Poorstag gives Pino a lesson in what magic is and how to control it once Pino wakes up. He explained everything in detail until Pino understood it instead of just knowing it. All day long he teaches Pino about the basics of magic including mana flow and level 1 magic skills.
"Hand of Power that you have is a physical type of magic, and on the basis of magic is divided into two, namely physical and mental. Physical type magic is similar to what you have today, because this type of magic aims to strengthen the user's power. Meanwhile, mental type magic is like Fireball, or Detect of Life, magic that affects outside the user's body. Now if you use that magic, I want to see it!" Poorstag asks Pino to activate his Hand of Power magic. He wants to know how powerful his magic is.
Poorstag's request was answered, Pino immediately used the magic according to what poorstag said. And his hands will be blackened as a result of the magic, not one hand, but both of them. Loose blackened, there was smoke surrounding it and again it was black. The more focus Pino gets the blackened the color of his hands until it becomes very dark.
"Oh... you know, I'm not interesting, powerful magic. It's not just physical magic, it's both... judging by which flow comes out of this magic. Its power is equivalent to level 2 magic, high enough... No, it's too high. What kind of power is there in this magic? Pino... just think of a ball in your hand, then flow mana, and think of where it is like water filling a ball-shaped container," said Poorstag, he was curious about the magic that Pino had, he felt if the smoke coming out next to the pino hand was not smoke but the flow of mana itself.
"Okay, Uncle. I'll follow him..." Pino followed the direction given by Poorstag, initially nothing happened, but Pino constantly tried to keep doing it even without results. For more than an hour he did it, as he began to despair of his indetent success, suddenly on the palm of his hand appeared a which formed the ball and it came from the surrounding smoke.
"Good, keep it up. You've done well, you've got to be able to keep the ball for another hour. We'll see how strong magic you have and how long you can sustain it!!" Poorstag pays attention to every detail in Pino's hands, especially the thick black energy ball that is on the palm of his hand.
"This is no longer physical type magic but more than just that. Magic Missile, this magic of yours I can say looks just like him. This ball you can shoot out of your hand, and it becomes the same magic as the Magic Missile. Now, try to give it back and lose the ball!!" Poorstag begins to understand what magic Pino has.
He does not expect that Pino will have this kind of magic, no longer of physical type but can be applied to mental type magic. He tries to see how big this magic potential is, because there are two kinds of magic skills, namely innate magic or magic learned. Poorstag sees if the magic skills that Pino possesses are innate magic.
Notwithstanding anything else, he observes the way Pino uses magic from scratch, and he discovers if Pino has an even bigger mana. As he watches it, Poorstag sees that Pino doesn't look tired at all despite maintaining his magic shape for a full two hours. In fact, most novice witches who are completely new to magic will not be able to survive this long.
"Pino... This kid is talented, now he looks like a novice witch, not just a degree. Maintaining magic for a long time is not an easy thing, he can do it in just one experiment, a great talent," Poorstag said.
He also asked Pino to take a short break before starting another lesson, now he not only teaches Pino about the basics of magic in theory, but he also teaches it by practicing it. I don't know how long it took him to learn magic, Poorstag didn't mind at all, he taught Pino everything he knew including the magic he mastered.
Day after day, Pino only trains and trains. No matter day or night, he only practiced magic, he also learned magic from other elements according to what Poorstag said. He also helped Poorstag research several things.
Pino not only practices magic, but he also retrains his swordsmanship, it is unlikely that he will forget the sword art that Balam has taught him. On the other hand, he also misses Balam who knows where he is, he doesn't hear from him at all. Without any news about Balam making Pino unsettled, he was really worried about Balam and kept reminding him.
Practicing every day without any time lag, Pino is getting stronger physically as well as with his ability to use magic. He's not worried about anything else including Coasthaven Academy, he's been taught pretty well by Poorstag in every way. Learning magic from him makes Pino realize how weak he is, nothing but a strong desire to grow stronger.
Week after week, Pino went through all the training diligently and vigorously, he didn't go through the other lads that went into Coasthaven Academy, he continued to train and help Poorstag, every day he went through the same activities.
Despite having decent magic skills and abilities, he didn't come out of Morshore City at all, he didn't fight monsters, and he only helped Poorstag. The training he did was tougher, heavier than the students at Coasthaven Academy, but he loved what happened to him.
In the end two years passed and Pino, now 17, was enrolled at Coasthaven Academy. Isn't it too late for his mature age? It's actually not too late, although he'll be said to be old later, still he still needs an education.
Poorstag just took Pino off after two years of studying him. He does not believe that this two-year training will make Pino a very different figure, not only his height and body that match Balam, but his ability to use magic is quite different compared to two years ago.
"There's nothing more I can teach you, now you can go to Coasthaven Academy or go wherever you want. But, my advice... Go to Coasthaven Academy and study back there, there must be lessons you can take," Poorstag said while texting Pino before Pino left him.
