"I marked you, Samantha and this," Alastair pointed to his neck before he pointed to hers and smiled fondly at her. "Is the bond that had formed between us."
For a moment, Samantha stayed silent as she stared at the mark on Alastair's neck. She could not make out what exactly the mark represented for all she saw was two curved lines intertwined together. But all her mind was focused on was what Alastair had told her, and she blinked quite a few times to comprehend it.
Alastair too did not urge her to speak up, allowing her the time she needed to adjust to the sudden and unexpected change. Though there was nothing different in her or him, only he knew how intense the effects of the mark would be.
