Chereads / Rise of the dark ones queen / Chapter 2 - Queen of nothing

Chapter 2 - Queen of nothing

It is the year 5241 after the great disaster that was the birth of the chaos goddess and in the dark lands stirs a woman awake. Her beauty must have been so breathtaking, that every man would have fallen for her, if it was not for all the mud and blood that covered her entire body. She had just left the haunted swamp, which had killed all her companions, as the swamp itself seemed almost alive. She had laid there for hours and was now slowly walking away, with no real spark in her eyes. She ones had been a queen, no not a queen but the Queen. But all that was over now, her people had betrayed her, her husband had tried to kill her and her son had hunted her all the way over the great sea and into the dark lands. For what one might ask? Well all that for her crown, nothing more no important position, no revenge, no fear and no meaningful reason. All just for the crown of the high elf's. They had given the item to her for save keeping and she accepted even with the rumours that the one to carry it had the ability to rule over the elf's themselves. Stupid that were the rumours nothing more and nothing less. But her husband, son and people had fallen for those lies, they destroyed their kingdom over this crown. And jet still did she know, that they would ceep hunting her until they had that crown.

She wandered for hours without pause only trying to cover as much distance as possible. But after only fourteen hours she could make out the walls of a small city. Dread filled her hearth as she remembered the tales of the dark elfs that ruled these lands. They were the evil twins of the high elfs. But the difference between these two races, was not as big as one might think, since the dark elf's held all the abilities of the high elfs except for their never ending youth. But in return the were the dark elfs able to reproduce far faster than the high elfs. But the main difference was their culture, with the high elfs having a patriarchy and the dark elfs a matriarchy. And the queen hoped that her being a beautiful woman would save her from slavery.

As she approached the walls of the settlement her fear peaked, since she was now able to see the looming shadow of the mage tower that had been hidden by magic. Her hearth was racing as if it wanted to break out of her chest.

When she got within a hundred meters of the gate a jell rang out.

"Simarka samkrel!"

Not understanding the words which were send her way she stopped too scared to provoce an attack.

"Do you speak the elfen tongue?"

A far more female voice reached out to her.

"Yes I speak the basics of the elfen tongue."

She replied in the hope that the woman could hear her from this distance and would ask her to come closer.

"Then I welcome you to the city of Moonsplitter. But I must ask what is your purpose here human.",the woman said with distaste in her voice.

"I have come to seek refuge.", answered the queen telling the woman the truth, as in her mind that was the best thing to do. It turned out that she had made a mistake, since she had just told the guards, that she was most likely completely alone with no one to protect her.

"Please come closer so that we might meet at the gate, to talk about our terms.",yelled the dark elf. Before the gate slowly started to rumble and lift.

She stepped forward, not even considering a trap since she was far too exhausted and weak to even think straight. As she got closer she could start to make out the face of the elf to whom she had just talked. She seemed young and energetic. Not that it interested the queen much. Since she had only eyes for the city behind the woman.

"Hello there human since you stepped into our territory without our consent. Has it been decided, that you are hereby not a person anymore but a slave to be claimed by anyone who holds a title and since I am the guards captain. Consider yourself claimed.", these words did not really register inside of the queen's head. At least not until the guard captain grapped her by the arm and stated to escort her through the gates towards a small building.

"You cand djo djat." Said the queen before she blacked out. Her exhaustion being stronger than her will.
