Chapter 3 - It's Time to Eliminate the Unwanted Guest

After that day, another day comes and I woke up feeling light as I went to the kitchen and eat my breakfast.

"The two guys were found dead inside their car, at first allegedly fell from the cliff but as investigated they were murdered. Nothing more information was detailed but the police said to investigate this case as soon as possible," the reporter from the news said.

"I am sure they will not know that I was the one who made that mess," I said while slurping my coffee and watching the TV.

I went to the office after my breakfast. The driver opened the door for me. As usual, my employees are greeting me as soon as they see me. While waiting for my secretary in the lobby; I noticed some employees that watching attentively at the front desk.

"How unlucky they are," the man at the front desk said.

"They are too young to die. Kids nowadays, they just waste their lives," the passing janitor said.

"As earlier said, the two male victims were murdered inside their car even before it went down straight off the cliff. As from the investigation, there was no evidence left but luckily a witness appeared today and he's here at the station now to state his statement. I am Jessica Venes from All Day Media reporting."

All the employees are attentively watching the news. "Luckily, there is a witness imagine a murderer roaming around. It gives me chills." the employee behind me said.

"Ms. Smith," my secretary called me from afar.

"Mr. Peterson is waiting on the phone," he added.

"About dad's debt again?" I asked.

"Yes ma'am," he answered.

We went straight to my office after that short talk, and I talk to Mr. Peterson as soon as my secretary handed over the phone.

"Alexa when will you pay your debts?!" he said as if his scolding his 6-year-old daughter.

"Mr. Peterson let me get this straight. As far as I know, you said that my father's debt is just $600 000 000 and I already paid all of it two years ago so, why the hell are you still asking money from me?" I asked him.

"Alexa I know that but your father's debt has interest and that's what I am asking from you," he answered.

"Mr. Peterson honestly speaking I respect you a lot. My father is your friend and you even gave him money when he needs it but don't you think that you are being so greedy right now? Do think I did not know what scheme are you trying to do? Listen, I am not a fool that you can control or manipulate. I also know that my father's debt is not $600 000 000, it is much lower than that but I know how you think so, I raised the money and pay you thrice the amount my father borrowed from you. Now, don't you dare ask for more money from me because you're just wasting your time, and no matter what happens, even if I die, you won't receive any money from me anymore," I said and end the call.

I sat in my chair and played some classical music to relax my mind and temper.

That asshole Peterson he's out of his mind. Extracting more money from me? Huh, he must be insane.

I was talking to myself as usual and bad-mouthing that Peterson. As I continue my stuff, I can't forget about the news earlier. How the hell did someone see me that night? If he's a threat, I'll make sure that no one can talk to him ever—cut his tongue or kill him maybe?—so that no one will know what my crime was.

"Ms. Smith there is some detective looking for you," my secretary said.

Crap! did they already know that I am the real culprit? Jeez, what should I do?

"Let them in," I replied.

Some handsome, and tall detective was looking for me. Well, oh, he's that guy! The detective I talked to.

"What brings you here Detective Roberts?" I asked after telling him to have a sit.

"Well, I have no business with you, I just escorted someone to you," he said.

I look at him confused but he just showed me a smirk and then some other guy entered my office.

"Timothy? You're out. Surely your mom loves you so much," I said to Timothy at the same time mocked him.

"Well, I'm not sure. She bailed me out but she doesn't want me to come home," Timothy said and then sighed heavily.

"She also froze my accounts and took away my car, I'm hopeless now Alex," he added.

"And now, you made Detective Roberts your driver? Do you not feel ashamed?" I asked and smacked him.

"Easy Alex! I didn't ask him for this. He asked me first," Timothy said while covering his face.

I looked at Detective Roberts, he nod and said that Timothy says the truth.

"Jeez, Alex are you trying to kill me?" Timothy said.

I glared at him to shut his mouth or else I'll smack him again. He hurriedly tell me that he'd stop and he went outside my office. It's only me and Detective Roberts left.

"I'm sorry Detective Roberts for the disturbance Timothy did," I said to him.

"No, it's okay, as I said I asked him for this," he replied.

"Do you like me? I remember what you said at the station that you wanted to meet me again. Is that the reason why you offer Timothy your help in the first place?" I asked him.

"W-well—" he was stuttering from the question that I asked him. "I guess, it is because of that," he answered.

"I see, but you still did not answer my question, do you like me?" I asked him again and now much closer than before.

He seems to be panicked when I went close to his face. I smirked and move back a bit so he can answer my question.

"I don't know, but I wanted to know you, Ms. Smith," he finally answered.

"Well then, if you wanted to know me, let's start dropping the formalities. Just call me Alexa and I'll call you Kevin," I said.

"Okay, Alexa," he cheerfully answered.

"My, my, Kevin you seem energized now. But do really have time to flirt now? You have to solve the case from last night. The two men who fell from the cliff remember?" I asked him.

"Crap! I forgot!" he said and spring up from his seat. "Well then, after I finished this case I'll make sure to have more time with you Alexa," he said and winked at me before he went outside my office.

I wait for him and looked outside the window from the view of my office. I saw him walking out of the building and going to his car. As my music played inside my office, I said to myself, "This is going to be more interesting". Then I smiled and felt the smooth and nice sound of my music.
