"I know why you are here, or more specifically, for whom you are here," Samantha revealed Lillian's intentions without blinking an eye, and Lillian's resentment towards her grew by several folds. She had never hated her more than the girl who had an innocent expression on her face.
"What are you speaking, Samantha?" Lillian tried to brush off her claims with a laugh. "I am here on Madam Lily's orders. She wanted to speak to you regarding an important matter." Lillian tried as hard as she could to stay put on her words even though she knew she was failing. She had seen the obvious look of distrust on the King's face, and she blamed Samantha for it.
She did not mind Samantha suspecting the truth behind her words, but not before the King. Lillian wanted to leave a good impression on the King, and if possible, convince him to take her with him too, just like Saorsa and Samantha. But Samantha was only making it difficult for her to gain the King's favor.
