"You must sign the papers before you go on that trip,"
A message I've received from my so-called husband. It was only 3 days until the cruise ship vacation. I guess word already got out. My mom probably boasted about me having a 7-day trip on the most expensive cruise in the country. And that word reached Erron. He's probably thinking that I was still in love with him doing this kind of stuff. Well, just so you know, that trip was an event for all business partners of C&L Incorporation. It was like an anniversary thingy or like, a yearly event to celebrate their partnership, old or new. Rumors said that they have like a part where they play a romantic music and everyone should dance, and rumors also said that after that event, they get married.
I replied and said, "Can't we just talk before everything else? I miss you."
You must think that it was stupid of me to say 'I miss you' knowing the fact that it won't matter to him anymore. But why not? It's the only thing I can do at the moment. Like a person dying, you must tell that person what you feel before it's too late.
"Stop it, Lucy. We are done." He texted back. I feel like my heart was torn apart even though I knew it already. We are done.
"Oh God, not again," I said to myself, looked up, and start to fan my eyes using my hands. Please. Not again. I'm tired of it. I'm tired of being the only one who can't move on.
But it was too late.
I was already sobbing. And I can't stop it.
Later that night, I went out again. Texted all my girlfriends and told them to meet me at the C&L Bar. Thank goodness that they all said yes despite having a busy schedules. You might wonder why I stay at home every day and still get to wander everywhere without thinking of how much I spend. It is because Erron's father gave me a building as a wedding gift. In that building, I earn enough to make myself worry about nothing. There are 12 tenants in that building. One of them was the C&L Bar which we come to almost every night. As the landlord, I get a super VIP pass at this bar. I never met the owner but some of the employees told me that he was just around my age with so many businesses within and outside the country.
"You know what Lucy, just sign the papers and let go." It was Feya while looking at the group of guys dancing and flirting on the dance floor. It was loud but I can still hear it.
"It was easy to say than done," I answered, smiled bitterly, and looked at Kylie and Harold making out in the corner. "I wish I was that strong like that flirt," I said laughing while pointing at Kylie.
"I wish, too," Meiah answered bitterly and drank the tequila in her hand.
Out of us four, it was me who has been the most dramatic. Meiah is a popular girl with an hourglass body which makes her become the highest-paid model in the country. Kylie is the most badass person I've known. She flirts like it was her last day in the evening and a successful lawyer in the daylight. And, Feya. She is a pediatrician. And a happily married person with a very loving and faithful husband who owns a wine bar (which we hate to go to).
We dance gracefully. Swinging our butts, moving to the beat of the flirty song the DJ is playing. I am holding a glass of tequila while dancing when a group of guys started to amok in the middle of the dancefloor. We went out and looked at those guys fighting and punching each other's faces when I saw Meiah trying to stop them.
Even though I am kind of drunk, I immediately went to Meiah and hold the other guy. "Stop it," I whispered to the guy which immediately stopped him. He looked at me with no emotion and wiped his bleeding lips. That hazel brown eyes. That pretty nose and that rosy lips. I know I saw him before but I can't figure when and where.
He then looked at the other guy whom Meiah is holding, "You are lucky she stopped me." He said.
"Why? Are you gonna kill me?" The other guy said, leaning on the floor, shoulders being held by Meiah.
The guy beside me grinned. I look at his face, trying to remember where and when did I see him. He looks very familiar. He took away my hand's grip, then turned back and walked away. But he stopped and said, "Look at his pocket," he said.
Meiah quickly grabbed the other guy's pocket, only to see her purse in his. She glared at him and slapped him hard on his face. A few minutes after, the police came and brought that guy to the station alongside me, Meiah, and the other girls.
"I mean, that guy is super cool!" Kylie exclaimed in excitement.
"Kind of," I answered, smiling while watching Meiah on the police officer's desk.
"It's gonna blow up tomorrow for sure," Feya whispered while her eyes is closed.
I shrugged off my shoulder, "I think I've seen him somewhere," I said.
They both looked at me. "You don't know him?" Feya asked, looking at me like it was something that I should know.
Kylie caressed my shoulder, "You divorcee need to go out sometimes. Hmmm,"
"Who is he?" I asked.
"He is Calvin Lee. The owner of that bar." Kylie answered cheerfully.
My eyes widened in shock. "Really?"
"Stop thinking about Erron so much so you can know a lot of guys," Feya chuckled.
I came home early the next morning. I lay down on the couch and closed my eyes. That hazel brown eyes. I still can't remember where I saw him. So strange.
