#Jazlyn p.o.v#
"Jazlyn! I need you to get up now or you will be late for school!" I heard mom's crazy yelling from below. The first attack didn't reach my ears, but the second was like an invasion. It shook me up from bed and disturbed my peaceful slumber.
'my gosh! I promise I need an ear bug'
I gave out an awkward yawn before tiredly stretching out my sore muscles, especially my back muscles. They needed more work than ever. A satisfied sigh escaped my lips when I heard them pop one after the other. Getting up from my bed, I walked straight to my window and stared outside. I tried memorizing the beautiful surroundings of the estate we lived in because I promised I would do it. This is going to be the last time I will ever see this place, the last time I get to keep it in my heart. 'I'm really gonna miss this place than I missed Kaycee dead cat'
This is the place I grew up, a place my childhood memories belong. If I wanted to forget any place, not this place. It is the only city in this country I was ever accepted and never rejected once, and because of that, I called it my safe home. Who knew life could turn things around and give us hard choices that bite from behind. I am left with no option but to leave everything behind, a little sacrifice for the selfish things you love won't hurt a bit… I hope!
I watched as Lucy, Mr and Mrs Osborn's daughter waved them bye and climbed into the school bus. Lucy was one of the many kids I find interesting and her parent like having her hang out with me most times. I sighed once more, with my eyes closed and listened to the music notes coming from the canaries singing happily on the tree near my window 'this is the memory I will take with me, I will never forget what this place means to me' I took two minutes of my time gathering memories of this place and stored them into the deepest part of my heart where all my prized memories are. And I decided to prepare for school straight before mom comes to have my head.
Huh- so let me introduce myself. My name is Jazlyn Roxanne Engelbert and I am eighteen, will be nineteen in a month. I am about 5 feet 4 inches I guess, my hair color is deep red with a tint of white which is super soft and smooth. The blonde highlights on my hair are super real though most people don't believe it, like it or not it is real and rare. My eye color is icy blue, and my mom looooves them so much, she just adores them like tiny pearls. Let's cut the intro short I am a daddy's girl and I love to be pampered a lot, don't judge me but I can be trouble sometimes and when I mean sometimes I mean all the time.
After wearing something comfortable, I got downstairs to find mom already arranging our stuff in carton boxes. I swear for a pregnant woman she got a lot of strength and guts which I know, I do not possess despite I am younger.
"Good morning mom." I greeted happily and smiled broadly at my mother. I used the door frame as a wall by leaning lazily on it. It separated the living room and dining room thereby creating a nice custom touch.
"Good morning Roxy, please hurry up and get changed, I don't want you to be late, okay." She told me hurriedly.
"Mom, it is not like I am actually going to school." I complained.
"I know, I just don't want us to be late to the airport." She reminds me.
"Alright mom. I will go and be back-.on time" I spoke using emotional words, then let out a loud sigh as I made my way up to get her attention.
"Roxy?" She called softly.
'yes! just as I wanted!'
"Roxy, I know this is a huge move for you, but it is uncomfortable for me too."
"I know mom."
"Don't you see! I'm pregnant! baby girl" She made a dramatic gesture at her medium size baby bump to make her point. "But we got to move on and see what best part life has for us on the other side. This place holds wonderful memories of your childhood I know- I understand that and, I am not going to take that from you, but you have to know one thing Jazlyn. Things happen for a reason and changes occur in everyone's life, let's just always hope for the best for ourselves." She advised me and it warmed my heart hearing her say those words.
"Thanks mom. For the advice." I spoke and gave her a nice smile. Mother is like my life coach, my teacher, and my counselor, she always has an answer to my questions even the ones I never told her about, she is my everything. And my dad, he is my hero, they are the family I wanted years back, I had them and I still have them now. That's all I need.
"You're welcome. Now get going it's already past eight." She says.
"I'll go get something to eat first, then I will be on my way."
"Okay Roxy."
I left to get some ready-to-eat snacks before waving to mom. "Bye mom."
"Bye! Have a great day."
I left the house five minutes after having a light breakfast and taking that snack and was able to catch a bus. I dropped in front of the school and head straight to my locker but avoiding some set of people I don't wish to see. I don't need unnecessary attention while I prepare for my leave. So far no one noticed me or talked to me which got me engrossed in clearing out my locker.
I can swear that I have never been so shocked by anything in my life like the angry voice that screamed behind me. It didn't just shake my body but scare the living shit out of me. As I turned at the voice I saw a very, very angry Charlotte glaring at me.
'Oh my damn, here comes trouble'
"So you are going to Spain without telling me!" Charlotte screamed loudly which caused a terrible migraine to start inside my head.
Who in the world told Lottie I was traveling, cause I can clearly remember I told no one neither did mom tell any. "How did you know? And who told you?" I asked, curious to know.
"Oh so it's true! Why didn't you tell me!!!" She screamed again. My lord, Lottie is one hell loud screamer and a very over-dramatic person by nature. I should have known better than to keep secrets from her.
"Lottie you got to keep your voice down, teachers are around the school." I hushed her and gave a teacher that was passing an apologetic look for her behavior.
"Okay, okay, my voice is down so explain to me what is this about?" She demanded.
"My dad got a business in Spain and he wants us to move in with him. Over there." l answered with one of my convincing smiles hoping to convince my dear friend.
"But your mom- she's pregnant." She complains and I chuckled at how stupid she sounded for trying to make me stay.
"Dad had our flight arranged weeks ago, we will be leaving by four." I told her.
"But what about graduation? How are you going to graduate? Remember it's the final year." She tried pressuring me again and I had to laugh at this one 'crazy Charlotte' at times she could be just nice, at times very manipulative, I can remember the first day we met she bullied me into being her friend and since then we have been inseparable… well… well, until now, I guess that's what life wants for us.
"My dad had that sorted already, he's rich remember?" I reminded her.
"Right, why did I forget that part." She muttered sarcastically.
After talking a bit, Lottie helped me empty my locker and arranged them inside the bag I brought, we hugged each other for the last time and said our goodbyes before going our separate ways.
