Adam tried to hold back a snicker after his initial delight at the large outburst nearby. His plan had come together wonderfully as the Vanid walked away from her own statue, a far smaller and modest affair compared to her target's. Both statues shone with what looked like a divine glow, even in the abundant light of the room.
"How dare you! You arrogantly thought you could use the human as a scapegoat to attack me and thought you would get away with it?"
The first Vanid walked up to the second, spittle catching in her mandibles as she raged at her peer. Her arms seemed to instinctively move towards the two, though Adam couldn't be sure if it was because of the impressive displays the Vanid had prepared for the festival, or if Adam's little setup had outshone that.
