Hoa Khuong is the God of Thunder, chosen to be part of the Faction of Justice. He would call the Faction of Justice, Justice Gang. Weirdo. Let's be professional. Anyway, his job is to investigate demons or gods handed by the jade emperor. He sometimes uses lightning to strike those who had violated heaven's law. After years of doing that, he decided to just go head-on and capture them himself.
Outside of the court building, the streets have become empty and quiet. During the day, deities would rustle around, trying to get to work and all. In the evening, heaven became peaceful and silent. This time is his most favourite time of the day. Every day he would wait outside for his brother to walk home together. Hoa Khuong would distract himself with the stars and listen to the sounds of distant music, played by musical deities.
"You're still here?"
Hoa Khuong turned to meet wolf-like eyes. Vinh Tai, his old teacher and best friend, the God of War.
Vinh Tai is striking with sharp facial features and beautiful tan skin. His eyes looked intimidating and cold, his tall figure muscular, and his golden armour beautifully shined under the moonlight. Whenever Vinh Tai travels to the mortal realm, he would get stares and drools. When Vinh Tai returns to heaven, he would complain about it to Hoa Khuong. But this time, it seems like he had something else to say.
"I hear there's been a wild cat demon running around. Those incompetent guards who can't even keep a demon in their cages." Vinh Tai crossed his arms and warned, "Do be careful tonight."
"Thanks. Don't worry, bro. I can fight off anything!"
Vinh Tai snickered, "Remember that spider?"
Hoa Khuong retorted, "It's because it was on brother Xuan's head! I can't smack him."
"You wuss."
Hoa Khuong stuck his tongue out at him. The two stood together boasting about their accomplishments, while also talking smack about each other as competition. Oblivious to two people watching them, they shamelessly verbally fought.
Judge Hoa smiled, adoring them. "They look cute together."
A man with great posture stood next to him. His long hair white and silky, resting against his back. He looked incredibly handsome with soft and elegant features. His eyes calm like the sea when there's no wind and his smile seems gentle.
He agreed, "They are well suited for each other."
"But every time little Khuong talks about brother Tai, he looks super angry."
The man chuckled. "There's always a start for everything."
Hoa Xuan agreed with the man. His friend with a higher standing in power and stronger than him, his name is Long Vuong, the King of the Sea. Long Vuong is well famous for his elegance and power, yet not many deities and demons know anything about him. All they know is that he's a king with a complicated background. People think of him as a very mysterious figure.
Long Vuong patted the judge's shoulder, his thumb slightly rubbing the judge's clavicle underneath the many layers of clothes. His eyes resting on the pure innocent expression Judge Hoa showed. He said, "There's a meeting I must go to. Goodnight."
He nodded. "Goodnight."
Judge Hoa smiled and waved at Long Vuong, who's disappearing and also briefly waved back. Once Long Vuong had turned a corner, Judge Hoa made his way towards the steaming duo.
"I'm going to leave now. You're tiring me out."
Hoa Khuong sneered, "You tire me out even more."
Vinh Tai clicked his tongue against his teeth. "Whatever."
Vinh Tai turned around, not without leaving one last glare towards Hoa Khuong and left before Judge Hoa could greet him. Judge Hoa didn't mind, he was used to the god of war's character.
"I'm sorry if I made you wait too long. I was held back to discuss some issues with the other judges."
Hoa Khuong shook his head. "Not really. Let's quickly go home. I want to watch this one show I've been dying to see."
Judge Hoa patted his little brother's head, even though he had to tiptoe to reach, it didn't bother him much.
"Let's go."
The two began walking down the road. It was silent and empty, something the two noticed. Usually, there would be lights from the windows of deities palaces, but it seems they're not home or maybe sleeping. Judge Hoa pulled Hoa Khuong closer to him. They didn't talk nonsense, not even a little squeak.
Judge Hoa whispered, "There's an array cast in this area. We can no longer get out."
The two stopped in the middle of the street. A man stood at the end. He smiled at them with malice. The corners of his mouth stretch far to the side making it into an eerie long grin. If a little kid saw this smile they would get nightmares for days.
Hoa Khuong asked, "Linh Dau, what the fuck are you doing!?"
Linh Dau chuckled lightly then answered, "Just giving a visit. Nothing bad."
Judge Hoa, no longer smiling. His eyebrows furrowed and his expression became tensed. He warned, "You have been exiled. You are not allowed here."
Linh Dau snickered. "Heaven's security is so bad, they didn't even notice me walking through the gates. It's the twenty-first century, why is heaven weak still?"
A big cat leaped onto the roof then jumped down to its master's side. The cat is made of three different types of cats, their parts stitched together from head to torso, torso to legs. The head of a jaguar, the body of a tiger, and the legs of a cheetah. The big cat bared its teeth and hissed at the brothers.
Hoa Khuong summoned his sword. He snarled, "So that's the cat that has been running around!"
Linh Dau raised his eyebrows. "So you heard. Well, you should be prepared then."
Linh Dau gestured towards the brothers. The cat growled then dashed towards the brothers.
Hoa Khuong pushed Judge Hoa meters behind him. Judge Hoa watched his brother dodging and striking at the cat. The cat had the fastest speed and agility. It dodged and clawed at the air, towards the confident Hoa Khuong. Judge Hoa became tensed and worried. He reached into his clothes and grabbed a white flute.
"Are you prepared, Hoa Xuan?"
Hot air brushed against the back of Hoa Xuan's ear, making him shiver in fear.
