Chapter 3 - Getting an upgrade

Skill books? So is there system here or the world is just rpg like. More importantly though how the heck do i use it. The cover is just a bland grey and the text is faded and i can see how the pages turned yellow from years of decaying. This stuff is ancient, wait can i even read this, i'm not from here after all. Wait why am i even mentioning this, the damn thing looks like it's 1000 years old it maybe a different language lost to the tine of this world too, so ahould i be glad or sad if i can understand it? Oh well the moment of truth let's see what's in this bas boy, i slowly open the book.

Huh? Pages after pages i read but i couldn't understand a goddam thing because the whole book was blank. What kind of Kung Fu panda shit is this. Maybe i can't see the ink normally or there's some spell preventing me from reading it. As i was contemplating what to do with the book, it suddenly glowed bright like a flashbang blinding me and when i open my eyes again my hands were empty. Suddenly i felt like my head split in two. "GRAAHH! WHAT IS WITH THIS WORLD SUCKER PUNCHING ME. " I kept feeling like someone crammed the entirety of an end-term exam for another 20 minutes or maybe it was just a really painful 2 minutes.

Well that was extemely unpleasant *Plop* i turned around to see that a red slime has made its way into the room and jumped towards me. Still in a daze from what happened and quite frankly annoyed, i just slap it with my hand but to my surprise, the slime died instantly. My hand didn't even have a mark on it, guess that boss fight was worth it after all.

As the dust from the slime enter me, i saw something left behind where it died. It was some sort of translucent jelly orb. I looked at it for a while before a window materialise infront of me.

{slime's essence}

Rarity:uncommon

Description:a rather rare drop from slimes of all kind. Has a good healing property and could be sold for a decent amount of gold or made into healing potions-potion quality depends on amount of essence and recipe used.

Thank you lord for helping me out for once, mayne now i wouldn't stumble around like a blind idiot with [observe] to guide me. Wait a second i almost forgot about the sword. I held it in my hand and stare at it intensely.

{blood reaver}

Rarity:rare

Description: a blade that used to belong to a maddened butcher who craves blood. Each successful hit with the sword will heal the user.

Not bad, not bad at all, i won't hit like a wet noodle the next time i face a boss. Hmmm i'm still butt naked though, i found a cloak in a shitty wooden chest before maybe i can find something better up here. Just as i was about to go through that door behind the throne i realized something. I didn't get the reward for defeating the boss. There was no quest with reward along it to kill Sangress and what i got was just a boss drop from sheer luck not the guaranteed one. There's a fucking boss chest in this damn room. I looked around the remains of the room and find that most of it was already destroyed in the fight. The only thing that didn't get destroyed was the throne Sangress sat on. Despite looking like it weighs half a ton i moved it with not much difficulty and it kinda felt like i was moving a couch. Note to self:test out full extent of abilities later. Sure enough, there was a metal hatch with a golden lock on it. Sangress didn't drop a key so i guess we're doing this the old-fashion way:breaking and entering. I took {blood reaver} and slam it at the lock repeatedly. *Clang* *Clang* *Clang* *Clack*. On the fourth swing the hatch broke apart and i open the hatch to see a steel ladder leading down. The way down was dark and not gonna lie, a little bit spooky but soon enough i can see some torchlight at the bottom.

The room looked like the aftermath of a bombing. The walls are scorched black that some of the bricks melted and the floor is layered with ash. What seemed off though was that all the damage seemingly stop like there was a barrier there. Maybe there used to be a protective ward to seal something away. At the far end of the room was a built in made of some black metal that seemed to shine a dark shade of crimson mesmerizingly every second. The inside was smaller than i thought, only big enough for 2 people maximum to be in there at a time. The loot of the place were humble yet it was of great value, at least i hope so. The first one was, to my delight, an armor stand with a set of rusty crusader armor complete with a t-slit bucket helm that has a movable visor.

{Old knight captain's armor}

Rarity:rare

Desription:a set made of gauntlets, greaves, pauldrons and chestplate that used to belong to the honorable and respected captain Lambert of the Templars who served founding emperor of the Ghidoran empire. Though it has seen a fair share of battles, the metal still held strong and enchanted with elemental protection.

{helm of clairvoyance}

Rarity:rare

Description:one day when captain Lambert passed by a village on the outskirts, he encountered bandits attempting to raid the area. But Lambert didn't stop them for he knew that desperate look in their eyes, the look of a person who just wants to survive. So he just walked towards them and hand them a pouch of gold. This action were admired by evryone present, one of which was a wise monk who gave him this helmet to stop mental attacks from corrupting his mind.

The second thing that was in the closet was a display case on the ground that looked like it fell off its shelf when the explosion happened. Digging through the broken shards of glass i found the item inside which was an ordinary iron ring. Or so i thought, i tried to use [observe] on it but nothing came up. At first i thought it was too ordinary to be observed but i renember that there was supposedly a common rarity so why isn't this showing anything. I was about to leave it but the [observe] screen finally comes up and my jaw drop to the ground, literally.

{Spatial ring}

Rarity:legendary

Description:a personal reward from the emperor to Lambert, a ring forged by the greatest blacksmith and best enchanter of the time. The ring allow the user to store items in a pocket dimension, to activate the ring say "inventory". The ring has 10 pages which each has 30 slots. A slot can carry either 30 small items, 15 food items, 1 skillbook/document, 1 healing item, 1 weapon or piece of equipment at a time. The ring cannot contain sentient beings/objects. The ring has its own storage for money separate from the slots, current balance:0. The ring also has a bond to its current user, constantly guiding them towards it.

That's so fucking op, this means i can have a virtually limitless potions reserve during fights. Then again i can also get 1 shot if i was unlucky enough so maybe not that op. Oh, i can probaly carry my own house on the go in there and nobody would be able to steal anything if i have the ring. What can i do if someone did steal it though, they would take a while to figure out how to access it but when they do i'm screwed. Oh hey there's a small button on the ring. *click*

And with that out of the way, i put on the old set of armor, slid the ring on my left hand and store the {slime essence} from earlier into the ring and make my way back up with {blood reaver} in my hand.
