Chereads / A skeleton's journey / Chapter 17 - My very own pokemon

Chapter 17 - My very own pokemon

So Skyrim wasn't unrealistic as i thought, at the back of the room was an elevator shortcut to the surface, thank god i don't have to climb that stupid ladder again. But if it's really a shortcut, how is it hidden so people don't just enter using it, maybe it's a one way one. I say elevator but in reality it's just a floating pedestal covered in runes, people are nowhere intelligent like the dwemers to make mechanical ones.

The elevator ride only lasts 6 minutes before stopping at another floor, is it another dungeon? Outside the room were the familiar mossy stone walls and rattling of the skeletons from another room. I guess it is another one, though this one seems more advanced, all the footsteps from the skeletons sounded heavy. For a dungeon to be filled with skeleton knights is very rare but to my current power level on an estimate, this just feels like walk in the park. Wonder if somewhere out there exist demons that I can fight or something mythical like the minotaur or a hydra. Before I can even begin to walk out of the elevator, a lone skeleton knight stumbles through the door.

Hmm let's the familiar spell on this guy, [Soul-bound familiar]. A bright golden halo appeared on top of the knight's head causing it to fall over and spasm on the ground. The seizure continues as the halo expands into a veil of light slowly covering the knight bit by bit before it entirely consumes the knight. The light dies down as it reveal the new knight in shinier armor though it still looks rusty, the helm was fully completed instead of missing a chunk, its sword got about 2 inches longer and a crest appeared on the shield in the shape of a hammer and sickle.[observe]

Holy crap the spell wasn't kidding when it said that these familiars are significantly stronger than their peers. This knight is 80% stronger than a normal not to mention the fact that it can evolve and break through. This is just like pokemon but more badass. Hmm since this is soul-bound, can it listen to my commands mentally? Hey knight nod if you can hear me. The knight nods slightly but it was enough for me to know. That will be incredibly useful, whoever in their right mind will announce their next attack to their opponents. I can't just keep calling him skeleton knight though, it will get confusing later on. Knight do you mind if I name you Sergei? to which the knight nods again, does he even have free will? Oh well doesn't matter, let's see what you can do, ONWARDS!

[30 minutes later]

30 minutes is all it took for Sergei to clear the entire dungeon. 30 minutes is all it took for him to decimates 88 knights without breaking a sweat. This is fucking terrifying for a mere skeleton knight, what would happen if I were to instead command a minotaur, will it just straight up delete a stronghold in 10 minutes? After each knight is killed by Sergei, the dust from its body will split and enter both me and Sergei. I guess Sergei needs actual power boosts instead of relying solely on pure knowledge to evolve like a normal pokemon. I don't mind really, even if the exp from all of the 88 knights was large, I doubt it'll be much of a change for me. After all, whatever level I am on right now after absorbing Moris may requires me to kill a big dragon before any changes occur. The loot I gathered from the onslaught was rather nice consisting of 44 gold, 77 bone powder and 6 shards of decay. Speaking of which, I discarded the flintlock as it is now outdated not to mention that i'm lacking gunpowder after doing that stunt with the bats.

Wait a bloody minute, I have enough shards of decay to fuse together. I took all the fragments out and pile it together to see it if would just automatically assemble. The moment the 10th piece enters the pile, all of the shards glow a dark shade of violet and begin vibrating. Then the shards one by one started floating up and form a circle. They slowly revolves clockwise before accelerating more and more to a blinding speed and collide inwards. *CLING* The collision produces a small cloud of miasma which soon clears revealing the product of a palm-sized white crystal with a tiny gray core in the middle of it.

{Crystal of decay}

rarity: epic artifact

Description: allows the user to raise 10 loyal skeleton knights per day. The crystal used to belong to a necromancer who thirsts for power but died from inquisition before he got his plan into motion. Not wanting all his research to be destroyed by the hands of the church, he broke the crystal into 10 shards and scatter them among his creations and order the knights to hide with his last breath.

What are the odds of me finding those 10 shards among like 100 random skeleton knights? I will definitely abuse this thing for me to create my own private army. Eh what's this? Sergei is radiating a light that got stronger by the seconds. *GASP* IS HE EVOLVING? *cue pokemon evolution music*

Sergei's body turned completely into light as the shape starts to change back and forth between his original form and a bulkier one. The light dissipates as it shows the new form of Sergei. Instead of 5 foot 9, Sergei is now a towering 7 foot 3. His kite shield turned into a greatshield twice the size it was before. His sword morphed into a 2m long warhammer almost as big as himself. The armor he wore is no longer rustic brown but a brilliant gleaming silver with bigger plates. The helmet was no longer there and instead was replaced with a white cloak with gold lining seemingly attached to sergei's armor and flowing down his back. Of course, the greatshield still have the red hammer and sickle crest on it.

Skeleton paladin

level:35-40

Hp:1400

Atk:200

Description: A rare variant of skeleton that has high holy resistance as well as durability. The only known weakness to a skeleton paladin is a powerful dark magic blast but even that requires a lot of skills to make an attack powerful enough to greatly damage them before they use restoration magic on themselves. Skeleton paladins do not spawn in dungeons or naturally for that matter, they are made from the bodies of devoted followers of God whose will to serve lives on after their death. The skeleton paladins are usually found in holy tombs/sacred grounds forbidden for the public.

Wow, broken stats yet again, Sergei could probaly take on the royal guards by now or at least a skilled obsidian adventurer by himself. Oh right, the knights, I almost forgot about them. I point the crystal towards the ground and command it to activate. Its grey core flickers briefly before the ground trembles and breaks apart forming a crack where 10 skeleton knights proceed to crawl out of. They all salute me in a straight line and look just like a normal skeleton knight save for the shield with the hammer and sickle crest. I use [observe] on them and find that they're pretty much the same as a level 35 skeleton knight with 650 hp and 90 atk. I think it's time I begin the crusade against the piece of shit king.
