you would have to go through this but it is also an excellent learning opportunity for you."
"What learning opportunity? I am in the middle of a WAR!!!"
He was frustrated and fearful. He didn't know what to do. He had never faced such a situation and Oak was still acting happy and sarcastic.
"First of all, do you have a glass of water in your room?", asked Oak
"Why?"
"Just tell me first."
"Yes, there is one on the table."
"Ok, drink a full glass of water."
"Why?"
"Just do it, will you"
Axel didn't know what Oak was planning but he followed the instruction.
"Now, take a deep breath and try to calm yourself."
Axel did that too. It sounded childish but it really helped him to calm down.
"I have talked to the league and got the information. It is a low level Pokemon tide with few elemental rank Pokemons. First of all let me tell you, your life is not in danger and it would never be in danger.
Now, I want you to participate in this Pokemon tide cause I want you to hone your skills. If you want to be a Pokemon Champion, you would have to spend a month in Badlands, and trust me, Pokemon tide would look like a puppy compared to Badlands.
You head on to the Mayor's office and tell him that Prof. Oak has sent you. You will know more about it in the office. Now, chop.. Chopp…."
Oak then hung up the phone.
Talking with Oak calmed him down. He didn't know what Oak meant by when he said that his life was not in danger. But he chose to believe Oak. Since Oak had guaranteed his safety, participating in the tide would not be a problem. He would have to participate in it since he was an advanced-ranked trainer.
He took his breakfast and then went to the Mayor's office. The Mayor's office was easily recognizable since it was the tallest building in the town. There were guards stationed near the gate. Axel showed his advanced rank trainer badge and the guard let him in.
Having the badge was opening a lot of doors for Axel. He went to the reception area and asked, "Excuse me, I am here to meet the mayor."
The situation was dire here but the receptionist was sweet and had a smile on her face. "I am sorry, the mayor is busy in a meeting right now. Can you tell me your name so that I can get you an appointment?"
"I am actually here for the same meeting. My name is Axel Blaze and I was sent here by Prof. Oak."
Hearing Oak's name straightened her back. She took a Pokecard of Axel and started to match the data.
"Mr. Axel, the meeting hall is on the second floor. Please follow me.", said the receptionist and started to walk up the stairs. Axel followed her and soon they reached the door of the meeting hall.
"The meeting is happening inside. I am not allowed to go in."
Axel thanked her and then knocked on the door. No one answered so he just let himself in.

"Derek, how bad is the situation? How many elemental rank Pokemons would we be facing?"
"I don't know the exact number but at least half a dozen or up to a dozen."
KYUEEE….
"Hey kid, this is not the place to roam around. Get out of there.", shouted a middle-aged man.
"Sorry for the interuption, but I have been told to attend this meeting."
"By whose authority?"
"Prof. Samuel Oak."
