Neither Alastair nor Samantha had spoken a word since they had started walking around the palace. Although at times, Samantha would glance the man who had his hands behind his back, she did not start the conversation, for she did not know what to speak about. Alastair felt the girl's eyes on his every few moments, and his lips rose in glee. However, he too did not initiate the talk hoping for the girl to speak first. He wanted to decipher what was running in her mind and what she wanted to do next.
Samantha finally could not tolerate the silence any longer, and she stopped walking, causing the King to halt too. "Milord, is something bothering you?" She queried.
Samantha was not used to the King's silent treatment towards her, and it was bothering her since the time they had left the dining hall. Even though he was giving her a tour of the palace, not once he had spoken a word or explained about the grandeur of the place, leaving everything to the girl's imagination.
