Chereads / Jack of Arts / ANOTHER HIATUS

ANOTHER HIATUS

Good day, folks. Author here.

I'm still in a rut. I've tried. Really. For half a month, (Okay. It's not really half a month straight, but still. I'm not really writing full-time.) just for this story, all I did was stare at the white blank page of Webnovel's Workspace.  I start a chapter, I outline a chapter, then I don't get far, so I erase them again, just saving on a .txt document ideas that MIGHT be useful.

While coming up with nothing, I finally realize why entertainment novels that has a similar premise to mine, end up either bad, or does not have an ending at all. I'm not going to discuss it here, though, because it's hard to describe.

This rut made a few things cross my mind on how to change how I approach the plot. One. I will have to resume on our main character's growth in the music industry, and focus just on that. Or, I will have to go back to him making movies, focus on that, so we won't have to come back to that again. I might need your thoughts on this.

To the matter I really want to talk about.

I apologize. I apologize for making you guys wait, I apologize for not fulfilling you guys' wait only to give a useless apology.

I also apologize again for the succeeding parts of this announcement.

That announcement. It seems that I have to take another break again, officially, and indefinitely. But, no way I'm abandoning this. This is my first novel after all.

While I'm gonna be on a break from this novel, that does not mean I'm not gonna do anything for Jack of Arts.

I have to research, a LOT of things.  I still have the general story in mind, but I'm stuck at how to tell them. I have ideas, but to execute those ideas, I have to study first to fill those ideas, then execute them. If I keep writing without knowing a single thing of what I'm writing about, many of you will definitely drop this novel.

I also have to study the characters. The characters I myself wrote. I have to figure out how to discard them or how to make use of them. In addition to that, I have to come up with new characters.

Another thing I would do, is to read my own novel as a reader and the comments some of you have left. I might pick up something that will help me move the story forward.

Finally, I have a confession to make.

To my earliest fans, who read the announcements I already deleted long ago, you might all remember me talking about another novel I started before Jack of Arts, a novel I never released. Well, I'm starting to play with it again.

I don't have a general idea of where that story will go, but I'll still be releasing chapters for that novel as an exercise. I'm afraid while I'm researching for Jack of Arts, it will be my English writing skills that will suffer. So I need that other novel to keep and improve on what I've learned while writing Jack of Arts.

So. I guess that's it, for Jack of Arts, for now.
