Big bro!...
Big bro!...
Please don't close your eyes, please…
Those were the last words I heard from my lill sister as she was sobbing before I departed this life.
I wonder how many years have passed since then?
I have been entrapped in this dimension for so long that I have lost track of time.
I have looked everywhere, but there is nothing around me but darkness.
I have given up on finding an exit a long time ago. As I realized that actually, this exit didn't exist.
Since I got in here, all my senses have dulled gradually till I have lost them all.
I really miss the feeling of my feet pressing against the ground…
I have spent too much time in this nothingness that I have actually wished that I would cease from existence like the nothingness around me.
Is this how it's supposed to be after one's death?
Just when I was on the verge of losing my sanity, I heard a strange voice devoid of all emotions.
Even though it was an unfamiliar voice, I was so excited to hear someone talking to me at all.
I have been waiting for something, anything to happen, and this moment has finally arrived.
"Good morning, Sir!" A voice echoed through the darkness. I turned left and right to look for the source of the voice but it was to no avail.
"Morning? What time is it now?" I asked.
"Sir, it's 8:27 AM right now in the place you used to live in before we picked up your soul" the voice replied formally.
"How is that useful to me"I said that "that means nothing to me".
"Sorry for inconveniences, Sir." The voice says with the same robotic tone without showing any sincerity.
"Do you know how to get out of this place?" I asked earnestly.
"You can't get out of your violation" the voice said "You have been kept here for a reason".
I was so enraged when I heard that, but I couldn't show it because I wanted that conversation to continue as long as possible. So after I calmed my rage, I asked,
"Who are you? And what is your reason?"
"Sorry, Sir but I can't tell you about my identity. However, I can tell you about the reason we have kept you in here for-" the voice replied.
,
"After you have died in your past life, you were supposed to be reborn again back on the Earth-" the voice said "But when we looked into your next life, we found out that you will invent a bio-weapon".
,
"and this weapon will end up falling on the hands of the wrong person which would drive to the extinction not only of humanity but also all the other living form inhabiting the Earth-"
,
"That is why you were deemed as a sinner and we halted your lifecycle and enclosed you soul in this container" the voice said.
"Sinner" I have been called a sinner by some psychopath who thinks he can play with my soul like clay and put me in a container when he gets bored of it.
Who is he anyway to call me a sinner? I have been a model student my whole life since I got into the school, all my teachers and friends like me, I have never once ignored any of my parents' requests. How dare he call me a sinner for something I didn't even do yet.
I was so dumbfounded by the amount of absurdity I heard that I couldn't keep up the front of polite conversation anymore. I asked angrily,
"Why don't you prevent this on your own, instead of locking me here like this."
"It's all written by fate, nothing can be altered, even we can't interfere with earthlings' Material world." the voice replied
"Then am I going to stay here like this forever?" I asked in disbelief.
"No sir, if your soul stays in this container for too long, your soul will get weaker gradually till it fades away. The only way to keep your soul alive is by putting it into a vessel" the voice replied.
"Then what are you going to do? Are you going to put my soul into the vessel of a panda to make sure I don't invent that so-called bio-weapon or what?" I said sarcastically.
"No Sir, after prolonged negotiations, we decided to give you a chance." the voice replied.
"A chance??...What chance?" I asked.
"A chance to prove that you can change your own fate" the voice replied.
"Didn't you say earlier that fate can't be altered?" I asked.
"That is not exactly true, sir. Although we can't change fate, humans can. In fact, we have some records of humans who could change their own fate for better" the voice replies.
"Humans?" I wondered.
"That is right, sir. They are humans from the past who achieved great things, contributing a lot to the growth of human civilization" the voice replied.
"Huh!, are you talking about historical figures like Newton and Einstein?-" I said
"Do you expect me to be like them?" I asked.
"Sir, if you feel discouraged, we can just cancel the whole deal and you will stay here like that till your soul ceases from existence." the voice says in the same usual emotionless robotic tone, even though he was threatening me with his words.
"Sigh...alright I will take the chance. It's better than staying here doing nothing after all-" I said
"Then how are we going to prove that I can change my own fate?" I asked.
"We will put your soul in the vessel of a boy whose soul became too weak to stay alive. if you could change that boy's fate, we will believe that you have the ability to change your fate and we will let you continue your lifecycle" the voice explained.
Just when I was about to ask about that boy's fate a blinding light appeared suddenly within the darkness swallowing me in.
Pain…
That is the first feeling since I have been reborn, others would hate pain but for me, it was like beautiful music in my ears since it's been so long since I have felt that sensation.
I could see the faint red in the darkness…
I could feel the heat of the light on my eyelids...
As I raised my eyelids slowly, the light was so bright that I had to quickly close back my eyes.
When my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw an unfamiliar ceiling, I tried to turn my head to check my surroundings but my body, or the body I was in, was too weakened.
Then I heard in my ears a far voice calling,
"Master!"
"Master!"
"Young Master!"
