Samantha stared at the King's back, unable to comprehend what had even happened. She was left dumbfounded by the turn of events. A day ago, she was just a simple maid at the Bradford mansion whose duty was to follow all the orders given to her. But now, her situation had changed. She was now in the palace and was given a room that could fit all the maids in the Bradford mansion. Moreover, she was not a maid anymore, and the reason to which she still did not know.
Samantha was so lost in thoughts that she did not realize when the maid she had seen outside had entered the room, and she was now calling for her.
"My Lady," The maid called the girl in front of her again, and finally, she snapped out of her thoughts.
"Yes?" Samantha queried.
"I am Janet. I will be your personal maid from now on." She bowed before Samantha, and Samantha bowed back, unaccustomed to such treatment.
