Cyrus got to work at once and sent two of their trusted men to find out the situation at the old Duke's mansion. Though it was not easy to extract secrets from the people who worked at the Duke's mansion, it was not difficult for them either for the King had a guard who had been appointed to protect the lady of the mansion.
Alastair did not budge from his spot as he sat beside Calix while Cyrus returned after instructing the guards. He stood behind the young King, wondering what he was thinking for he was just staring blankly. Alastair's gaze was unfocused while his face held a solemnity that surprised him utterly.
Cyrus did not question him about it and stood still, waiting for the King to come out of his reverie himself. Whatever was troubling his King, his dear friend would surely be related to their future Queen, and Cyrus too frowned recalling the state she had been in when his King had brought him out of the room once she was done curing Calix.
