Aurora
The stony steps to the roof was sparkly cleaned, not like the steps were used often, but it was just the maids doing their job. That was what crossed Aurora's mind as she climbed up the steps, heading to the roof. Humming happily to herself,as the banquet yielded her much.
She had always loved banquets since she was a child. She would do most anything to attend one. It meant she could find nobles and wealthy merchants to steal from, surely without the trouble of burgling their houses.
The only challenge was getting past the entrance. But it was far easier to do that than break into a big house, that she believed, she knew. All she had to do is look and act like she belongs- just another merchants daughter she would say, a one the guards had never heard off and they are many of them in the world.
Some of the guards knew her of course- she frequents the castle often- they just let her passed. Dressed in an expensive red dress she took from Khaln's wardrobe- from the ones that the princess gets from gifts and doesn't size- a dress she didn't know how much it cost. And with her beauty and story, she blended in.
But all things comes to an end. She had no choice but to take her leave when Saark started watching her._ The knight knows her, he might report her to Khan if he catches her stealing.
Aurora pushed the roof door open, looked up at the night sky, placed both hands atop the roof at both sides, and sprang up flexibly. Coming out unto the golden dome roof that shown well under the moon light. She stood a little unsteady on her feet, and had to stretch her hand and grasped the spire for balance.
She knew quite well if Khaln finds out what she did tonight, she'd be angry. But she couldn't help it. She loves and respects Khaln more than she did anyone. As Khaln gave her everything, but stealing is more than an addiction to her, it was like breathing, stopping it like suicide.
When she was eight, she escaped slavers planning to cross the seas with her and sell her in Persa. She stole from a man, who wanted to cut her hand for her theft. But at the time, she was the most venerable a time she lost hope, seeing the slavers have found her and the man raising his axe. Khaln saved her,and somehow convinced her father to give her Aurora as a slave.
Aurora thought she'd suffer in the princess hands, but all Khaln asked for was her loyalty.
Because of Khaln's kindness, she forgets that she is still officially a slave, maybe that was why she breaks Khaln's orders and steal even when she is stopped, she thought.
She took off a duffel bag that was supported by the spire- she had kept it there before she attended the banquet- opened it and dropped her hand bag in. The hand bag was filled with jewelries she stole. She couldn't wait to sell the one she got from prince Michael- a jewelry from a prince most cost a fortune she believe.
She found it funny that the famous womanizing prince could not drink past three glass of drinks, and he was out. As she saw him wary and spent ,she slipped a golden ring from his thumb, so easy she thought.
With a small chuckle, she reached into the bag and took out a black leather trousers. Sat on the roof, undoing the zip of her dress at its hip, before slipping the trousers on. Then took off the dress revealing her brassiere: black with grey straps, wore a long sleeve leather shirt atop. Next was her boots, she slipped it on making sure to hide her daggers in it.
Finally she stood, slung the bag over her shoulder, looking past the sentries at the castle walls, at the city with lights riddled in it. She gave a sigh as the air wafted her hair. She loves it when she is in this cloths,it makes her feel fast and powerful.
Though she was heading to Khaln's courters, and Khaln could make anyone smaller in comparison. The least of her problems though.
She just hoped dearly Selena is not there- at Khaln's room. The witch is annoying and mean, she would always call Aurora names, try to seize things she steals, and when she tries to fight back she ends up hitting illusions. Sometimes Khaln would smile when they do that before grabbing the real Selena and pull her out of invincibility stopping it all.
Other times Aurora succeeds in spotting the real one, but before she could do anything, the witch just chants and vanish in an instant.... It's frustrating more than anything. Something she did not wish to experience tonight.
Aurora jumped from the dome roof to the bridge connecting the big doom roof to another similar but smaller dome roof. This bridge would go far before she reached the other roof, and step into Khaln's room.
As she navigated the bridge however, she heard faint sounds, making her come to a stop, with a little concentration, she could make out words.
"No,no,no" a woman cried over and over again.
Aurora was stunned. She turned and changed direction to investigate the sound. Jumping from The bridge unto a flat roof below her,and started jumping from roof to roof, to a wall.
Looking down from it,Prince Michael was pushing himself in and out of Tula, Khaln's maid. As the girl struggled weakly, crying no again and again at the assault. Aurora could only see faintly in the dark, not a thing immodest, but enough to understand the situation.
An almost overwhelming urge to flee struck her at the sight, but she pressed it down. Telling herself that Khaln is her friend and she can't abandon a girl her friend cares about. And besides she's a woman and would never like that to happen to her.
The prince didn't seem to notice her,he was like a beast in heat, ravishing the poor girl.
Down Aurora jumped, docking into the shadows of an alley just behind the Prince, and pulled out her daggers. One in each hand, taking deep slow breaths, ready to move.
The prince is said to be just a womanizing prince, but he took part in the war and at the banquet she saw veterans being cautious of him.... And the fight with three knights. She didn't plan to underestimate him even in his state. She took a step.
"Don't even think of it." A female voice called, frightening the bone out of her. She drew back lifted her head to see a woman crouched on the wall beside the crazed prince.
She felt more fear at the realization that someone had sneaked on her. No one had done that before. The woman jumped down the wall, flipped in a ball in the air, landed and pressed two fingers to the Prince neck, making him collapse flat on Tula, who just cried helplessly. The woman did the same to the maid.
"Who are you?" Aurora asked. Wide eyed, warily. Ready to bolt if need be.
The woman was fair skinned with bright blond hair. Yet all Aurora's being told her the woman was the most dangerous person she had met. "Is of no importance." The woman replied brows furrowed. Pulled the prince's trousers back up his waist, then hurled him casually over her shoulder like he weighs nothing. And turned, walking away.
Aurora used the opportunity to slip back into the alley fading from the woman's view. "Just stay out of....." She heard the woman start. Only to stop, likely when she realized Aurora was no more there.
Aurora sighed, internally. In relief as that worked. Somehow the only person she couldn't sneak on to, or escape unnoticed from is Khaln. With her sensitivity to fire it was impossible to do both, Khaln told had her.
Aurora hid in the alley and only came back out after she was sure the blond woman was gone. She draped her red dress- she attended the banquet in- on the girl. Bit her lip, before hurrying to find Khaln, as Khaln would know how to handle the situation.
