"Let me see my son just once, Your Highness." Odalis stared at the young King hopefully as she waited for his reply.
Alastair sprang to his feet the moment she kneeled before him. Her sudden action took him by surprise, rendering him speechless. "Lady Odalis, please get up lady." He held her by her shoulders gently and helped her up. "Please don't kneel before me."
"But..I...I..." Odalis did not know what to speak to him and her lips quivered in sorrow and anguish.
"You are someone I trust. You do not have to beg me, Lady. Even if you had not asked me, I would have allowed you to meet your son. I have no right to stop you from meeting your son." Alastair stated. "I did not tell you about him before because I had my reasons. I apologize for keeping it a secret from you, Lady."
