A year had past since learning that he was a vampire, Visteon had trained him and the others as best as she could, but now it was time for them to strike out on their own. Karnage and the others were only 13, but after the training and them being vampires, the only worry they would have is being caught and every now and again moving. Karnage decided to strike out towards the east, even though it wasn't heavily explored yet, there would still be camps of people here and there, and Karnage knew that he only needed blood twice a month. Plus since the area wasn't populated he could snatch a person and no one would think twice, the only thing they'd think is poor sap got aten by a beast.
It had been a week since Karnage had set out and he had covered a decent amount of ground since, by his estimate he'd gone roughly 20 miles. Karnage dove off to the side and ducked down under a downed log, coming through the forest from the other direction were two men holding weapons, he had heard them coming before he had saw them thanks to them crashing about. As the men got closer he could hear them talking, one of the men who had a gravely voice spoke "Can't believe this shit, you got us sent out here on purpose didn't you?" The other shrugged "Can you blame me? I was bored of the camp nothing exciting had happened in months, I figured some time away would be good," Karnage didn't even breathe as the men stomped past but soon they were out of sight, but he laid there a while longer just to be on the safe side. Karnage stood and let out a slow breath, he didn't figure they would hurt him but he couldn't be to safe.
The winter had set in sooner than expected, Karnage was now in his late 30s but didn't look much older than 20, years had passed since he'd met Visteon and the others, he'd kept in contact with the others but the news was always the same, we've settled down here or here blah blah we're fine, not making any big changes yet. It was always a yet and Karnage had had enough, he had decided the night before to start blooding humans, and he had contacted Visteon for help with training, Visteon sat across the table from Karnage and smiled "I always knew it was going to be you who'd start blooding first, I just thought it was going to be sooner, but I'm glad to help it's time for the shift to be made, the humans have gotten cocky again and this time the universe has provided the new cure, vampires and not just a few but thousands to create an army to conquer the humans and restore balance." Karnage smiled "So let's begin then, where shall we start?" And like that it began, Karnage went out and blooded forty humans that first night. It was time for change.
