"What was the problem?" asked David, holding the edge of Arjoona's car door. Arjoona still rubbed the corners of his bleeding lips with a tissue before turning to David and answering his question.
"I also don't know what the problem he has," David frowned.
"There's no way he'll hit you if there's nothing wrong." Arjoona shrugged his shoulders. He had to avoid David's questions. Arjoona and Gerald have agreed that the marriage kept as a secret for outsiders. Not a single employee at Winthrop should know about Arjoona and Claire's wedding.
"Dave, I gotta go home now. I'll perform tonight, sorry. I'm leaving," said Arjoona, smiling thinly and rushed into the car. David is a little suspicious of Arjoona, but he doesn't want to force Joona to admit. David just nodded and closed the car door with a smile.
On the way home, Arjoona kept wondering what to do with the plan later. Was his decision right, or was he plunging himself into a new, much more dangerous problem?
Meanwhile, Claire continues to be sad and confused about what to do. When her grandfather had made up his mind without asking for her opinion, Claire knew that something had happened. She did not think that her grandfather would force her to marry a man she hated so much. Moreover, she could not fire him at all.
"Grandpa, please don't force me to marry him. He's a jerk. Why did you even ask me that?" Claire whined again to her grandfather in his office. Gerald put down his paperwork in a half toss before turning around and folding his arms across his chest.
"Arjoona is a nice and respectable man, Claire. He is even 100 times better than your boyfriend," Gerald replied irritatedly. Claire laughed sarcastically
"Why do you keep on backing him? Who is he?" Claire's voice started to rise. Gerald walked over to Claire and stroked her arms.
"Claire, I took care of Arjoona since he was a child. He's another part of my life."
" What do you mean?" asked Claire in surprise with a frown.
"He's my foster grandson." Claire shook her head in disbelief. Gerald smiles at her.
"I raised him from the orphanage when he was ten years old, and since then, I watched him grow up like now. Believe me, Claire, this man destined to be a leader. He will lead and protect you well," Claire snorted at the explanation. His grandfather.
"Ah, grandpa, I can take care of myself after all, who the hell he think he is? He's also just a poor orphan, what do people say if I marry a poor person like him," Claire replied mockingly at Arjoona. Gerald shook his head and sighed heavily.
"Oh, Claire, don't argue to me anymore. You better prepare yourself for your wedding next week and break up with your boyfriend. I don't like to see him," Claire was about to cry. She couldn't stand up to her grandfather and loved Louis very much.
"Grandpa ..." Claire called softly, trying to negotiate.
"no more negotiation, and don't insult Arjoona again. He's not like what you think." Gerald turned back and headed for his desk to take the same document. Claire didn't know what to do, finally kicked her foot, and then walked out of the room. Gerald only sighed a few times and massaged his forehead. Arjoona and Claire's marriage must not fail - Gerald thought over and over.
But before he could think calmly, the door to his office was re-opened by an uninvited guest, Keith Barnett. Gerald then turned around and instantly gave Keith an angered face.
"What are you doing here?" Keith smiled sarcastically before approaching a sofa and sitting down.
"I understand what you are doing, Mr. Winthrop. You are trying to get rid of me," said Keith with a smile. Gerald wandered over to Keith sitting and folding one leg while stretching one hand on the sofa.
"You might be able to trick my daughter Isabel, but you can't trick me." Keith then got up from his couch, laughing a little and buttoning his suit.
"I love Isabel, Mr. Winthrop, why do you keep telling me if I'm cheating." Gerald chuckled with a sort of snort.
"You think I believe you? You can fool everyone but me, and I know who you are, Barnett, you are just an asshole!" Keith chuckled and put his hands in his pants pockets.
"You won't be able to get rid of me, Mr. Winthrop, especially with a boy-like ... hmm Arjoona Harristian," replied Keith with mockery. Gerald smiled sarcastically.
"Don't underestimate a boy. He can kill you, remember my words Barnett, Arjoona Harristian will get rid of you, and it's better if he will also end your life." Keith snorted at Gerald's words, which he thought made no sense.
"Ah, I'll wait for that moment, except maybe he won't marry Claire. I heard she hates him," Keith started provoking.
"You will not win, Barnett, Claire will marry Arjoona no matter what, nothing can stand in the way, particularly you." Gerald retreated his steps.
"Get out of my office and don't emerge in anymore." Keith smiled and strolled toward the outside before he finally stopped and mocked Gerald again.
Goodbye dad," Gerald clenched his jaw and growled at Keith, talking like that as he opened the door and went out. Gerald was annoyed and angry. He wanted to kill Keith now.
Meanwhile, Louis Pradipta rapidly got out and ignored Claire, who kept calling him in the car park. And all of Claire and Louis' arguments were witnessed by Kenanga. It's just that she didn't know what they were arguing.
"Lou ... please don't leave me like this," Claire said, holding Louis's arm. He looked away in annoyance.
"When can your grandfather respect me? As long as I was your boyfriend, he never thought of me at all," said Louis, half screaming. Claire still kept trying to calm him down.
"I've talked to grandpa, and I still have one week to keep persuading until he cancels the plan. Please don't go from me now." Claire kept begging Louis not to leave her.
"Come on, Claire. It is useless!" Louis stomped his arm and got into his sports car and left Claire behind.
Kenanga, who stood far away and watched the argument smiled happily. She thought that those were her chance to step into their relationship before opening her car door and entering. She plans to follow Louis.
Louis was found by Kenanga drinking at a club alone. Kenanga, who had been looking for him, then accosted the handsome man.
"Hi, Lou, you alone?" asked Kenanga, sitting next to Louis. Louis just nodded.
"Why are you? Why are you sad?" Kenanga tried to keep getting closer, and Louis could only sigh heavily.
"I'm fine, Kenanga," answered Louis briefly, then drank his beer. Kenanga smiled and started stroking Louis's arm.
"Did you fight with Claire?" Louis frowned and looked at Kenanga with a confused look.
"why Gerald Winthrop never appreciate me as Claire's boyfriend, I never granted anything by him."
"It's because Claire is not pregnant with you," asserted someone from Louis's left. Louis and Kenanga were surprised as they looked away, and Keith appeared smiling at Louis. He approached the bar and ordered the same bottle of beer as Louis.
"If you want to get in the way of that plan, you should have made Claire tied up with you," repeated Keith while drinking his beer and sitting next to Louis.
"What do you mean?"
"Ah, what century are you guys dating? Have you ever had sex with her?" Kenanga, who heard quickly frowned. What's all this?
"Claire said she only wanted to do it when she was married," Keith laughed.
"haha ah Lou, you're attentive, so you've never asked her for that all this time."
"I have been several times, but she always refused with unsure reasons, or not being ready." Keith is still laughing mockingly.
"A girl like her, if you don't tie her on the bed, she would fly away from you, she's still old-fashioned even though she's cool, " continued Keith. Louis looked at Keith and frowned. Meanwhile, Kenanga said nothing when she saw Claire's stepfather, instead of telling her daughter's boyfriend to impregnate Claire.
"So what should I do, uncle?" Louis asked seriously
"conceived her, Gerald must have no choice but to marry you two," said Keith without a filter. Louis looked back at the bar in front of him and nodded.
"It's not a bad idea," replied Louis, nodded. Keith smiled
"But what if she refuses?" asked Louis again and turned his head.
"Seduce her, can't you just do that?" Keith challenge Lou with an evil grin.
Kenanga released his grip on Louis's arm and bit her lip. If Louis married Claire, then she would never have a chance to be with Louis.
