Chapter 5 - Chapter five

Reipreyl,

We ran for hours unend. I knew how long it took me to get to Kantara through this forest, so I wasn't tired at all but Tyfanie was panting heavily. We finally got to the clearing that led to the tingling ocean, where it had all began. As we got there we both stopped and sat near the ocean, trying to catch our breath. Knowing that finally we were safe. From sitting we changed to lying on our backs. After a long silence, Tyfanie spoke up: "Thank you so much for saving me from that place. I don't know what would have happened to me if you didn't. Oh, wait I know, I would have been dead by tomorrow. How did you know where I was?"

she asked, curiosity etched across her face.

"Well, you see...." I started then trailed off.

"Well I see what?" she asked feeling more curious than ever.

"I heard two drunkards, okay not drunkards, two kantaran soldiers talking about you and I heard them say something about a princess in a tower and I just knew they were talking about you." I finally said.

"You are so sweet, most people would have saved themselves and forgotten about me but you are so different."

As soon as she said that she rolled onto me and hugged me. I found myself getting lost in the hug. I held her tight not wanting to let her go. She suddenly drew back from me and sat up, backing me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

She looked at me, lowered her eyelashes and asked lovingly "Are you the keeper of the dragon's breadth?" she asked.

I was taken aback by her question, I had to admit I wasn't expecting that question, I mean, I knew she'd ask eventually how I was able to breathe out fire but if I was the keeper of the dragon's breadth, no, I did not anticipate that.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to pry but what you did back there got me curious and my sister had mentioned that you might be the keeper of the dragon's breadth, so I just had to ask." She said, meaning every word.

"How do you know about the dragon's breadth?" I asked.

"I know because my family, were the tartilians" she said.

I looked at her in shock.

"Yes," I replied " I am the keeper of the dragon's breadth."

She looked at me, this time not in curiosity or worry but in happiness.

"So when do I get to meet the rest of the dragons?" she asked.

I laughed "soon" I said.

I had never felt more happy in my entire life.

I walked hand- in- hand with Tyfanie leading her down the way that led to her father's castle. I wanted to make sure that she arrived there safely. We reached the gates and as soon as we did they opened up. I then said goodbye to her and started my journey home, not withstanding Tyfanie's pleas to come in. I walked and walked until I got to my father's house: dragon's fate. Dragon's fate was in the midst of the forest, it was the only thing in that forest clearing. It was built from the scales of many dragons. It was the most beautiful place one could ever lay eyes upon. I walked up to its gates and the gates opened for me. I passed through the courtyard, making my way to the upper chambers, which I knew held my family. I twisted and turned my way through the fortress known as my home, passing through the hallway leading to the upper chamber. I got there and with just a mere breath was allowed in. As soon as I got there the first set of eyes I met were that of my sister. She looked at me for a long time before rushing over to give me a hug, as though she were considering if I were dead or not. I then entered into the inner part of the chamber where my parents were. I hugged my mom, then dad before I sat down.

"Now my son" my father began " tell us what happened."

I began to narrate everything that had happened, seeing Tyfanie at the beautiful or tingling ocean, the Kantaran soldiers attack, being in prison for a whole week, escaping, saving Tyfanie then leaving Kantara and heading back for Maupa. My parents looked at me, shock evident on their faces. They were so proud of me for my bravery and courage that they couldn't use words to explain it. My father stepped forward and placed a hand on my shoulder and said

" We are both very proud of you son."

( At Tyfanie's home )

Tyfanie,

I now lay on my bed in my room after the warm reception my family had given me when they heard all I had gone through. My sister Lenon had been so nice to me since I returned. I was told that she blamed herself for what happened to me. My family, now more than anything wanted to thank Reipreyl but the only problem was that they didnt know where he lives or that he was the holder of the dragon's breadth, however I told them I'll find out. Now, I lay here, thinking of only one person: Reipreyl. He had occupied my thoughts ever since he left. Now more than ever I was determined to know where he lived, since he was the keeper of the dragon's breadth, one thing crossed my mind though, how and were will I see him again? He most definitely wouldn't go to the mountains or the tingling ocean again, not after his last encounters. I thought long and hard, then finally figured out where he might be: the mystical forest. I knew he liked discreet, peaceful and quiet places. That was the place that matched all of these. I decided to go there the next day.

................................

( THE NEXT DAY, IN THE MORNING )

Reipreyl,

I woke with a start, feeling so heavy and tired. I decided to close my eyes for a few more minutes before getting up to start my day.

( 2 hours later )

I woke up some hours later, feeling better and well rested. I decided to go for a jog and maybe get some training done but not before breakfast because I was starving, after having not eaten properly for the past week I felt like I was going to die if I didn't get food in me soon. Immediately after breakfast I'd head out for my jog.

************************

Breakfast was amazing, my mom went all out today. Apparently, she was making up for all the days I was not home. I was glad, with how hungry I was I could eat anything. We talked about what had happened while I was away. They updated me on everything that was going on in the realm and how Ashprok had been progressing in his training with Paurei and the other dragons. After breakfast, dad and mom were going to have a conference call with Ashprok while Naena was going to watch a movie. I changed into my workout clothes and left for my jog.

...........................

Tyfanie,

I woke up on the right side of the bed today. I was so excited and happy and most of all I hoped that I'll be able to see Reipreyl today. I had breakfast with my family later than usual, as I took some extra minutes bathing as I hadn't taken a bath in a week. Breakfast was lovely, I missed talking to my family about ridiculously, meaningless, random stuff. My mother always had the funniest things to say, my father would just sit there smiling at whatever she said. Lenon always just sat and observed everything that was happening. I missed these guys. After breakfast I headed out of the house, praying that I met Reipreyl in the mystical forest.

************************

As I entered the mystical forest, I could feel that someone was deep inside it, I quickened my pace so I'll be able to know who it was before the person left. As I got deeper and deeper into the forest, I sensed that I was getting closer to whoever was in here. I reached a crossroad and before me I recognized the humongous building in front of me as: DRAGON'S FATE. The largest fort in the entire dragon history, owned only by the leader of the dragons. Now I seriously wanted to know who was here because the person might live here, who knows, maybe it was Reipreyl. I turned right, sensing the person was there. I walked faster than I had ever walked before. As I reached the end of a pathway before me lay an ocean and on the other side stood a person. The person was most likely developing his powers. He fired shots with his palms towards a huge oak tree filled with dangerous bats. As he did fire emanated from his palms consuming the bats but not the tree. 'How on Earth was he doing that?' I thought. When the person noticed me he stopped and tried to make out who I was. As he turned I noticed the stature and body build of the person and that's when I recognized who I was facing: Reipreyl.
