Chapter 5 - Entrance of The Red Rose

(Hello! I hope you all enjoy my story!)

Sitting at a large wooden desk surrounded by papers, the White Rose laces her fingers as she glares at Sebastion. "Why is he here? I am sure I told you to close the Mansion to visitors and to warn me if he was coming. Was I not clear?"

"My lady, I apologize. I do not know how they were able to avoid my detection up to this point." Sebastion apologizes as he kneels on the ground in front of the woman.

"How long do we have before he arrives."

"Minutes at best."

"Have you erased any evidence of Cassian's existence?"

"Indeed. I swear it will be impossible for them to find him unless they search the entire castle."

The lady grits her teeth, "You better be right. We can't afford to allow him to learn of him. If he discovers I have taken a nobody into my family, then he might begin to suspect something. He's already untrusting of us as it is thanks to my father."

"I understand my lady."

Without waiting, the two of them stand and Sebastion leads the way to the front doors of the mansion. The lady stands staring at the doors waiting. The large foyer is filled with nearly thirty heavily armed guards and a dozen servants.

After only a moment, the large oak doors of the mansion bursts open. "Hahaha! Dear cousin. It has been too long!" A powerful voice radiates throughout the room.

Hiding her contempt, the lady smiles sweetly, "Leonidas! Truly it has been too long."

Through the front door, steps Leonidas The Red Rose. Leonidas is a massive man standing at nearly six foot seven inches. His brown skin nearly glows like the sun itself, his long black dreadlocks fall to his waist. The bright glittering of his shining gold armor reflecting the sunlight only adds to his overwhelming aura.

A bead of sweat slowly drips down Sebastions face as he stares at the young man in front of him. 'What a monster. Is he even human?'

Despite seeing the man many times before, he can't help but continuously be surprised. The boy resembled more of a hero from fairy tails than an actual human.

"I heard from my friends that you closed the mansion and city from outsiders. I don't remember approving that." Leonidas states. His face may be smiling, but Sebastion knows better. Hidden behind his cheery smile is a vicious glint.

Crossing her arms, she replies, "Hm? I thought This mansion and Galu City are under my jurisdiction, not yours. Was I perhaps wrong?"

"Of course, however.... My dear cousin. It seems the title of Sorceress Queen may have gotten your head. Morgana Dear.... You aren't perhaps in your rebellious phase are you?"

Upon asking, Leonidas raises his hand. Upon doing so, the thudding of marching echoes from the stairs. Up the stairs, slowly sending into view, is exactly fifty heavily armored soldiers.

All standing at least six foot two, covered from head to toe in golden armor with dark royal red leather armor covering the few gaps between the goal. They carry large five-foot-tall tower shields along with six to nine-foot-long pikes.

Even if you lived in the most obscure corner of the Kingdom, you would have heard of these men. The Golden Rose Legion. These men under the direct command of Leonidas the Red Rose, are giants among men.

Legends of them tearing through entire battlefields alone are known by every man, woman, and child. The most terrifying part? These stories did not require exaggeration.

Morgana can only hold back her fury at being mocked by her elder cousin.

"Of course not. I just deemed it necessary for the time being. I have heard whispers of the Blood Cult being prevalent in this region of the empire. For this reason, I decided to seal the gates of Galu for the time being. I did not think the situation was relevant enough to bother you Cousin."

Leonida skeptically looks up and down at Morgana, looking for any sign that she might be lying, but finds none. After a moment he turns to a small sniveling man who somehow managed to appear next to the giant without anyone knowing. "Laric?"

The little man hunches over as he pulls out a small but thick leather-bound notebook. His messy black hair falls over his face hiding his wrinkles. "He um. Yes yes, my lord. It seems that the Blood cult has indeed been more active in this region recently. However, I was unable to find any concrete evidence of a substantial presence." He states, his greasy voice quietly filling the room.

Leonidas looks down at the man, feelings of disgust bubbling below his calm demeanor. "Thank you Laric."

"O-of course sirrrr." Aleric replies with a sickly smile on his face. Moments after the man seems to disappear from the vision of the other.

"I apologize cousin. It seems I truly overreacted. I thought perhaps you still held a grudge about what happened with your father."

"Of course not. You only did what was in the family's best interest." Morgana replies politely.

"I will be taking my leave then. I apologize for the sudden intrusion cousin" Leonidas states calmly. His heavy aura slowly rescinded.

"If you traveled all this way would you not like to stay for a few days to rest?" Morgana asks. While she hates to invite this man into her home, not doing so would be discourteous. With their current relationship, she cannot afford any more scrutiny on the White Rose.

"As tempting as that offer may be, I will have to pass. After all, we simply made a short detour to your city to ensure everything is okay. We must hurry if we are to make it to the northern borders on schedule."

"I haven't heard anything about the northern borders. From what I heard it's been very quiet and peaceful. The Hara Kingdom has been very self-focused and non-aggressive within the past decade." She asks confused.

"Exactly. We are heading there to meet the King and establish trade deals." He declares with a victorious smirk.

Hearing this, Morgana's blood runs cold. "You mean the trade deals I have spent two years attempting to establish?"

"Hm? Do you mean the ones I asked for you to prepare for me?" He asks, unable to hide his condescending grin any longer.

Morgana, in kind, is unable to hide her fury as her lips curl up into a furious sinister smile. "You will regret this Leo."

"We shall see, Sorceress Queen" He drawls with venom before turning and storming out. His soldiers marching behind him.
