Chapter 10 - Janet

The holidays didn't test our patience, because, after the imposition thingy, days just flew in a wink. Ann, Lavinia and Flores were staying back at the school. Whereas Chris and I pretended to be going back to our home. It did take some time to convince Ann that, we were going back to our homes. She wasn't convinced, especially, when both of us were going home at the same time. I don't know why Ann was acting silly, but Chris used to call Ann's behaviour- "Friendship Jealousy"

We took public buses and taxis to reach Moscow(Janet's birthplace). With the money that was left from aunt Mary's and Chris's parents deposit, we couldn't travel luxuriously. It did take us time to adjust. We used to walk on foot, at times(To save money, of course). We even had to spend a full night under a tree. The only thing that kept us going was the fact that Ann was in danger. Our main aim was to find Janet's parents. We didn't find her parents but we found her parents' closest friends; The Maxims. They were the ones from whom we learned that Janet's parents had passed away four months ago. At this, all our hopes sank. The days we spent walking. The nights we spent without sleep. The nights we slept with empty stomachs grumbling for food. All that seemed to be a waste, until we met a person. A person who charmed our bad luck into a good one. A person whom at first wondered me.

We met Leonid Olezka. Janet's boyfriend(Now I know where she used to go during the semester break)

At first, he was quite uninterested to talk about Janet. But when we told him about our situation. He agreed.

I can't deny the fact that he was a very handsome dude. He had curly brown hair that barely touched his shoulders. Hazelnut eyes, and a childish smile. He was from a rich family. His mom was a businesswoman. His dad died when Leonid was 2 years old. He was a 9th grader in a "Stupid-Boarding-Boys-School"(That's what he called it). Well, as I said before, he became the lucky charm in our journey. He told us things, which we never knew about Janet.

Janet was born on 17th August in Moscow. Her full name was Lilly Fording Janet Davidel D'Souza De Com(I knew that her name was Janet Davidel, but I never knew that there were things after and before it, seriously.) Okay, diversion mode- off. Let's go back to Janet.

Due to her father's job she had to move to Kazan. There she started her schooling at the age of 6. It seemed that she was a very bright student in her class. At the age of 11 after writing her 6th-grade final exams and then she moved to another school. That was the first time she saw Leonid. Eventually, they fell in love with each other(Aww). She completed 7th over there and joined our school. Janet's death was due to an accident, she was in a coma and then she had a heart failure...and then...I don't know the details and I think I don't want to know.

Now the problem was that Janet's story had no connection with Alsace's story. Not even one similarity. When there was nothing to be done anymore, we decided to give up. Again, here we were. Happy that we came to know about Janet but sad that there was no use in knowing it now. But that's when again Leonid became our lucky charm.

"Sara, I think you should see Father Candido Amantini of the St Vlamikir church. He might be able to help you."- Leonid suggested. I looked at Chris and Chris looked back. After a few moments, she broke the eye contact and spoke to Leonid.

"That's so generous of you, Leo, umm...I mean Leonid. But how can we go there? I mean, transport and stuff."

"Mama and Me are going to church tomorrow. I will take you there. Father Candido is a very pleasant and kind man. He will help you out.

"Thanks a lot, Leonid. We owe you a lot."- I said.

"Don't mention."- He said smiling,
